Chapter 79 You Are Already a Big Shot

Ronan nodded and didn't linger any longer. He went into his office.

A sudden doubt crossed his mind—could Elsie have recovered her memory?

Impossible. He had seen Elsie before, just a glimpse from afar. That sharp, unsheathed-sword kind of edge was completely different from the current Elsie—they were like two different people.

Come to think of it, losing her memory and having her personality change drastically didn't mean Elsie had lost her brain.

Just now, Elsie had deliberately provoked Jada.

Because before provoking her, Elsie had clearly glanced in Ronan's direction.

She was intentionally using his presence to her advantage.

A slight smile appeared at the corner of Ronan's mouth.

He knew everything that had happened yesterday and today.

He had seen plenty of capable women.

He had seen plenty of gentle women, too.

But smart women? He hadn't seen many of those.

With all these qualities combined, it was hard for him not to like her. He was confident he could win Elsie over.

Elsie came out of the office.

She went downstairs, walked around the plaza, and headed straight to the Wilson Group office area.

When she reached the first-floor lobby, employees coming and going all turned to look.

After yesterday's incident, Elsie's reputation had spread widely among the employees at the Wilson Group headquarters.

If before losing her memory, Elsie's name was only well-known among senior management and PAT Marketing Company, now Elsie had gained some fame among thousands of regular employees.

Any woman who had Chris, Daniel, and Rhett sitting around her must be something special.

Of course, people didn't really know what had happened yesterday.

Many admirers, hearing that Elsie had arrived, rushed out to see what kind of goddess could steal their dream guys—and steal three of them at once!

After seeing Elsie, even the women who usually dressed fashionably and prided themselves on having cutting-edge international taste felt inferior.

She was truly beautiful.

Whether it was her face, figure, or temperament, she was the kind of one-in-ten-thousand beauty.

People nearby whispered, "Look, the one-in-ten-thousand beauty is heading to the elevator!"

"Where is she going?"

"Oh my god, she pressed the floor where Daniel's office is!"

"Don't tell me she's coming to see you? Have you looked at all those pimples on your face?"

"Oh, please, you're laughing at me? Why don't you take a good look at your own height? When you kiss Elsie, you probably couldn't reach her even on your tiptoes. Why am I even imagining you kissing Elsie? This is so wrong!"

Elsie naturally didn't hear the crowd's chatter.

She was constantly rehearsing in her mind, thinking about how to express herself when facing Daniel.

She wasn't sure what Daniel's attitude was. From yesterday to today, Daniel hadn't said anything, nor had he looked for her.

Perhaps in his eyes, she was just a minor player, and someone of his stature didn't need to get angry with a minor player.

But he definitely didn't like her. Yesterday, another misunderstanding had already formed—Daniel thought she had an unclear relationship with Chris.

Whatever. As they say, more debts don't weigh you down, more lice don't make you itch.

No matter what, she had to see Daniel and fight for a chance to meet with the Morgan family.

As long as she could get the Morgan family to renew their contract with the Wilson family, she would be willing to pay any price.

As the elevator doors opened, Katya's office came into view.

She was still there, which meant Daniel was there too. As Daniel's secretary, whenever the two of them were at the company, she had to stay within the boss's line of sight at all times.

The elevator chime also caught Katya's attention as she worked with her head down at her monitor.

Elsie saw Katya peek out from behind the monitor, ready to see who had arrived.

After seeing Elsie, Katya's expression showed obvious surprise, a flash of something unusual in her eyes.

It seemed Katya also knew about what happened yesterday.

Katya waved at Elsie and quietly greeted her, gesturing for Elsie to come in.

Good. She could first gauge Katya's attitude and find out what Daniel really thought about this matter. Elsie fully trusted Katya. Since joining the company, Katya had always been kind in their few meetings.

This was the only warmth Elsie had felt since coming to this company.

"Katya, is Mr. Wilson in?"

After entering Katya's office, Elsie got straight to the point.

"You really know how to stir things up."

Katya slapped her forehead with a worried expression. While asking Elsie to sit and wait a moment, she extracted a cup of coffee from the automatic coffee machine on the office balcony and handed it to Elsie:

"Here, just bought these coffee beans. Try it and see if it's to your taste."

"Thank you, your coffee is definitely good!"

"Stop with the flattery. You're now the leading lady in the Wilson Group employees' gossip groups. Yesterday, messages discussing you filled up the chat—I couldn't even keep up!"

Katya said quietly.

Elsie was stunned. She hadn't expected that Katya, as Daniel's secretary with a high position at the Wilson Group, would actually be in a bunch of gossip groups.

"Katya, don't laugh at me. Yesterday was completely an accident!"

In front of Katya, the only person she trusted at this company, Elsie could finally show some of her true feelings. Her eyes became slightly red.

"I believe you didn't leak it on purpose. I watched yesterday's surveillance footage too. After you fell, Chris helped organize your documents. It was probably at that moment that Chris saw the contract amount."

Katya patted Elsie's shoulder comfortingly.

"Katya, did you tell Mr. Wilson about this?"

Elsie was overjoyed. This was crucial evidence that could completely prove her innocence!

Katya gave a bitter smile, shrugged, hesitated for a moment, then stammered:

"How could I not show him? But Mr. Wilson..."

She sighed.

She knew Daniel's personality well. Sometimes he was just stubborn. If he thought someone was good, he would treat them well, wholeheartedly. Like herself, she had no family background, just came from an ordinary family, but just because she sat next to Daniel in school and always looked after him, Daniel considered her a friend.

After graduation, he brought her to work at the Wilson Group. Logically speaking, as Daniel's secretary, she would have senior management status and benefits at the Wilson Group. This position shouldn't have gone to someone with no family connections like her, but Daniel insisted against all opposition and put Katya in this position.

But with Elsie, Daniel was at the other extreme.

Katya wasn't clear where Daniel's hostility toward Elsie came from.

"Mr. Wilson said..."

"The surveillance footage could also be part of a scheme between you and Chris, probably staged for everyone to see..."
