Chapter 27
"You must have been really scared, weren't you? while thinking about how to get out of the place that restrains you and hoping to fly freely with the people who love you." Eli smiled as he looked at several sparrows chirping in the branches of the trees.
"Miss Eli, are you awake?" Aunt Morgana's voice was heard behind the door, yes... as usual, Aunt Morgana had to wake Eli and ask him to immediately get ready for the dining room.
"Yes auntie, I'll be ready soon!" Eli said, I don't know when he learned to lie, but it seems like a small lie like this isn't a big problem.
Fifteen minutes later Eli finished getting ready, he showered and put on the clothes he liked. A peach colored blouse with a slightly flared knee length skirt, Eli can even style her hair using a similar colored ribbon, she always wanted to look beautiful in front of James and who knows since when the feeling of always wanting to look perfect in front of someone appeared in her mind.
Eli went down the stairs in a hurry, afraid that James would finish eating and go to the hospital before he could talk to him. Eli didn't want to miss out on these happy moments because he knew James was very busy at the hospital and rarely came home recently.
"James..." Eli said, he shouted a little while controlling his irregular breathing.
"Good morning Eli?" James said with a smile, his sweet smile was the most effective medicine in the world.
"James, have you...have you finished breakfast?" Eli asked, for some reason he was nervous and for some reason his heart was beating when he saw James even though they had lived together for almost two years.
"Yeah, I just need to finish this coffee. "Why are you still standing there? Your favorite omelette is getting cold, come on and eat it quickly!" said James while opening a newspaper page and reading criminal news.
Eli sat and looked at the plate of omelettes made by Uncle Jacob. As usual he prayed before eating and took a sip of fresh milk in his glass.
"Um... James!" Eli said hesitantly, he didn't know whether to ask or not, but he really wanted to know James' opinion.
"Yes ?" James answered without looking, he remained focused on the newspaper he was reading.
“James… me… how do you think I look today? Are the clothes I'm wearing good?" Eli hesitated a little, but he didn't want to stop speaking. Eli really wanted to know what James thought about him, even if it was just his appearance.
"Um... I think it's beautiful." James answered briefly, he really didn't have the advantage to praise other people.
"Oh, I see ?" Eli wasn't very happy, because that was the answer he was used to hearing from James. James is not a man who is good at giving compliments, let alone making small talk, even though they are used to living together, Eli still feels that he is not very used to James' attitude. All this time, Eli always thought he was very special to James, but somehow now it was different.
Eli looked at the window which was starting to get wet with rain, the only thing he was thinking about right now was James. Eli really wanted James to treat him like before, like when they first met at the hospital and like when James brought Eli to this house.
“What was I thinking?! Am I expecting too much, so far James has been very good to me. Allowed me to stay at his house, gave me delicious food, taught me to read and write. What more could I expect from him?" Eli talked to himself, he didn't understand what he was really feeling right now. Feeling confused and worried at the same time and all this because of James.
This afternoon Eli intends to visit James in the hospital, for some reason he really misses James even though this morning they still met at breakfast. However, Eli realized that he had different feelings, feelings that for him were very special and what he expected from James was not just the love between a brother and sister or the love of a teacher and student, Eli's love was a little different. This is affection between a man and a woman.
"Are you sure you want to go there alone? Do you remember the place?" Aunt Elisa asked while giving James a packed lunch.
"Yes, I have often been there with James. Today I will take the bus alone.” Eli answered while accepting the package that Aunt Elisa gave him.
"Ouch... I was worried about letting you go alone, don't worry, Eli. Mr. James must also eat at the restaurant with his friends. If you come and Mr. James is not there, what? You might get lost there."
"Aunt Elisa, please don't treat me like a child anymore, I'm an adult. If I just take the bus to the hospital and meet James there I don't think there's a problem, I can do it myself. Besides, one day I will also marry James and I will continue to do this for him."
"What ? what did you just say?" Aunt Elisa asked, not believing what Eli said, marrying James, what does that mean?
“Nothing, forget it. Then I'll go first!" said Eli, starting to walk away, leaving Aunt Elisa who was still confused about her statement just now.
“Morgana… morgana…!” Aunt Elisa shouted, calling Aunt Morgana who was stirring a pot of soup in the kitchen.
"What are you screaming like that for?"
"You know what Eli said to me before he left?"
"What ? did he really go to the hospital?" said Aunt Morgana who didn't seem to care what Aunt Elisa would say to her, she was still busy with the soup she was cooking.
"Earlier she told me that she would marry Mr. James!" he said in a rush as if he didn't have enough time to say it.
"What…?" Aunt Morgana choked, she had just taken a sip of the still hot soup and immediately gushed it out.
