Chapter 29

Chapter 29
She sat in her room cladded in the designer lehenga. Her face was adorned with flawless makeup and her hair was pinned in a loose bun securely while two strands were teasing her cheeks on both sides. Her veil rested on her head. Her hands and feet are adorned with beautiful henna designs. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. She looked breathtakingly beautiful and why not, today is her marriage. Her heartbeat accelerated with the thought she was going to be his bride.

She was anticipating just before yesterday she was not happy with her marriage and now she was going to marry the man she desires. She was nervous that would be an understatement. She grabbed her phone and checked the messages but he still didn't reply to her. She wanted to talk with him before marriage but he still didn't reply to her nor did he contact her.

A knock sounded on her door and she fixed her veil before saying ''come in'' Tanya and Nia came to her side with mischievous smiles. "OMG Shanaya, you're looking so beautiful" Nia cooed in excitement and Shanaya smiled at her. "You look like such a gorgeous bride," Tanya said, kissing her cheeks.

"Thank you" she smiled shyly. "Now you're even blushing" Nia teased her and Tanya joined her. "So, are you ready to lose your V card?" Tanya gave her a wink and Shanaya went flustered. Her eyes went wide in horror as she gaped at Tanya and then Nia with flushed cheeks.

"Look, it will be a little painful for the first time," Tanya said in a hushed tone in her ears making her eyes go wide in horror. "Shut it. Don't scare her. Shanaya let's take you downstairs, uncle is waiting for you" Nia said and they walked out of her room.

She descended the stairs with small steps because of her heavy lehenga and her veil was also disturbing her view. As she reached the hall Rajeev came in front of her.

"Dad" She smiled while a lone tear escaped her eyes. "My princess is looking beautiful," he said, placing a kiss on her forehead. "It's time already. Let's go" he said and she grabbed his hand while walking with him.

Rajeev walked her to the pavilion where Avyaansh was already sitting beside the priest. She looked up and her eyes clashed with his icy blue orbs, who were already staring at her sitting there donning a white sherwani looking handsome.

Her stomach exploded with butterflies and her heart skipped a beat. She ever so slowly averted her gaze and walked towards him with a wildly beating heart.

On the other hand, Avyaansh was stunned. The moment his eyes locked with her and as he took into the beauty standing in front of him as his bride he was lost in that moment. That moment he found her standing there as his bride he was lost in her. His heart skipped a beat when she averted her gaze shyly.

Her face had a minimal amount of makeup but the tint of her plump lips was looking tempting. She was looking breathtakingly beautiful in her bridal attire.

All he just wanted was to look at her to his heart's content. He just couldn't take his eyes off her. When she ambled towards him was when he came out of his reverie. She was walking towards him with slow steps and his eyes followed her every step.

But his facial features went rigid when he remembered the promise he made to Natasha a day before Neil was arrested. She was the daughter of his enemy, he won't show mercy on her and make her life a living hell. It was all decided long before, he can't back off now. Even if it means she would be hurt brutally he will not stop.

The wedding was a private affair so very few people were present there and no media was allowed inside the mansion.

She closed her eyes when he filled her hairline with vermilion. A tingling feeling was erupting in her stomach. A chill ran down her spine. She was stiff sitting beside him and could hear the priest chanting mantras. Her heart thumped in her ears while she clasped her palm to stop the shivering of her hands, she was nervous that would be underestimated.

She was getting married to him. She felt shivers running down her spine when he tied the nuptial chain around her neck.

"You can take the blessings of elders" the priest announced when the marriage was done. Her fate was sealed with him. Now she became his.

His wife.

"I have treated her like a princess, please take care of my daughter," Rajeev said, looking at Avyaansh while She was a crying mess sobbing on her father's chest. Tears rolled out of her eyes while she was hugging her father "I won't let you down sir," Avyaansh asserted, nodding his head and smiling at him, what Rajeev felt to detect the evil glint in his eyes.

"We are getting late," he said, pulling Shanaya away and breaking their emotional moment. More tears rolled down her cheeks as she nodded her head. "Please take care of yourself dad," she said to him and he nodded, smiling at her. Everyone has tears in their eyes. Nia and Tanya also cried hugging her tightly.

Reema bi embraced her and cried with her. "Please keep her happy son. She's very sensitive" Reema bi said, glancing at Avyaansh with expectancy and he nodded at her while taking blessings from her. "I will keep her happy. Please don't worry about her" he affirmed, giving her an assuring smile and grasping Shanaya's hand.

"Let's go," he said and she nodded while muffling her cries. Rajeev walked them to the car and after giving a last glance at her home she sat inside the car. Avyaansh sat beside her in the backseat while the driver drove off.

She sniffed while wiping her tears but more tears poured out of her eyes. They were driving for a while now. Both of them didn't utter a word. He kept stealing a glance at her while she was drowned in her own wonderland. How everything changed in her life when she accepted her fate with Neil. She was feeling soothed now but she was anxious sitting beside him as his wife. They didn't get to converse before but now she was alone with him as his wife.

'He was her husband now' This thought alone made butterflies explode in her stomach. She peeked a glance at him and found him busy on his phone with a hard expression marring on his face. She wondered why he was not saying anything.

A big mansion came into her view breaking her chain of thoughts as the car halted on the porch. She fixed her veil while Avyaansh got out of the car and shut the door so harshly that she flinched at the loud sound. She looked out of the car window where he went and a frown etched on her forehead.

He didn't open the door for her like last time, nor did he welcome her. She looked at the driver who opened the door for her and she got out while clutching the side of her lehenga.

"Madam please this way" the driver took her suitcase out of the car's trunk and gestured to her to follow him. She took small steps while stumbling a little because of her heavy lehenga. The driver put her luggage on the doorstep and left after bowing to her. She was standing there looking around for him and found him descending the stairs.

"Don't stand there, find a corner for yourself" he said coldly. He had already changed into a black shirt and black pants. She was taken aback by the sudden change in his tone.

Giving her a vicious glance he took steps ready to walk out of the mansion when he felt a tug at his wrist and his step halted. "Where are you going?" She asked meekly, confusion visible on her face.

"None of your business" he spat and harshly jerked her hand away. Something stirred in her heart at his harsh behaviour but she swallowed the lump forming in her throat. Her eyes burned but she refused to cry in front of him.

She saw him vanishing from her sight and a tear which she was trying to stop rolled down her cheeks. She didn't expect his harsh behaviour towards her on the first day of their wedding. She thought he would be happy as her but the difference in his attitude didn't sit well with her.

'Why does he appear strange suddenly?' She thought while tears soaked her cheeks and her lips pouted. Her nose turned red as she was weeping silently.

She dabbed her cheeks and looked at her surroundings not knowing where to go. The mansion was so huge from inside, a big chandelier was hanging in the middle of the hall. A huge staircase was in the middle; only the dim lights were helping her sights to make out the way.

She sat on the settee in the living room and decided to wait for him. She needed to talk with him. He can't just be mad at her. She didn't commit any crime. He can't ignore her, they are married now.

She walked downstairs tying her nightgown and yawning. "You?" She was baffled seeing him here at this hour. Avyaansh rolled his eyes and walked past her into the living room.

"It's your wedding night, so what are you doing here?" Natasha questioned him while walking up to him after closing the main door. She was surprised to see him here when he should be at his home with Shanaya. She had slept but the continued ringing of the doorbell disturbed her. And when she opened the door she found him standing at her doorstep. "Not now Natasha. I am in no mood for your jokes'' he spat and poured a drink for himself.

"What about that guy? What to do with him" She asked, sitting next to him on the barstool in the living room. "I don't want him out soon" He chewed his words while his hold tightened on the glass. He still remembers how Neil cornered Shanaya in the jewellery shop and she looked so scared of him. He will make sure to teach him a good lesson. "Don't worry, I have made the arrangements. Police will take good care of him and our men are also there. Rajeev Singhania won't reach out to him, not until you want" Natasha said stressing on the last part and Avyaansh nodded at her chugging on his drink.

"Finally the game begins. I am looking forward to seeing the day of his destruction" she let out a chuckle. "That day is not so far. Now I have his weakness in my clutch, his daughter, the key to my plan" Avyaansh smirked and chugged down his drink, thinking about Shanaya and the cruel ways to hurt her.

"You should go home now, I need to sleep," she said, standing up and walking upstairs to her room. "Close the door on your way back" she said out loud and closed the door of her room and lay down.

He has a spare key to her house as he often comes to her place. Natasha has lived alone in a luxurious apartment since they started their business here. He sat there for a long time drinking nonstop and passed out on the barstool.
