Chapter Four

Right after entering the apartment soft music can be heard in the distance. She walks past the hallway and find Zariah working on her laptop with her black thin glasses that compliments her beautiful face and silver hair.

Alora admires her best friend not only for her mixed heritage beauty…. I mean who wouldn’t love a person with east Asian and South African ancestry that has a pair of enticing almond eyes and more of a tanned complexion.

But she entirely admire her hard work for not wanting things the easy way out and the fact that she is one of the rare people in Girrabana who isn’t entirely okay with everything.

Zariah notices her presence and turns to look at her “ Oh! you’re back” she smiles excitedly.

“ Yeah...” Alora tiredly say as she throw her coat on the couch “ What are you up to?” she asks Zariah, though Alora constantly praises her hard work, it is not usual for Zariah to work this late on a weekend

“ Oh, I am just digging on the background of our new president” She casually said.

“ Is he your next big thing?”

“ You can say that, there have been so many rumors from the social groups about how he is different,” she says the last word with air quotes

Alora laugh at just hearing her mention the group, knowing she is referring to a group from the journalism class she was in back in college, they always share everything they think and find in the group, but never dare to voice anything fearing to lose their places in society.

“ And what did they speculate this time around” Alora couldn’t help but giggle as she asked

“ That he is unpredictable in a weird way and some even say it is like he has D. I. D ... Some say he has a twin, some even comment he is not in love with Barbara as they seem to be” she states.

“ People have look-alikes, why would he hide his twin if he is the president already? and why would he marry someone he doesn’t love being that young just for the presidency? People are just too much sometimes” Alora explains as she head for the fridge.

“That's what I want to find out because way too many accusations on a new president if you ask me,” Zariah states with a mischievous smirk

Zariah is a very persistent kind of reporter that is why she even won medals as the best investigative reporter in Ocrya, but dealing with the president is a little risky.

“ I am going to bed...” Alora lazily told her while placing the glass of water she just gulped on the kitchen counter, Zariah just turned and looked at her as though scanning Alora with her glasses.

“ You sure you're okay?”

“ I am Zariah, why wouldn't I be?” Alora whined

“ I don't know, you tell me” She pokes

“ I just ruined someone's art, and he didn't even look at me when I apologized... I really feel guilty “ she explained looking very gloomy.

“ It is he you say?” she questions giving the assuming look.

“ Zariah please don't, I know you might imagine my entire life with what I just told you!” She told her and left right there. Zariah is the kind of friend who loves imagining fantasies and romantic stories for her friend, and she am just not in the mood to hear her describe a person she haven’t even seen his face
