Chapter 264 He Lied To Everyone

Alexander's POV

"Just us for now," Daniel assured us. "The testing center is bound by confidentiality agreements."

After thanking Daniel and ending the call, I looked around at the children. Their faces reflected varying degrees of anger and indignation.

"How could he do that to Mom?" Emma demanded, her usually cheerful face clouded with rage.

"He lied to everyone," Ethan added quietly, his small hands clenched into fists.

Even William, normally so reserved, looked personally offended by Scott's deception.

Kevin moved to Katherine's side, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Maybe this is for the best, sis. That man never deserved to call himself your father anyway."

Katherine nodded slowly. "You're probably right. But I can't help feeling angry about being deceived."

"I'll find him," I promised. "And when I do, he'll answer for every lie he's told you."

The Space Needle visit was forgotten as Ryan and I took over the living room, transforming it into an impromptu command center.

I contacted Jack to begin the search for Scott, while Ryan mobilized his tech team at Wise Technologies to scan global databases.

We sat side by side, our expressions mirroring each other's intensity as we cycled through computers, tablets, and phones, pursuing every possible lead.

Kevin took the other children to play games in the room, and Katherine joined them after making sure we had everything we needed.

Hours passed in focused silence, broken only by the occasional exchange of information. Then, almost simultaneously, Ryan and I looked up from our screens.

"Found him!" we announced in unison.

We'd tracked Scott to a high-end casino in Thailand, where financial records showed he'd been living lavishly for weeks—far beyond what his known resources should allow.

"He's not funding this himself," Ryan observed, scrolling through the data. "Someone's backing him."

I nodded in agreement. "The question is, who benefits from this deception?"

As we analyzed the information, I got up to grab drinks for us both. I returned with two cans of the same energy drink, handing one to Ryan.

"You drink these too?" he asked, looking surprised.

"Since college," I confirmed. "Your mother always hated them."

Ryan smiled slightly, opening his can. "She still does. Says they're nothing but chemicals and sugar."

A warm feeling spread through my chest at this small connection with my son.

Our moment was interrupted by Katherine, Kevin and the children's return. "Did you find him?" she asked, stepping into the living room.

"Thailand," I confirmed. "A casino in Phuket. And he's not alone—someone's financing his escape."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Katherine's eyes flashed with determination. "Let's go get him."

"My thoughts exactly," I said, already reaching for my phone to arrange the corporate jet. "He's going to apologize to you on his knees."

"I'm coming too," Ryan declared. "I have connections in Thailand through Wise Technologies. I can track his movements and make sure he doesn't slip away again."

Katherine nodded. "I'm going as well, and before either of you suggests I stay behind for safety, save your breath. This concerns me directly."

I knew better than to argue with that look in her eyes. Within an hour, we had flights arranged and bags packed, ready to depart.

Kevin intercepted us as we prepared to leave, his face etched with concern. "Can't you just report this to the authorities? Let them handle it?"

"Not yet," I explained. "If we alert officials, whoever's backing Scott might help him disappear again. We need to handle this quietly."

Kevin turned to me, his expression deadly serious. "Alexander, I'm trusting you with my sister and nephew. You'd better make damn sure nothing happens to them."

I met his gaze steadily. "Don't worry, Kevin. Even if it costs my life, I won't let anything happen to them."

The children gathered for goodbyes, Emma's eyes filling with tears as she hugged her mother tightly. "Come back soon, okay?"

"We will, sweetie," Katherine promised, kissing her daughter's forehead.

Ryan stepped forward, addressing Kevin with a confidence that belied his age. "I've arranged top-tier security through Wise Technologies. We'll be well-protected."

As we headed for the door, Katherine suddenly stopped. "Wait, I need to check on Anthony."

She made a quick call to the hospital, learning that Anthony's condition had worsened—he was sleeping more and more, with doctors fearing he might slip into a vegetative state. The nurse passed the phone to Selena, who was at the hospital.

"I won't be able to visit for a few days," Katherine explained to Selena. "Please keep me updated on any changes."

I took the phone briefly. "Tell the Garcia Group executives everything is stable. I'll check in remotely."

"Are you two planning your wedding?" Selena's question caught us off guard.

"No, we have an urgent matter to attend to," Katherine replied carefully before ending the call.
