CHAPTER 5: DISSAPOINTED

I smiled broadly as I am eyeing the map. This is it, I can finally find the place that's being concealed in here. But the question is where should I start searching? My eyebrows furrowed when I realized that the map is kind of complicated to understand. There is no specific direction like if it's going north or south. I breathe out as I rolled it and put it back inside my bag so that I would not lose it. I lay down uncomfortably on the tent. I grabbed my cushion and blanket in the bag, then I put the cushion underneath my head, also I covered my body using the blanket along with shifting over to my left side. Maybe I'm just too tired from my journey. I am going to find it out tomorrow when I wake up.

I closed my eyes as I tried to sleep. Yet, I have a hard time sleeping, since this is my first time to slumber in a desert. I still need to adjust. However, something is bugging my mind that it also became the reason why I cannot doze off, so I get up and sat down for a while. I have some questions going on my mind right now. Like, why is there a human skeleton in the middle of a desert? Plus, who left this map inside a beehive? There is something wrong in here. Was the story that dad had told me is real? But, how do dad know about it? It just doesn't make any sense. Dad is just a business man who only cares for his work, not some adventures. We even barely went to a adventure or a field trip with him.

I shook my head as I rise and stood up while bringing my comforter as I stepped out of the tent. After that, I sat down the log infront of the fire to make my self warm. I stared at the night blue sky and watch the stars twinkling. I smiled as how I loved the peace the night time gives. I can also hear chirping of the birds, the rustling, then I looked around when I hear a strange noise of a sandy footsteps.

Is someone here?

I roamed my eyes around the dark surrounding. Nonetheless, I don't see anyone. But then I just notice a small looking creature hurtled towards me and stopped besides the log that I was sitting. My jaw dropped when I realized that it is a little rat, I smiled widely as I hold it. I love rats, they are actually adorable. The little mouse did not make any move, it is probably scared of something. Subsequently, an owl hoots that made the little rodent attempt to escape from my hands. It is urging to break free, until it slips my finger and run away. I tried to catch it again, but it hustle towards the dark and I did not see it again. I frowned,

"Hmmm--so it's scared of owl." I said under my breath. Oneself yawned, as I finally feel drowsy. I exhaled as I went back inside my tent to have some rest. At the moment I lay down, I closed my eyes again, then the hooting sound of the owl had lulled me to sleep.

I was exhausted as I trudged when all of a sudden, I perceived a rectangular shaped door in the middle of the desert. The funny thing is that, it was all alone standing there without any wall or something to support it. I know, it's very weird. I tried to walked towards it. With the scorching sun, crawling under my sweater, as it touches my skin, I still managed to stepped closer to the door. The crazy thing is that, the door was made of wood. However, I did not discern any single cracked on it despite of being displayed in the middle of this forsaken place.

My forehead creases out of confusion. How come the door in this place is much better than the door inside my room? Is the door inside my room is much older than the door here? I shook my head in disapproval as I attempt to hold the doorknob. In the moment, I suddenly cracked up and let go because of my foolish decision. Like, why do I need to open this, when I already know that this would still lead me to where I am right now. I watched the back of this door and I was disappointed when I see that it is really what I expected.

"I'll still be back here if I will open this." I muttered as I grasped again the doorknob. I closed my eyes and counted, "1... 2... 3.." afterwards, I slowly open the door wide and then a bright light suddenly emerged as I opened my eyes. My jaw had dropped, since this isn' what I expected to turn out to be. As I entered the gateway, the vivid light had disappeared. I am now in a terra firma with a breathtaking beauty. A land with ocean and filled with trees and beautiful flowers.

"What is this place?" I amazingly asked myself. This place looks like been taken care of a fairy or a nature creature. I sigh as I tutted over when I realized that fairy does not exist. I'm not a kid anymore to believe about encanto.

I walked towards the flowers as I took some pictures, but then instantaneously, one of the flower moved. But, I just ignored it. "Probably just a bee or a butterfly." I uttered then I waited for the insect to come out. Yet I was surprised when I caught a sight of a very unusual but familiar creature. "Wooaah!" I gasped as I saw it. It's more than a butterfly, or a bee, or a caterpillar. It is a mini looking girl doll creature with wings. It flee towards the bushes leaving its glitter or typically its magic. I followed it as she went inside a hole. I came closer and tried to clear out the bushes to make a way and there I saw another hidden door. It is a dark blue colored door surrounded by thick bushes with flowers. I was dumbfounded by its flower patterns.

When I touched the doorknob, it instantly open, like it has some magic. At the moment I entered, I discern the fairy is waiting for me inside. When it saw me, she gestured to follow her. No doubt, I tailed her. After ambling, she stopped as she told me to look around using her hand's motion. I just followed what she gestures and I am thunderstruck to what I just perceived. It is a huge building surrounded by trees and flowers. But then suddenly,

the uncomfortable morning heat had woken me up. I yawn as I get up and directly changed my clothes, because it is already full of sweat due to the oven like heat.

"Oh gosh, it was just a dream." I mumbled. "I am very disappointed." I added as I shook my head.
