Chapter 27
Chapter 27
Avyaansh didn't want Neil to see her in this dress when she was looking this breathtakingly beautiful. He felt the urge to hide her. His brows knitted in confusion at his own thoughts. "Okay, I had chosen another dress for you. I am leaving it here so try it also" Neil said and they heard his footsteps fading away.
Once Avyaansh was sure Neil was gone. He opened the door and picked up that dress and gave a disgusting look, looking at the dress. "It won't look good on you. That one is better" Avyaansh said when he gave keen attention to her dress.
She looked breathtakingly beautiful. Her lehenga was below her navel and her blouse perfectly fit her curves. Her slender neck was in view. The crimson-red color highlighted her creamy white skin. He could barely take his eyes off of her.
Shanaya lowered her eyes, feeling his burning gaze on her. "Please leave now, I need to change," she said in a small voice without meeting his gaze. He held her chin between his thumb and forefinger and made her look at him and he gave her a teasing smile before going out from there and she sighed.
"What took you so long?" Neil asked with a raised brow when he found her in her clothes. "You didn't try those outfits," he asked. His eyes narrowed on her looking at her flushed face and the licking of her lips.
"It's perfect, let's go now," she said and took a step walking past him when he stopped her. "What happened to your neck?" he asked and she halted in mid. Her back was facing him. She licked her lips nervously before fixing her collar and turning to him.
"I hit the table accidentally and got hurt," she said hurriedly and walked before him while he followed her. She selected that same dress she tried and Neil paid the bill. They stepped out of the boutique and sat inside his car.
Avyaansh was looking at their car disappearing from his side. Once they left he drove back to his office. Only two days were left for the marriage and he had a lot of things in his hands to do.
Neil stopped the car at the porch of the mansion. She took the bags, got out of the car, and walked inside the mansion while he drove off. Shanaya placed all the bags on the couch in the living room and slumped down beside them with a sigh.
Her mind drifted to the events that happened in the boutique and once again his thoughts clouded her mind. That unknown feeling she started having for him. Those tingling feelings whenever he was close to her. "No, it's wrong," she murmured to herself. She was getting married to someone else and having feelings for another person is wrong for her.
She may not love Neil but she can't stoop this low to cheat on her partner. It's wrong in her eyes. Although she liked Avyaansh there's no lie but her father is her priority. She would do anything for him. She only had her father in the name of parents. She didn't have any memory of her mother.
She only saw her father taking care of her. Once she asked where's her mother? Why don't she live with them? Why she didn't have her mother like other kids? Rajeev's eyes filled with tears she couldn't see her father crying so she didn't wanted time ask further but Rajeev answered her that her mother died right after her birth and Rajeev removed all her memories from the house because it reminded him of hers.
Rajeev raised her all alone and gave her the love of both mother and father and it was the reason he never married in his life because he didn't want to bring a stepmother for her. So how could she become selfish and not think about her father who made her first priority in his life. All these thoughts were playing in her mind like a reel again and again.
She was thankful enough to her father for accepting her request and keeping this marriage a private affair and once the marriage would be done they would announce it to the media. She requested her father that she didn't want a big fat wedding as every other girl dreamed of. She wanted to keep it simple, just close friends.
Shrugging all the negative thoughts she stood up and went to her room to take a relaxing shower after the chaotic day. She took off her clothes and stood under the shower stall, the hot water running down her body relaxing her taut muscles. She felt like standing under the shower for some more time. A content sigh escaped her mouth and she massaged her scalp with her fingertips thoroughly.
After taking a much-needed shower she wiped her face and hair with the towel and wrapped another towel around her form and walked out of the washroom. Her eyes went wide in shock as she looked into the bathroom mirror and found a mark on her neck that had turned dark due to the hot shower just above her mole. His mark stood out proudly against her unblemished skin.
She was astounded for a moment when she realised he deliberately gave her a hickey in that changing room and Neil would have caught her almost. She mentally scolded herself for getting carried away in the heat of the moment. She's getting married to someone else. She shouldn't do such things but how easily he manipulated her. His closeness always made her speechless. She couldn't think of anything if he was close to her.
Taking a deep breath she came out of the washroom with new determination. She won't let him cross the limit next time. It's wrong.
"What does he want to prove? He knows that I am getting married then why is he doing this?" She muttered and changed into a pink hoodie and black jeans. She called her friends at her place and told them everything regarding Avyaansh's proposal and her marriage to Neil.
When Tanya said she should talk with her father Shanaya denied saying "Dad never asked me to do anything. He needs my support right now. I can't turn blind eye to him" in her weak moment they both were her supporting pillars. She couldn't help crying her heart out in front of them.
What she didn't tell them about Neil blackmailing her for this marriage. She knew if this thing got out her father will be the one paying for the mess and she didn't want that to happen.
It was already 9 at night when Avyaansh reached his mansion. He made his way upstairs to his room to freshen up. He lives alone in his big mansion with a few butlers who only come to the mansion for cleaning and leave after their work. He had his most trusted people around so he didn't have to worry about things.
He always cooks for himself as he doesn't like others' handmade food or eats outside mostly with business delegates in lunch meetings or dinner meetings. He stood under the shower stall and took a relaxing shower running his hand through his hair. His hand taking his hair backward, cold water cascading down his broad muscles running through his abs. He walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel around his torso after taking shower.
His phone rang and he picked up the call. "Say," he said as he wiped his wet hair with another towel in his hand. "Sir the reports have been delivered to you," his man said and he replied in affirmed before disconnecting the call and sliding into his sweatshirt and pants.
The doorbell rang and he walked out of his room going downstairs. He opened the door and took the file and the brown envelope from the boy who worked for him with his tech team. He closed the door behind him and went to the couch in the living room with the brown envelope and file in his hand.
He finally got this evidence in his hand he was waiting for. A smirk adorned his face as he looked at the reports. He placed the file and envelope in his safe and walked into the kitchen to make dinner for himself.
In twenty minutes he cooked pasta and had it alone. After dinner, he stood up taking the used dishes. He walked into the kitchen and dumped the used dishes in the sink. He sat on his bed with his laptop working on a presentation. He barely sleeps for 3 or 4 hours at night. Normally, people need to take at least 8 hours of sleep in a day but he only sleeps 3 hours and mostly works or drinks, his two favorite things.
As he typed on his laptop and checked some important emails his mind drifted to her thoughts. Suddenly his fingers halted in mid. The whole day he kept himself busy with work and back to back meetings just to get rid of her thoughts which had started bothering his heart.
But as he was alone in his home her thoughts surrounded him, again. How his heart would start beating rapidly with their proximity. How he lost his cold demeanor with her.
How innocently her body submitted to his touch and she was going weak on her knees. He couldn't help a smile creeping on his lips recalling that moment and a frown appeared on his forehead at the same time. He was confused by his own actions. On one side his mind would say he was doing right. It was the plan from the beginning. But on the other hand, his heart would feel bad for her and some other mixed emotions which he couldn't name.
Next day;
She sat down on the couch in her room after removing her mehendi as it was dried and stared at her hand filled with henna designs beautifully. Her mehandi ceremony was done today evening and tomorrow would be her wedding.
She couldn't help feeling hollow inside her heart. Tears escaped her eyes and fell on her palm. Everything was happening so fast she was feeling scared and nervous. Rajeev was relieved that everything was going as per his plan and no hurdles had occurred till now. He just hoped this wedding would be done successfully then he will proceed with the deal with RM Holdings.
Shanaya was glad Neil didn't show up in front of her. He was busy with Rajeev in the company and property issues as next week she would be turning 21 then they can have her sign on the property papers. She was unaware of all the things and drowned in her own thoughts. The only thing running through her mind was she deceived someone and broken his trust and this is the thing that is eating her from inside.
Crying won't make anything change. This was her fate now and she was ready to accept it. She wiped her tears and took deep breaths to calm herself. She didn't see her father for quite a while so she decided to call him.
She picked up her phone from the dressing table and dialed his number and waited patiently but a frown etched on her forehead when he didn't pick up the first call. She dialed again but still, the call went unanswered like before.
Rajeev got a call from Neil asking him to come to the office and he had to leave in a hurry. The way Neil sounded tense on the phone call made Rajeev alert. Rajeev sat in his car and ordered his driver to drive to the office.
After half an hour he reached the office and directly went to his cabin and found Neil pacing in the cabin like a bull. "Da…" Rajeev eyed him tilting his head in a warning and Neil got the cue. "Uncle… there's a problem," Neil said after composing himself.
The way he was sweating and raking his hair harshly made Rajeev suspicious. "What happened, is everything alright?" Rajeev asked, walking to his chair and taking his seat.
"I…I fucked up big time. I…I am sorry I didn't know how it happened…" Rajeev cut him off with his raised voice. "What did you do this time Neil?" Neil was almost startled for a moment seeing Rajeev so angry. On the other hand, Rajeev was getting tense.
