XAVIER'S POV

I didn't actually know that Alpha Connor was listening to my words,

"You should know that it's only these chains that holds me from killing you," I stuttered, staring into his eyes as the guards released their grasp on me.

"Isn't that interesting? How well can you be able to free yourself from these chains?" Alpha Connor mocked me, holding off the chains so it can touch my skin, it was painful but I couldn't groan in his presence.

"It's only a matter of time before you face that betrayal you speak so vehemently of" I chuckled wearing a smile on my face, knowing that it was only a matter of time before I convince Aurora to get me the keys and free me out of this dungeons so I can have them subdued until their superior returns.

"Hey watch your mouth, no one betrays me in my pack, they're all loyal servants" He boasted hitting his chest in concession to his words.

"Get mixed with the crowd, my people just once you'll see that they're just waiting for me to get released so we can show you the way out of our lands" I growled staring into his eyes, the guards were surprised at the manner in which I spoke to their Alpha.

"That's really disheartening" He chortled as he punched my stomach,

"Your maids are actually quite the moaners, they moan like a bird and I like that" he added as I suppressed my groans.

"About that I would make sure I return the favor" I stuttered,

"Our partner wouldn't allow that trust me" sometimes they call her partner and the other time they call her superior, it seems this was a kind of deal or something else.

"Let's see how this all ends up uncle... When I have my sword against your neck you would be sorry for yourself cause I would make sure you suffer thrice of whatever you did to me" I spat in his face feeling disgusted by his presence.

"Get him on his knees" He commanded,

"I'll show you how this would end up" he uttered as he turned to the guards.

"Bring that whip," listening to the sounds of the whip, I knew my skin would be having marks tonight.

"Each stroke is for the words that you said to me, kindly give him 24 lashes, that would surely keep him quiet" he ordered as he looked at me wearing a candid smile on his face. I closed my eyes, groaning at each thrust on my back, I was pissed over the fact that Alpha Connor's hard laughter couldn't get off my mind, it got stung like a bee in it's honey nest.

I sighed when I realized that they were done with it,

"Hey how do you feel?"

"I still have enough energy to slit your throat old man" Alpha Connor was pissed as he collected the whip, he flogged me until he was tired of raising the whip against my back.

I didn't actually know where this strength was coming from, my skin had already peeled in different parts of my back.

"Take him to his cell, he would have enough time hiding his groans," Alpha Connor laughed as he watched me sit in my cell, making the cell was locked then he walked away.

"You're really proving your strength to everyone which isn't justifiable" Christian uttered as he got closer to where I sat.

"Seriously that wasn't me that was the pains of the people, we don't know what's happening outside, it seems they kept us outside not to even get a glimpse of what's happening to our people" I divulged, knowing that what he did earlier was only a preamble, I'm wondering what happens outside the castle.

"You may be right, but why is it that you're the only one being punished, I've been here with you but I haven't stepped out of the cage but you have stepped out rapidly, isn't that suspicious?" Christian was right in his words, Alpha Connor just wants to return all the hate my father had on him.

"It isn't suspicious? He's trying to get into my head, say ill things about my capabilities. He just wants me to break down, lose my self confidence and reliance and then he knows what's on his next agenda" I knew he was trying to break me down, make me even want to think about suicide, I can't really forget the fact that I'm the ruler of this pack.

"I have an idea" Christian suggested,

"Which is?"

"Why don't you act like you've lost your self confidence and reliance, that way you get to know what's on his list and possibly even get yourself out of this hell hole" he had a beautiful idea but it was just an idea and not a plan.

"You're so smart Christian, but what if he finds out that I'm fooling him?" I had to be sure all areas were covered to avoid any lapses.

"That's where your acting skills would be put to good use, you have to make them believe that You've lost your self confidence and reliance, you would be afraid of Alpha Connor and his son, that way you could be even placed as a guard, with that you could plot a counter attack and free your people from this damnation" this was really a good stuff and I liked that for a fact.

"That's a brilliant idea but the thing is how do we start? How do I make them believe"

"When you're taken out of the cell act hot headed and when he hits you make sure he targets your head then you would be like apologizing to him, he would tell his father's about it and then you'll do same... The game is on" He truly had all areas covered I guess if he was in my shoes, he would have found his way out of these chains without any suspicions.

"I don't know what I would have done without a a brother like you" I appreciated his thoughts.

"Like we use to say back in our childhood days, I'm the brains" He uttered as he placed his hands through the space between the bars.

"And I'm the executor" we had a brother handshake just like when we were little.

"It's time to get ourselves out of these shackles?"

"The hunter would now be the haunted"
