As soon as Tiffany saw the headline, her brow furrowed.
She had vaguely anticipated that Alfonso's car accident couldn’t be kept under wraps, and that the hospital might be exposed too. But she hadn’t expected this to be the news that would come out.
And it involved her!
Tiffany frowned, her face growing serious as she took in the situation. She even felt a headache coming on.
Sure enough, Leon called soon after.
He sounded anxious when the call connected.
“Tiffany?”
“Are you awake?”
Leon’s voice was full of worry.
Hearing this, Tiffany had a pretty good idea of what was going on.
She took a deep breath and then smiled, “I’m fine.”
“But when I woke up earlier, I learned from Julie about some things posted online. If you hadn’t called me, I would’ve contacted you.”
Her tone was light, as if none of this was a big deal.
But she was also scrolling through her phone, seeing the comments under the trending topic, filled with unpleasant remarks.
“Tiffany is so shameless! With a good man like Mr. Cooper, she’s still not satisfied and does this behind his back?”
“Tiffany, come out! How can you be so shameless, seducing others behind his back?”
“How could Alfonso even look at her? I bet this woman, aside from being pretty, has no other merits. She’s probably been with many men, maybe even slept with them. Disgusting!”
Seeing those comments, even though she tried to control herself, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy and troubled. She had never imagined it would turn out like this.
In that moment, her heart felt stifled and she could barely breathe.
Leon’s state changed when he heard her.
He seemed to sense something, his voice full of pain.
“Tiffany, since you’ve seen the news online, don’t let it bother you.”
His voice was serious, “There’s no need to pay attention to what these people say. I’ll handle it. You just rest.”
Hearing Leon’s gentle voice, Tiffany pressed her lips together, her face calming.
She chuckled, “These baseless things won’t affect me. Don’t worry, I’m fine.”
“I just didn’t expect this to be posted online and cause such a stir.”
She shook her head, her tone tinged with bitterness.
Then she spoke again, her voice full of helplessness.
“Don’t worry, I’m not too concerned about this. But I’m worried about the situation at the hospital. I don’t know how to handle it.”
Leon’s deep voice came through the phone.
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll handle it.”
“Tiffany, if there’s nothing else, just stay home. Leave the rest to me.”
Hearing Leon’s steady voice, Tiffany felt much calmer.
All her emotions were suppressed, leaving her feeling a mix of things.
She felt something indescribable, but still nodded gently.
“I’ll leave everything to you then.”
“I’m really tired today. I’ll just rest at home.”
Her tone was light, and she sounded quite happy.
After a moment, they hung up. She lay quietly in bed, her face showing a bit of contentment.
The online uproar didn’t affect her at all. She had been through many storms, so she didn’t find anything unusual about this.
But thinking about recent events, she couldn’t help but feel a bit of a headache.
However, these thoughts only lasted a moment. In the afternoon, her phone suddenly rang.
Seeing the incoming call, Tiffany’s face showed a bit of confusion before she calmly looked away.
She never expected the call to be from Alfonso.
After a moment of silence, she answered the call.
But before she could hear anything, the call was disconnected.
Then, a message came through.
“Help! Someone at the hospital found me. I’m in danger!”
It was just a simple sentence.
After that, no matter what Tiffany asked, there was no response.
Seeing the message, Tiffany sat up immediately.
Her face looked strange, as if she was contemplating something.
“Alfonso, what’s going on over there? Can you tell me right away?”
“Where are you now? What about your agent, your assistant? Can you explain?”
But all her messages went unanswered, like they had disappeared into the void.
Tiffany’s mood grew more agitated, and she finally couldn’t sit still.
Although she didn’t know the specifics, she could tell that things weren’t simple.
With Alfonso unable to move around, if no one was there to take care of him, something bad could happen.
Thinking this, she decided she had to go check on him.
