Chapter 14

Chapter 14
Morning breeze rustled through the curtains and fanned on her face. She shivered slightly with the cool breeze and turned to the other side. Her eyes flickered before she opened her eyes and sat up. She sighed remembering yesterday's incident that shook her entire form. Getting off the bed she went to the washroom to freshen up.

As she reached downstairs for breakfast she found her father setting the dining table. It was one of his favourite things to do. Whenever he's at home he likes to cook for his daughter and spend some family time.

"How are you feeling now?" He asked as he saw her standing near the staircase. "Much better," she mumbled, moving toward the dining table and grabbing her seat.

"I prepared this soup for you. Drink this and finish all the dishes" when Rajeev announced Shanaya went wide-eyed, noticing the dishes in front of her. "Are you serious? I could hardly eat. And this chicken soup eww I am not sick dad'' Shanaya made an eew face and Rajeev laughed at her a little. The father and daughter duo were having their breakfast with a little chit-chat.

Rajeev was grateful that she was fine and didn't have any panic attacks. But the thing was the driver went missing just after the blast and who saved her was bothering him. "Finish your breakfast," Rajeev said and at that exact moment, he got a call. "Hello," fishing out his phone he answered the call while digging in his food.

After hearing from the other side he replied "I can't come to today Avyaansh, my daughter is not well" Hearing his name she stopped for a moment. "Is it okay for you to come here?" Rajeev asked when Avyaansh offered him that he would come over if Rajeev had no problem.

"Okay then, that would be fine for me," he said while exchanging a few more words the call was disconnected.

'Is he coming?' She thought. Her stomach erupted with butterflies while an unknown emotion crept over her heart. "Eat Shanaya" She glanced at her father when he said and bobbed in reply.

"Finish your breakfast and take your medicine, I see you are being neglected these days" he pointed out and she bit her lips, caught up with a lie. "I am done, I am going to my room," she said, wiping her mouth and getting up from the table.

"Remember to take your pills," Rajeev said and she nodded "okay dad" and went to her room with her uneven heartbeats. God knows why she was feeling this way but his mere mention was doing things with her which is unknown to her.

"He's coming" she whispered as she sat on a couch in her room with her bunny toy. Unknown to her, she was smiling weirdly while thinking about him.

Here Avyaansh was in his office gazing at her earring which he kept with him from the club night. "So you are not well, hmm," an evil smirk spread on his face with his eyes narrowing at the earring in his hand.

"Let's give you a surprise, daddy's princess" he swiveled on his chair while keeping the earring inside the drawer. He picked his coat from the chair and grabbed his car keys and strolled out of the cabin.

As he was about to start the car he got a message from Natasha. 'You haven't told me about the accident. Seems like we need to have a talk' he sighed, shaking his head. He didn't find it important to tell her about the car blow and him, saving her was something which was not in the plan. Still, he didn't know why he did help her.

They need to talk after she comes back from the US. Keeping this in mind and shoving his phone inside his pocket he drove to the Singhania mansion.

As his car stopped on the porch of the mansion. He got out while fixing his cost and removing his shades. When he was about to walk inside he felt someone's gaze on him. On cue, he looked up and their eyes met for a nanosecond.

He caught her peeking behind the curtains. Her breath hitched and she immediately hid behind the curtains but was too late. He already caught her.

"Did he see me?" She asked herself and once again glanced behind the curtains of the window and sighed in relaxation when she saw him going inside.

Smirking inwardly he walked inside the house where Rajeev was already present in the living room. A butler led him towards the living room and left after bowing his head. "Welcome, Mr. Malhotra," Rajeev said, ambling towards him and shaking hands with him.

"You" hearing the voice they both turned towards the source of the voice and found Reema bi standing near the kitchen door. "Reema bi, you know him," Rajeev asked and Reema bi nodded smiling at him.

"He is the one who saved Shanaya and brought her home" Reema bi answered and Rajeev was surprised to hear this. "I had called you numerous times but the call couldn't connect," Avyaansh explained, turning to him.

"Well, I didn't check my phone. Anyways, thank you so much Mr Malhotra for helping her" Rajeev thanked him. "Son, I couldn't thank you properly yesterday—" Reema bi was cut off by him. "It's fine aunt. You don't have to thank me" Avyaansh said and Reema bi couldn't help smiling.

"Let's talk in my study," he said and Avyaansh nodded. Rajeev sauntered towards his study followed by Avyaansh.

The meeting was going on while Shanaya was impatiently roaming in her room. She strode out of her room when curiosity burned her inside and walked towards the corridor of the study.

After contemplating her inner debate she peeped from the window of the study in the passageway. He was sitting across the wooden desk while her father was sitting in his swivel chair.

From the way he conversed with, she couldn't make out what they were talking about. His eyes landed on her, almost hitching her breath while her eyes went wide. She abruptly hid behind the wooden door of the window, almost caught by him.

His phone rang at the exact time and he excused himself to attend the call. When she didn't hear anything she peeked inside the study but only found her father going through some files.

When she was about to leave he appeared out of the blue and confined her with his arms against the wall while the other one was gripping the phone. "Not now" his voice was low while his eyes bore into her.

Brown against blue.

She frowned at his command. "Not now, arrange the appointment after this week" he again said, peering at her. It was then she knew he was talking on the phone call but staring at her.

"Alright" saying this he hung up the call and jabbed his phone inside his pocket. "What were you doing?" He inquired, arching his left brow and clasping his both hand on either side of the wall blocking her escape. She swallowed, gaping at him and squeezed her body against the wall.

"I…I... " She licked her lips and couldn't form a sentence. Even though she didn't know why she came here at the first place. He tilted his head and bent closer to her.

"Were you looking for me?" His husky whisper sent a shiver down her spine. His breath was fanning her face. Her face flushed at his remark and she averted her gaze while fidgeting with her fingers.

He bit his lips to prevent his smirk and strengthened to his full height towering over her. She looked too small in front of him and couldn't meet his gaze. "How are you now?" He asked, still caging her between him and the wall.

"Better" her small whisper was enough for him to smirk in triumph. She was affected by his proximity and he can see that clearly. "So, are you gonna thank me?" He asked and she bobbed her head looking down.

"Go ahead, I am all ears," he said, still not moving from his posture. "S…Step back" he chuckled at her shuttering voice and shifted a bit. "Bring the file to me, Mr. Malhotra is already here" her eyes widened in horror hearing Rajeev's voice.

"M… Move," he didn't budge and leaned even more on her. Hearing the footsteps coming near she tried to move away "Dad is coming. Let me go" she hissed. "Say what you were here to say" he demanded instead of giving in.

"Let me go" she whispered, only for him to shake his head in denial. "Are you afraid he will catch us like this?" His husky tone was tingling her sense. "Please, let me go" she wailed, gaping at him with puppy eyes.

"You owe me a thank you. Remember that" saying this he pulled away and She didn't wait for a second and strolled out of there. He went inside the study before Rajeev would come out and caught them.

She thanked her stars that her father didn't find her cornered by a man or it would be too embarrassing for her if her father had caught them.

When the meeting ended he was about to leave when Reema bi stopped. "Where are you going?" Avyaansh looked baffled. "Office," he answered. "I couldn't thank you enough. Please stay for lunch at least '' when Reema bi said Avyaansh smiled at her. She is a persistent woman.

"Please stay for lunch, Mr. Malhotra. Reema bi won't let you go without testing her food, she made delicious food" Rajeev said from behind and Reema bi agreed with him.

"Alright then" he left no choice but to agree with her. When the food was served she was called for lunch. She stopped on her track abruptly seeing Avyaansh sitting with her father at the dining table.

"Hello, Ms Shanaya" Avyaansh said smiling at her. She was bewildered why he was acting neutral. Didn't they meet already? "H… Hello," she responded, grabbing her seat across from him. Rajeev was sitting on the head chair while Avyaansh was on his left and Shanaya was on his right.

While they were having a meal. His sole focus was on her. She didn't dare to look up as she was aware of his heated gaze on her. He was deliberately staring at her sensing her nervousness he chose to tease her more.

Rajeev was unaware of all the happenings at the dining table in front of him. Avyaansh bit his smile and spared her for the time being as he ate his food. "So, I will see you at the party sir" Avyaansh spoke standing from his seat as Rajeev also stood up with him.

"Sure, see you around," said Rajeev and walked ahead to the entrance Shanaya looked at his retreating back and went to her room. She wanted to talk to him but his actions made her nervous.
