Chapter 24

Chapter 24
"So, everything is going according to the plan?" Natasha asked, taking her seat in front of the wooden desk in his cabin. "You should know better as you kept a watch on me," Avyaansh said calmly while working on his laptop. They were in the office and Natasha came to his cabin to confront him.

"It seems easy to trap her as she's already in love with you. Just one kiss and she went all mushy in your arms, no?" Natasha mocked rolling the paperweight in her hand. Her gaze was dead set on him. Avyaansh's head snapped at her and his jaw clenched. "I told you it was a part of the plan. I had to make it look real" He gritted every word.

For the last two days, Natasha had annoyed the hell out of him by bringing up that topic again and again. Although he didn't plan for that kiss, it was the heat of the moment and he got carried away. But the thing is that he didn't want to define himself so he just lied about it as a part of the plan.

Natasha sensed the thing which Avyaansh was unaware of. She didn't want him to distract from the plan and forgot about why he was here. "But that was quite a fascinating watch. I never saw you going soft for someone" she again said only to trigger him.

"Natasha, stop it, say what you want, stop running around the bush" he growled, looking at her. "I want you to remember what you promised, not one person but two" she snarled while banging her fist on the desk and leaving his office.

His chest heaved up and down as he was taking harsh breaths to control his fury. Everything is still going according to plan but he has a change of heart which Natasha didn't like.

His intercom buzzed, bringing his attention. He picked up the receiver and answered the call. Tarun informed him about the deal with Singhania and their contract is yet to be signed. "Get the car ready, we will be leaving for Singhania heights" he ordered and hung up the call.

Here in Singhania heights;

Rajeev was still disturbed about the property will and how Shanaya reacted but in the end, she agreed because of him. He cared about her a lot. But he could see her gloomy face even when she tried to hide.

He was in deep thought when his intercom buzzed. "Sir, Mr. Malhotra is here should I send him in or ask him to wait," the receptionist asked from the other side.

"Send him in" he ordered and cut the call. "Sir, please come Mr. Singhania is waiting for you," the receptionist said politely and guided him through the way.

"I thought we were about to sign the deal at the party. But you left without saying anything sir" After a while Avyaansh let out, intertwining his fingers and leaning on the desk.

"Sorry for the inconvenience. There was an emergency that needed my attention" Rajeev said politely.

"Alright, should we proceed with the deal?" He asked and Rajeev tensed visibly. Avyaansh narrowed his eyes in skepticism when Rajeev and David shared a look.

"What happened Mr. Singhania? Is there anything I should know about?" He asked. "Avyaansh the thing is, I can't sign the deal for now," Rajeev declared and Avyaansh's jaw clenched.

His plan can't backfire now. He still needs to take Shanaya on his side. "Mr. Singhania as you know already but I still say this again…" Avyaansh stated leaning on the desk with his both hands intertwined and his keen attention on him.

"This deal is very important to me. It will not only gain me profit but also you will get benefits with this hotel project. This deal is very important for both of us. So make your decision wisely" Avyaansh said and Rajeev seems to agree with him.

"I am aware of that. But there were some family affairs that I needed to look after before signing the deal. How about we proceed with this deal after a week" Rajeev said and before Avyaansh could reply there was a knock on the door after hearing 'come in' they walked into the cabin. "Uncle, we have selected the ring" Avyaansh's head snapped at the direction of the voice and his eyes widened in realization.

Shanaya and Neil walked inside the cabin. Avyaansh's eyes narrowed at their intertwined hands. David walked out of the cabin, closing the door behind him. "Well that's perfect, we don't have much time left," Rajeev let out looking at the small box where there was a beautiful diamond ring inside.

Shanaya looked at Avyaansh in surprise, more like she was not expecting him to be here. His eyes darted toward her and the ring with a scrutinizing gaze. His eyes zeroed in on their hands which Neil was forcefully grasping and Shanaya was desperately trying to withdraw her palm from Neil which he didn't let her.

"Avyaansh, I would like to invite you to the wedding. My daughter is getting married this week. It all happened all of a sudden but I will make this wedding talk of the town" Rajeev said proudly, patting Neil's shoulder.

His eyes snapped at Rajeev momentarily when he again fixed his gaze on her. Red. Red was all he could see at that time. And the source of his anger was none other than Shanaya herself. She felt cowering in guilt and fear. Everything went blurry for her. What remained in front of her was him, looking at her with disgust.

"wedding?" Avyaansh scoffed his burning gaze dead set on her as if sensing his stares she looked up only to lower her eyes in remorse. "Yes, Shanaya and Neil are getting married, '' Rajeev clarified.

She couldn't breathe in there. She felt suffocated. Suddenly the room felt too claustrophobic for her as if her breath was stuck in her throat. The back of her eyes burned and tears threatened to come out.

"I need to use the washroom" saying that she made her way out hurriedly while stumbling on her footing but managed to get out of the cabin.

A traitor tear escaped her eyes and that was it. Tears one after another escaped her eyes and blurred her vision. The corridor was empty and she didn't bother to wipe them off.

Locking herself in one of the cubicles she cried her heart out. This was not what she wanted, she never wanted to give someone false hope and shatter their heart. It's wrong, it's wrong on her part to make false promises and break them later. Her cries turned hysteric while her sobs got louder only.

How beautiful a fairytale her life was just two days ago. His surprise date, him proposing to her, the kiss they shared, it was a beautiful experience of her life. But now everything is ruined and she is the one ruining everything with her own hands.

It was after a while she turned the doorknob and walked out of the cubicle. Turning on the tap she splashed some water on her face and wiped her face.

As she glanced into the mirror her breath hitched and her gaze collided with blue orbs blazing in fury. There stood Avyaansh just behind her clenching his jaw. His facial features went rigid and his eyes were turning almost black in outrage.

Betrayal.

Was what he felt. He thought he was being unfair by using her as a pawn but how wrong he was. Here she betrayed him after making him feel like she likes him but it turned out to be the contrary.

She was getting married to someone else and here he was waiting for her decision. She shivered visibly darting at his reflection in the mirror. The clenching and unclenching of his jaw and his eyes turning black in pure rage.

Clutching her forearm he yanked her and turned her towards him harshly. She crashed with his hard sculpted body. He took threatening steps towards her invading her personal space and towering over her little form while he appeared like a beast, an angry beast, ready to kill her in one strike.

"Such a betrayer you are,'' he chewed his words while looking at her with disgust. She blinked rapidly to understand what he said. He clutched her arm in a bruising grip that would surely leave a mark.

"Why did you do this to me?" He growled towering over her. She felt like a deer caught in headlights and he was a predator. "A…Avyaa…" she flinched badly when he barked at her "Don't you dare to take my name, you're just like every other girl. I was so wrong about you" she stared at him unbelievably while a tear flowed down her cheeks.

"If you were that eager to marry him then why did you give me false hope, huh?" He snarled, jerking her towards him even if it was possible. She shook her head no while her pooled tears fell from her eyes. "I…I didn't…It…" she desperately tried to form a sentence but her sobs were preventing her from saying it.

"Believe me" she whispered at last while a sob broke on her lips. If he was not standing close to her he wouldn't have heard her. "What was all that then? Who is he?" Avyaansh questioned, gritting his teeth in anger. "You shouldn't have done that to me" he shook his head while saying and leaving her abruptly her hand held the slab or she would have fallen.

"You betrayed me," he said, taking back steps towards the door while his eyes were locked with hers. She sobbed, shaking her head negatively while her lips quivered, and just like that he left from there.

"I never wanted to,'' he heard her say as he was still behind the door holding a door knob. His knuckles turned white with the pressure he was holding the knob.
