Chapter 200 Finale
Chapter 200 Finale
After Alexander got everything ready, he took Catherine to see the wedding decorations.
Alexander hugged her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder, and in a low voice, he asked, "Do you like it?"
"Mm." Catherine responded softly, her voice trembling slightly. She turned around, wrapped her arms around his waist, and buried her face in his chest.
"Ethan's ring bearer outfit arrived too. Want him to try it on?" Alexander asked.
Hearing this, Ethan excitedly jumped off the sofa and ran over. "Can I put it on now?" he asked.
Catherine looked at him and couldn't help but smile. His outfit was a white suit, and it looked pretty good on him.
"Do I look handsome?" Ethan asked, tilting his head up.
"Very handsome!" Catherine said, pinching his chubby cheeks.
Alexander walked over too, crouched down, and adjusted Ethan's bow tie. Alexander picked Ethan up, holding him in his arms, with the little boy's head resting on his shoulder.
On the wedding day, quite a few guests showed up. Everyone gathered together, with Leo and Phaedra standing at the reception area.
"Look at this, our family hasn't been this lively in years," Leo said with emotion.
Phaedra gave a light snort but didn't argue, the corners of her mouth turning up slightly. Nora and Liam arrived too, with Nora in a light blue gown, holding onto Liam's arm.
"Wow, this is quite the setup. Alexander really went all out," Nora whispered.
"Are you jealous?" Liam leaned close to her ear.
Nora glared at him. "What do I have to be jealous about? I'm not marrying him."
Liam smiled and said nothing more, just squeezed her hand tighter.
The ceremony began. Ethan, wearing his little suit and holding the ring box, walked at the front.
Nora couldn't help but take out her handkerchief and gently wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"Why are you crying?" Liam's voice sounded in her ear, with a hint of amusement but also some tenderness.
"I'm just happy for Catherine," Nora sniffled.
Liam pulled her into his arms and patted her back gently. "When we get married, don't cry even harder than she does."
Nora froze and looked up at him. Her cheeks felt warm, and her heart skipped a beat.
The minister's solemn voice echoed through the flower room, "Ms. Spencer, do you take Mr. Russell to be your husband?"
Catherine looked at Alexander with tears glistening in her eyes.
"I do."
Alexander stepped forward, took her hand, and placed a diamond ring on her ring finger. He leaned down and kissed her forehead.
Ethan stood between them and was soon picked up by Alexander. What a happy family!
Three months later, Catherine felt her stomach churning. She frowned and forced herself to drink half a glass of milk, but still felt uncomfortable.
"What's wrong? Not feeling well?" Alexander put down his chopsticks and looked at her with concern.
Catherine shook her head, "It's nothing, maybe I didn't sleep well last night."
Seeing her pale face, Alexander didn't say another word and took her straight to the hospital.
When the test results came out, Catherine held the report, feeling a bit dazed. The doctor smiled and congratulated them, "Congratulations, Mrs. Russell, you're almost three months pregnant."
Catherine's heart skipped a beat. She looked up at Alexander. He gripped her hand tightly, his fingertips trembling slightly, but he said nothing, though he couldn't stop the corners of his mouth from turning up.
Leaving the hospital, Alexander was extra careful the whole way, even slowing down his driving speed considerably.
"What's wrong? Are you in shock?" Catherine looked at him and couldn't help but laugh.
Alexander snapped out of it, gripping the steering wheel even tighter. "I'm just so happy." His voice was low, with a barely noticeable hoarseness.
When they got home, Ethan was sitting in the living room watching cartoons. Catherine hesitated about how to tell him. Alexander walked over and sat Ethan on the sofa between them.
"Ethan, we have some good news to tell you," Alexander began, trying to keep his voice gentle.
Ethan blinked his big eyes and looked at them curiously.
Catherine gently touched her belly, her tone tender, "You're going to have a little brother or sister soon."
Ethan's expression went from confused to delighted, finally settling on a bit bewildered. He tilted his head and asked, "A baby that will play with me?"
Catherine nodded, "Yes, but it's still very small right now. It'll be a while before it comes out."
Alexander hugged Ethan tight and kissed his forehead. "You'll always be our most beloved baby. Even when the baby is born, we'll love you just the same."
Ethan reached out his little hand and gently touched Catherine's belly. "Can I tell the baby stories?"
"Of course you can," Catherine and Alexander said, exchanged glances, both feeling relieved.
Ethan's eyes immediately lit up, "Great! Then I need to buy something for the baby, so it can get my gift as soon as it's born."
...
At Nora's studio, orders were pouring in. She had hired two assistants, and the studio had doubled in size.
That day, Catherine brought Ethan to the studio to see Nora. As soon as they walked in, they saw Nora staring blankly at a pile of wedding dress design sketches.
"Are you switching careers to become a wedding dress designer?" Catherine teased.
Nora came back to her senses, her face flushing, "Don't even mention it. Liam insists I design it myself."
"Didn't he say he wanted to give you a surprise?" Catherine remembered Liam saying that before.
Nora sighed, "It's a surprise alright, but he's looked at dozens of designs, and he has to discuss every single one with me for ages. He's harder to please than any of my clients."
Ethan ran over and curiously flipped through the sketches, "Is this your wedding dress? It's so pretty!"
"You sweet talker." Nora pinched his face, then pointed at one of the sketches and asked Catherine, "What do you think of this one? He says it's too plain, but I think it looks good this way."
Catherine looked carefully. It really did suit Nora's style.
"It's really nice. You'll definitely look good in it," Catherine said. "But Liam probably just likes seeing you dressed like a princess."
"He just wants to see me all dressed up fancy, and then he'll dress even fancier than me," Nora pouted.
Just then, Liam pushed the door open, carrying two cups of hot coffee and a bag of pastries. Seeing Catherine and Ethan, he raised an eyebrow.
"Catherine, long time no see." He put the items on the table. "You're looking more and more beautiful."
Catherine rolled her eyes at him, "Always with the smooth talk."
Liam smiled and walked to Nora's side, picking up a design sketch, "Honey, I think the neckline on this one could be a bit lower, it would look more striking."
Nora gave him a look, "What do you know about striking?"
"I don't know about striking, but I know you," Liam said as he leaned over and whispered a few words in her ear. Nora's face instantly turned red to the tip of her ears.
Catherine and Ethan watched them flirt and bicker, and couldn't help but laugh.
