193-She Is In Danger
Kedron:
“And what was the need to say all this in front of Sharlin’s father?” my father yelled after they had said goodbye to Sharlin’s after.
Denzel apologized and Sharlin had been told to return to her room.
Now he was questioning my actions.
I sat back in the same seat, watching my father with an indifferent expression.
I noticed Lady Andrea rubbing her palms a little too anxiously, clearly upset with me.
But she should have been thankful.
I knew she didn’t want Denzel to leave Sharlin, so in a way, I helped her.
Otherwise, there was no reason for Denzel to stay with Sharlin.
“I thought we were all being honest,” I said, shrugging my shoulders.
“Besides, Denzel needed a little help from me,” I said. “It seemed that, out of pure foolishness, he was about to lose his wife. So I gave them a reason to even things out. He made a mistake, she made a mistake, now they can be happy together.”
I kept smirking at my father, who clenched his jaw in frustration.
However, I noticed Lady Andrea’s face relaxed slightly, and I could tell she understood what I meant.
“Anyway, whatever happened, happened. I’m glad they decided to give their relationship another chance,” Lady Andrea said softly, placing a hand on her chest as she sat down.
“Well, then you better tell your son to keep his word,” my father replied sharply. “He didn’t even look guilty in front of his wife, the same woman he accused of cheating, when his past wasn’t nearly as clean. He’s the mate of a red wolf. If it were anyone other than Sharlin, she would never stay with a man like that, not when his life could be threatened by the danger surrounding him.”
My father spoke bitterly, mentioning Yuna in a way that made me roll my eyes.
He could be cruel, especially when it came to her.
The most innocent person had been wronged too many times.
Now they hated her only because she was a red wolf.
They had never cared about her, not even when she first arrived.
Her being a red wolf only gave them a reason to turn against her openly.
“Don’t worry, I’ll speak with him. My son listens to me,” Lady Andrea said in a taunting tone, giving me a quick glance.
“Anyway, what are we doing about Yuna? Now that Sharlin knows about her, I don’t want Yuna to return. It would only cause tension between her and Denzel,” she added.
As much as I wanted to believe Lady Andrea could be reasonable or polite, she always surprised me when she spoke.
“You don’t have to worry about that,” I said. “Very soon, your son will be living in the mansion near the woods, close to the headquarters. As for Yuna, nothing will stop her from coming home. This is her mansion.”
I hissed the last words, and my father looked ready to argue.
But I was already standing up and walking away.
I didn’t have time to fight with him or his first mate.
I already had plans to find Yuna.
I left the mansion, took a carriage to the shore, and boarded a boat heading for the island where the witch lived.
I had to speak to her about Yuna, to ask if she could help me find her.
She was a witch.
Even with her magic gone, there had to be some connection to her ancestors who might be willing to help.
While on the boat heading toward the small island, I couldn’t help but glance at the island of Goya, the one where the vampires lived.
As soon as I arrived, I got off and quickly made my way to find Yuna, to find the witch.
Since I already knew where she lived, it was easy to locate her cave.
When I entered, she straightened her back.
It looked like I had interrupted her rest, but she didn’t seem too bothered.
Instead, she gave me a weak smile.
“Future Alpha King Kedron, what do I owe the visit?” she asked, motioning for me to sit beside her.
I gestured for my warriors to set the things down nearby.
She noticed them and looked at me with confusion.
“I didn’t come alone. I brought gifts, just small things that might help and make your life easier,” I explained.
She nodded, looking grateful.
“What is it, Kedron? What did you come here for? Is Yuna all right? Did they give her a hard time?” she asked.
Tears filled my eyes almost instantly.
It had been days since I’d last seen Yuna.
“I don’t even know who has her. I don’t even know what they’ve done to her,” I said, my voice trembling.
The witch’s eyes widened in shock.
“What do you mean by that? Did they arrest her and take her away from you?” she asked.
I shook my head.
“Worse. She was abducted from our castle, and now I don’t know where to find her,” I said, my tone shaky.
“Oh my, I should have known something like this would happen. Being a red wolf means facing hatred from everyone. So you’re here to ask me where she might be?” she said.
Her understanding caught me off guard. At least she was direct.
At least she didn’t see Yuna as a monster.
“Yes. Can you please help me in any way?” I asked quietly.
For the first time, a werewolf sat in front of a witch, looking completely helpless.
She watched my face for a few seconds, then reached out and took my hand.
Closing her eyes, she began to whisper something under her breath.
I watched her for at least three minutes before she finally let go of my hand and gasped.
“What? What is it? Is my Yuna okay?” I asked in a panic, leaning forward.
My voice was shaky as I demanded to know what she had seen, what had terrified her so much that she looked like she’d seen a ghost.
She stared at me in silence before speaking.
“Whoever has her is planning to mate with her on the full moon,” she said.
Her words made my heart sink deep in my chest, and rage immediately took over my veins.
