Chapter 88 One Hundred Slaps, Not One Less
In that photo, William looked very different from usual.
William was leaning lazily against the wall in the hallway across from the obstetrics and gynecology department, his deep eyes fixed on the department sign opposite him, the corners of his mouth turned up.
He seemed lost in some kind of joy, with a warm and peaceful aura around him.
That look in his eyes... she had only seen it in William's eyes when he looked at the children.
Sophia's long lashes fluttered gently like fans, hiding the true emotions in her eyes.
The moment she looked up, her pupils dilated. She pretended to be shocked as she looked at Alice, "Impossible!"
The latter was very satisfied with her devastated expression of disbelief, deliberately touching her flat stomach.
Alice smiled smugly, "Miss, what are you talking about? How is it impossible?"
"In a few months, I'll be showing. Could this baby in my belly be fake?"
On her face was the happy look of a woman about to bear children for the man she loved, but even though her stomach was flat, she insisted on leaning back slightly, acting like a pregnant woman with a big, heavy belly.
It looked so ridiculous.
Alice felt nothing but satisfaction inside, wishing Sophia would suffer like this forever, experiencing all the pain she had endured those five years!
"Actually, I wasn't planning to get pregnant so soon. It's all his fault for not knowing restraint at night lately - the bathroom, the sofa, the balcony. I'm almost embarrassed to talk about it."
"You don't know how urgent he gets. When he's in a rush, he doesn't use protection... though he doesn't like using it anyway... says it's uncomfortable. And that's how we got this baby."
"He actually has two other children, but he promised me that once our baby is born, he'll send those two annoying kids to a boarding school abroad and never let them come back."
"After all, you only truly love children born to the woman you love. Those born to a woman you were forced to marry - they can't even be called children, they should be called bastards! These bastards were never meant to receive his love."
Alice got more and more worked up as she spoke, her eyes full of malice, wishing she could use the ugliest words in the world to insult and curse the two children Sophia had given birth to.
Sophia's anger was like a violent storm!
No mother could calmly listen to someone insult and curse her own children.
Sophia was no exception!
She wouldn't hold back anymore, and she didn't need to!
She gritted her teeth, her fingers twisted with rage, clenched tightly into fists, the fury in her eyes seeming ready to burn everything to ashes.
"Are you done? Alice Rivera!"
Suddenly hearing her full name, Alice's heart tightened: How did Sophia know who she was?
With her current face, even her own parents probably wouldn't recognize her right away. How could Sophia recognize her!
Before Alice could think of a response, she heard Sophia's words, each one piercing her heart.
"You're so much uglier than me, yet you have such beautiful dreams!"
This sentence from Sophia struck straight into Alice's heart. The two things she cared about most in her life, and also the two things that caused her hatred!
One was that Sophia had stolen her lover!
The other was that this bitch Sophia was better looking than her!
Sophia naturally saw what bothered her and continued to stab verbal daggers into her heart.
"Don't tell me... you've looked at this plastic surgery face in the mirror so much that you think it's your original face?"
Alice's eyes turned red with anger: "Don't go too far!"
Sophia's eyes were as cold as an endless frozen plain, without a trace of warmth, making people afraid to approach.
She scoffed, "In your eyes, this is going too far?"
Sophia stepped forward, her gaze icy, "You send me those photos every day and then run to my face to show off - isn't that even more excessive?"
Alice was scared by the cold, ruthless aura around her and stepped back twice.
For a moment, she seemed to see that chilling presence that William had.
She covered her stomach and backed up several steps, shouting, "Sophia, don't you dare try anything!"
"I'm telling you, I'm carrying the Smith family's child in my belly. If anything happens, William won't let you off!"
The confrontation between two beautiful women attracted attention from the people around them.
Especially when Alice mentioned "William," a girl in the crowd widened her eyes, and when she said "the Smith family's child," the girl looked at her in disbelief.
The girl quietly retreated to a corner, took out her phone to film what was happening here, and sent it out.
"Sophia, tell your bodyguards to stop and not come any closer!" Alice panicked a bit when she saw the black-suited bodyguards constantly approaching her.
Hard to say whether Alice was clever or foolish.
Knowing that Sophia wasn't someone with a good temper, she actually dared to come show off in front of her alone.
Or perhaps finally getting pregnant with William's child had made her dizzy with joy, and she couldn't wait to come flaunt that her belly had delivered?
"Scared now? You were pretty arrogant just now."
Alice's face turned pale. Her instinct told her that the Sophia in front of her would really beat her up. She had been reckless this time - she should have waited until the child was born before coming to mess with her.
If anything happened to the baby in her belly, forget about that old man not letting her off - even her "recognize daddy plan" for the child wouldn't be able to proceed.
"You just wait! I... William won't let you off!"
Alice hurried away, holding her stomach.
The girl hiding in the shadows also bent over and ran from the elevator on the other side.
Sophia waved at the bodyguards.
She wasn't stupid enough to attack Alice in a mall with surveillance cameras, but she wouldn't easily let go of this debt for insulting James and Michael.
Alice, who had just reached the parking lot, thought she had escaped disaster. She was about to look for the car the old man had bought her when a large hand covered her mouth.
Alice struggled constantly, "What are you doing... let me go!"
In a corner where the cameras couldn't see, extremely heavy slapping sounds rang out one after another.
A hundred times in a row!
A hundred slaps!
Alice's face was slapped directly into a pig's head by the bodyguards. The implants that had been newly embedded inside were slapped out of position. Her whole face was bruised and swollen, looking extremely ugly.
"What are you doing!"
When Tony arrived with his people, there were only two slaps left out of the hundred.
The man wearing a hood and mask just brazenly stared into Tony's eyes, forcefully delivered the last two slaps, and left their sight with extremely fast movements.
Alice knelt on the ground, trembling, covering her disfigured face and crying hysterically.
"Ah, my face!"
In the back seat of the black Bentley.
Emily was sleeping sweetly in the car's child safety seat. Sophia turned her head from time to time to look at Emily, her eyes full of maternal love and smiles.
Monkey in the passenger seat received a message from his subordinates and immediately turned to report.
"Sophia, the Smith family's people just took Alice away."
The gentle-looking woman's beautiful eyes, usually tender as water, were now full of disappointment and coldness.
Sophia said coldly, "Did they finish?"
Monkey responded and answered, "A hundred slaps, not one more, not one less."
This was the price Alice paid for destroying someone else's family and insulting two children.
By evening, when Sophia went to pick up James and Michael from school, Scarlett told her that the two children had already been picked up early by William.
After all, when the children's father came to pick them up himself, Scarlett didn't dare to stop him.
Afraid she wouldn't believe it, Scarlett even showed her the school's surveillance footage. It was indeed William who came with Tony to pick up the two children.
They left an hour earlier than the usual dismissal time.
Sophia got back in the car and said to the driver, "To the Smith Mansion!"
