Chapter 35 Private helicopter
After three days of asking Aurora to be his girlfriend, Arthur began to secretly plan a trip to one of his resorts with her to surprise her.
After making sure the resort was ready, he headed into Aurora’s room, and found her staring into her mirror blankly.
She was so lost that she didn’t know when he came in.
Slowly, he moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around her from behind, making her jolt.
“Oh gracious heavens, you scared me!” She uttered as they both giggled.
“What’s on your mind? You were so lost, you didn’t even know when I stepped in.” He responded, and she heaved a sigh, staring at his face through the mirror.
“Nothing. Was just thinking about this and that.” She answered, caressing his arms that wrapped around her.
“Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything, right?” He assured her.
A smile lit up her face as she turned to look at him, his arms still around her.
“I know, Arthur. I was just thinking about how perfect my life is now. Years back, I never thought a time when I’d feel so whole and happy would ever come. But since I gave birth to the boys, and finally got to know you, I have been the happiest version of myself.” She uttered, and then a worrisome expression came up her face.
“But?” Arthur asked as he noticed the change in her facial expression.
“I’m scared. I’m so scared that this is just for a while. I’m scared that this is a dream and one day I’ll wake up and realize that it’s all gone.” She answered, heaving a sigh.
Arthur cupped her face in his hand and raised her head to meet his.
“Listen, Aurora. This is not a dream, okay? And this isn’t ending soon. The boys love you, I love you, you love us. That’s all that matters. I must confess this is the best time of my life too, and I will never let it end.” Arthur reassured her, extracting a wide smile from her.
“I love you so much, Mr…”
“Hmm Hmm. I told you it’s just Arthur now.” He butted in, and she laughed.
“I love you so much, Arthur.” She corrected herself, embracing him and burying her head in his chest.
Arthur smiled and patted her back softly, staring into the mirror.
“C’mon now. It’s time to get ready.” He uttered.
Aurora creased her brows and disengaged from the hug to look at his face. “Get ready?” She asked.
“I’m taking you somewhere tonight. Get ready.” He responded, and Aurora raised her eyebrows in amusement.
“Really? Where are we going? I need to know so that I can know how to get ready.”
“No, you don’t need to know. It’s a surprise. I know you’ll figure it out.”
“Arthur, but…”
“I’ll be waiting for you in the living room at 8 p.m. Don’t keep me waiting.” He answered, planting a kiss on her forehead before heading out of her room.
Aurora stood still, staring at him until he was out of the room. She tucked in her lips and blushed hard as she felt butterflies in her belly.
She turned to look at her reflection in the mirror again, and saw how red her face had turned.
Instantly, she began to think of the best outfits in her closet. She rushed to the closet and ran her fingers through her dress hangers.
“I need something not-so revealing yet sexy.” She thought, as she laid eyes on a green, sexy, one long sleeve dress. Instantly, she fell in love with it.
She picked it out and laid it on the bed. She decided to use gold accessories to compliment the dress.
‘Maybe we are going to make love tonight.’ A random thought dropped in her head, and her eyes popped wide open.
Immediately, she reached for a new matching set of undies and threw it on her dress. Standing Akimbo in front of her bed, she nodded her head in satisfaction.
“Let’s do this.”
“Please keep an eye on the boys, okay. We should be back after a day or two. Make sure they don’t get themselves in trouble before we come back.” Arthur said to Theo, as he buttoned the wrist of his shirt.
“Yes, sir. But you’ll tell them you’re leaving, right?” Theo asked as they both headed down the stairs.
“Of course. I’m heading to their room now.” He answered.
Getting into their room, he met the triplets engaged in different things. Ryan was reading one of the story books on the shelf, Riley was trying to make a kite with paper, while Rowan just kept playing with his toy car.
Immediately they noticed Arthur was in the room, they dropped what they were doing and ran to him.
“Daddy, are you going out? You’re all dressed up.” Ryan uttered, and Arthur nodded, squatting in front of them.
“Daddy and mummy will be going out for a few days. Maybe one or two. But we promise, we’ll be back with lots of goodies for you.” Arthur assured them, adjusting Rowan’s nightwear.
“Get us more toys… and books!” Riley suggested, and Arthur nodded.
“Of course, I will. Be good boys, okay? Uncle Theo mustn’t report any of you to me. If he does, I’ll be forced to cease your toys.”
“No!” They chorused.
“Good. So don’t disobey Uncle Theo.” Arthur warned, kissing them goodbye before he headed out of their room.
While he headed back to the living room with Theo, Theo spoke up and said;
“Erm… Mr. Arthur. Before you leave, I’d love to say something.” He uttered from behind him, and Arthur turned to look at him.
“Okay?”
“I’d love to say congratulations, and that I’m so happy for you. I’m glad to finally see you happy.” He added, and Arthur nodded, letting out a faint smile.
“Thanks.”
It was 8 p.m, and Arthur stood in front of the stairs, waiting to see Aurora approach him, and she didn’t disappoint.
Walking down the stairs carefully with her dress which stopped about an inch above her knees, Arthur’s eyes shimmered in appreciation of her beauty.
Through the dress, he could see her sexy curves. The one he had always secretly admired.
‘Tonight, it won’t be a secret anymore.’ He thought, letting out a smile as they both stared at each other.
“You look absolutely stunning.” He uttered as soon as she got closer. He put out his arm and she wrapped her arm around it.
“And you look very handsome too.” She answered, admiring his all-black neatly tailored suit and the red tie around his neck.
“I haven’t seen you in a tie before.” She said, chuckling softly.
“Well, tonight is a special night.” He answered, as they began to walk to the door.
“The boys, I haven’t…”
“Don’t worry, beautiful . I already did.” Arthur answered, politely cutting her off.
Opening the door for her to step out, she saw an unfamiliar red car in front of the door, with the driver dressed in black and white.
He stood next to the back door and opened it as they approached.
“Is this a new car? I haven’t seen it before.” Aurora said as she settled in the car.
“You haven’t seen most of my cars, sometimes I just buy and leave them in the store. I pick them up whenever I need them.” He answered as he sat next to her.
The driver hopped in and in a short while, they hit the road.
Soon, the car stopped and Aurora looked around to see where they were, and it happened to be a large empty space. There were no buildings around, and the ground was tarred.
“Where are we?” She asked, looking at Arthur, who just answered with a smile. The driver opened the door on her side and she stepped out, still wondering what was going on.
Arthur approached her and stood behind her.
“Now, I’m going to need you to close your eyes.” He uttered, and Aurora rolled her eyes and shook her head.
“Again?” She asked, looking at him from above her shoulder.
“Again.” Arthur answered.
She closed her eyes, and Arthur went ahead to cover her eyes with his hands before they began to walk. They walked for a few minutes, and then they stopped.
He moved his hands from her eyes and stepped aside. “Open your eyes.”
Aurora slowly opened her eyes, and as soon as she saw what was in front of her, her jaw dropped and her eyes popped wide open.
‘A private helicopter?!’ She yelled in her head.
“Arthur.” She called in awe, and he chuckled.
“I thought why go by road when we can be in the air and feed our eyes with the beauty of Louisiana at night. This isn’t the main surprise though.” Arthur uttered boastfully.
Aurora broke into laughter and wrapped her arms around him in excitement.
“Thank you, baby.” She uttered, and Arthur lifted her from the ground and swirled, making her laugh even harder.
“Anything for you. C’mon now. Let’s start our journey.” He said to her as they both stared at the helicopter.
