Hundred and sixty-three
Angelina's POV

" You broke Danny's hand for touching me on set and now you are letting Nikolai go?" I asked in a fake disappointing tone and he chuckled.
" Did you set him up?" He asked but I shrugged." Well. You can't blame me for holding a grudge." I said and he laughed.
A real laugh.
The kind of laughter that makes someone look normal. Ordinary. Simple. I didn't see Boss Arnold, the ruthless God of New York City but a man.
A man standing in a kitchen ready to make food.
Ready to slice onions and wash vegetables.
It wasn't the first time he laughed in front of me but this felt like the first.
" You just laughed."
" You realize what you have done is a crime." He asked and I let go of him. My hand fell from his waist and he raised a brow as I folded them on my chest." Are you going to kill me for demanding justice?" I tilted my head to the side." Justice?" He said in between laughter.
His eyes stared into mine with amusement.
" Yes, justice." His gentle gaze looked back into mine and he gave his head a little shake.
" You realize Nikolai is one of my soldiers?"
" And I'm your wife."
" My wife?" He raised a cool brow. He took a step closer to me.
" I thought you wanted a divorce." His left hand slid around my waist and yanked me to himself.
" You are assuming things," I said and he nodded his head slightly. His thumb creases my side, sending ticking sensation through my body.
" He bought you a gift." His gaze shifted to behind me where the bag was seated.
" Why don't you open it and see if you still want his hand broken?"
" What if I don't like his gift?" I asked and he licked the corner of his lips, his eyes staring back at me as if thinking." I will give you whatever you want." A smile formed at the corner of my lips as I slid out of his hold to the kitchen table where I placed the bag.
I opened the bag and there was a red box sitting inside it.
I looked up at Arnold who was staring at me with a calm expression.
Nikolai better have something nice in there because if not, he was going to pay for all the times he betrayed my trust.
I grabbed the box out of the bag.
It was lighter than I expected. I frowned.
" I don't think he got me anything extraordinary," I said to Arnold and he shook his head slightly.
I unwrapped the box before finally opening it.
My face lit up the moment I saw what was in it." Did Nikolai really get this for me?" I wasn't anyone in particular.
" Now you are doubting my capabilities." Nikolai's voice came from behind me and I turned my head." Arnold is not the only one who can buy the world you know." He said with sarcasm, his face covered in a smile.
He got me a movie role.
A lead role in New York City!
" I put in a lot of money just to get you this role." He said arrogantly.
He might have spent a lot of money but I knew that was nothing compared to what he had to his name as an Arnold Wolfe's cousin.
" Thank you for spending so much on me," I said to him, my face covered in excitement.
" I didn't spend much, I only pulled some strings," Nikolai explained.
I turned my gaze to Arnold who had a stick of cigarettes buried in his mouth.
" I assume you no longer want my hand broken." My smile widened as I turned my face back to him." Not anymore. I love the present." I walked over to him and hugged him.
" Thank you," I whispered.
" You are welcome, Donna." I didn't miss the sarcasm in his voice.
He didn't touch me.
He just let me hug him. And I felt Arnold's gaze on me.
I pulled back with a smile. He got me a lead role and very soon I would be popular not only in Romania but in New York as well." Are we still cooking?" I asked and he dropped the burning cigarette in the sink.
" If you are still hungry."
" I am," I said almost immediately.
Nikolai left leaving Arnold and me in the kitchen.
I wanted to help him but he didn't want me to. He made me sit on the kitchen table and I watched him from there.
His handsome perfect figure moved elegantly around the kitchen with zero stress.
His movement felt natural, like he had been doing this for years.
" How many people have you cooked for?" I asked. Curious.
" Not many." He finished.
" What about the other girls you dated. You never cooked for them?"
He added salt to the food and stirred it for a few seconds before turning the stove off.
" Are you jealous?" He turned to look at me and I looked away from him." Look at me, Angelina." He ordered and I did.
I always did.
" I don't date. Not until you." He said in one breath.
" And Bianca?"
Wasn't she his ex?
" We only fucked a few times. We never dated. It was never serious and I was never going to be serious with her."
That sounded like something he would do.
" So now tell me, are you ready to eat or do you have other questions you want to ask?" He rested both his hands on my side. His hot breath fanned my face and I pulled my bottom lip into my mouth.
" Arnold."
" Does it still hurt?" He touched my face. His palm covered my cheek." Slightly." I said.
" I have something for you." He kissed my lips." What is it?" I asked and he kissed me again.
" Finish your food first." He whispered in my mouth.
" Arnold." Marco walked in on us but Arnold didn't pull back immediately.
He took his time ravishing my mouth for a few more seconds before pulling away and walking out with Marco.
He returned after a few minutes and we ate together.
