Chapter 28
Chapter 28
|| VALERIA s POV ||
My moans were drowned by a hand on my lips. Knox forced me to swallow down those whimpers of pleasure. Their questions kept ringing in my head.
Why were they looking for me? What business did I have with them?
Gideon hit my G-spot one last time. I climaxed hard, falling on his shoulders. His face darkened when the footsteps were getting closer. I leant against the basin counter, clueless. After a while, they were gone and Gideon held me down under his narrowed eyes.
He took a step back and watched the mess that he just created. His cum was sliding down through my thighs. I could barely look up to face him in shame. I clenched my thighs together before asking me in a low voice,
" What do we do now?"
Gideon rubbed his face thoughts, his veins popping out in deep tension. He blurted after some careful thought,
" You will come out with me. You will walk out with me together."
I felt a surge of pain in my heart. He was never fond of introducing me as his wife. But today he was doing it to safeguard me. I asked if I was swallowing hard although I knew the answer,
" And what will you say to them? Who am I to you?"
The question hung in the air like a time clock. I waited but no answer came out. In the end, I decided to laugh at myself. Gideon clenched his jaw tight, probably angered over my reaction but I said the truth. He muttered weakly, eyeing somewhere else,
" Friend! They will know that I am protecting you."
That insult was too much for me to endure. I turned around to face the mirror. After applying my lipstick, I grabbed my backpack and decided to leave for good,
" Thank you. I have lived without your protection. I am ready to die without your protection."
I didn't wish to disgrace myself any longer. Walking around with the biggest tycoon of New York had only one meaning to the people's eyes. Either I was his mistress or wife. Since our marriage was still a secret, I didn't want to be introduced as a mistress. I bid farewell to Knox who was fuming,
" Thanks again for the quickie."
Gideon kept shouting my name but I had already walked out of the washroom. As soon as I walked outside through the back door, my tears started falling down. How could I forget the man who swore to me a lifetime?
Gideon, the sweet guy who promised me the world had become the reason behind my tears. I couldn't blame him entirely. Part of it was my fault but It was hard to accept the reality. I kept walking my head down until I bumped into a car. A voice resounded from the car that made me look up,
" Stella??"
I found a pair of brown eyes behind the rimmed glasses. It was Lex Cornwell, one of my college friends. I almost couldn't recognize him because of those glasses. He got out of his car quickly, his eyes scanning me up and down in surprise. He gave me a small hug before speaking,
" Long time no see! I have been looking for you for a long while. I never thought that I would meet you like this."
I returned a sweet smile, forgetting the pain and suffering Gideon Silvestri made me through. He enthusiastically replied, pulling me to his car,
" Let's talk in the car. You should know why I am looking for you everywhere."

|| GIDEON's POV ||
" Where did she go?"
I asked one of my men. They all snapped their heads up, wondering about my question. One of them responded in fear, looking around carefully,
" Madam...we haven't seen her anywhere!"
I let out a curse of disbelief. How did she disappear so quickly?
I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted her in the club. She thought that I was being dramatic. It was one of the hotspots of the Mafia gathering. I built this place for connection. As the ex Mafia heiress, there was a good chance that she would attract attention. Her father wasn't a decent man. He had too many enemies who led them to his downfall. I didn't want her to get hurt even though we were enemies now.
I turned to my assistant, warning him in a low voice,
" You must find her. Make sure that everyone forgets about her arrival here."
My assistant nodded his head, going outside to fulfill his idea. I expelled an annoyed sigh. I hated myself for worrying about her. A while later, I spotted the head of the Dark leader coming on my way. He was in his middle age and had a whiskey in his hand, Gio Malfoy. He approached me with a smirk, twirling the whiskey in his hand.
I acted normally, greeting him formally,
" Hello Gio. You needed something?"
Gio let out a chuckle as he took my hand to shake. I prayed hard that he didn't notice or acknowledge Valeria. Gio rubbed his chin, staring up at the second floor where I took Valeria earlier,
" I saw a beauty with you. Where did she go? She looks.. somewhat familiar.."
If it wasn't for the safety of Valeria, I would have punched his face. I gave out a small laugh, pouring more whiskey for him,
" She? An old friend. Forget about her. She is engaged."
Gio hummed with a sardonic smile. Thankfully he didn't persist the matter any longer. Gio sipped from the new glass, muttering absentmindedly,
" I just...feel that I have seen her somewhere. I can't recall.. Perhaps at some party.."
I clenched my jaw so tight that it hurt my skin. I didn't want the fucker's eyes on my wife. Whoever planned to look for her, I wanted to burn them all. I gestured at my people who poured more glasses for him. Gio finished all of them before going drunk.
My assistant returned after a while, tension appearing on his features. He came over to whisper in my ears, my blood turning cold in rage,
" Madam isn't in the club. She has taken a cab and is gone already. No one has followed her, Boss. Don't worry."
Irritation flared through my nostrils. She was going to be my death one day. I nodded before instructing him to track her location. I wouldn't be at ease unless I saw her unharmed.
