Chapter 307 Emily: So What?

Chapter 307 Emily: So What?

Joe parked the car and came over, hearing Emily crying.

Seeing the bodyguards surrounding Sophia and the others, he quickly walked over and stood beside them. He glanced at where Philip and Kaitlyn were standing—he didn't need to think twice to know these two were causing trouble again.

"You guys take the kids inside first, I'll handle this."

The restaurant manager, hearing the commotion outside, quickly came out with security to check what was happening.

Kaitlyn saw him and thought he was the restaurant owner. She hurriedly said in a gentle voice, "Boss, why isn't your restaurant open for business today?"

"Since we're already here, couldn't you just open one table for us?"

She looked back at Philip with loving eyes and said regretfully, "I just came back from abroad, and my friend told me your restaurant's food is really good, so I specially came to try it."

The restaurant manager didn't know about the conflict between Sophia and Kaitlyn. Following the principle that customers are guests, he said, "I'm sorry, our restaurant isn't open to the public today. Madam, if you really like our restaurant that much, you can come back another day."

He then turned to Sophia, bowed slightly, and said with a smile, "The kitchen is all ready. Please go in."

Kaitlyn frowned unhappily. "If you're not open to the public, why can they go in?"

Just as he was about to tell her this restaurant was Sophia's property, Philip suddenly noticed a winding scar revealed under Lyra's hair as the wind blew it up. His pupils contracted.

He took two steps forward, wanting to lift the hair on Lyra's forehead to check how it was healing, but Emily slapped his hand away.

"Sir, you're not being very gentlemanly."

This was William's pampered daughter, and also Lyra's goddaughter, who had been doted on since childhood. Philip told himself he couldn't argue with a child, so he smiled at her.

Emily was confused, thinking: 'This guy doesn't seem quite right in the head.'

She huffed at Philip, then turned to hug Lyra's neck tightly and said, "Lyra, let's go eat, I'm hungry."

Lyra kissed Emily, who was protecting her, and nodded with a smile. When she saw Philip, she immediately dropped her smile.

Lyra said, "Mr. Banks, remember to show up in court on time in thirty days for the divorce.

"You came back just to divorce me? Lyra, do we really have to be at each other's throats like this? Don't forget, this marriage was originally..."

Hearing Philip keep talking, Emily suddenly leaned out and covered his mouth with her hand.

Philip: "?"

Everyone fell silent.

Emily covered his mouth with one hand and made a quiet gesture with her other hand at her lips.

She gave Philip a bright smile and said slowly, "Sir, when I let go, you can't say mean things anymore, okay?"

Philip was silent.

Seeing this, Kaitlyn quickly came over to remove Emily's hand, but was blocked by a line of bodyguards who wouldn't let her get anywhere near Emily.

Sophia held James and Michael's hands, watching Emily handle Philip. She caught sight of the anger Kaitlyn was suppressing,, and the corners of her mouth slowly curved up.

The funniest part was that after letting go of Philip's mouth, Emily immediately turned and held her hand out to Joe.

She said with great disgust, "Mr. Watson, wipe."

Philip thought coldly to himself: 'Sure enough, like father, like daughter.'

This Emily was just as annoying as William!

The restaurant manager could tell something was off from the current situation. His eyes turned, and he roughly guessed what was going on.

As a qualified employee, he naturally had to help his boss solve problems.

He smiled at Kaitlyn, who had just questioned them, and said, "Madam, regarding your earlier question, let me provide an explanation."

"Because this lady is the owner of our 'Hidden Feast.'"

"Tonight is a divorce celebration party for our boss's friend. The venue inside is all set up, so it's not suitable for public business. Madam, are you satisfied with this explanation? Do you have any other questions?"

The restaurant manager maintained a smile throughout, leaving no room for criticism.

Hearing "divorce celebration party," Philip's expression changed instantly.

He looked sharply at Lyra, who was playing with the child, his tone icy: "Celebrating a divorce?"

Hearing this, Kaitlyn froze. Something came to mind, and she immediately looked up toward Lyra, her heartbeat accelerating.

"Yeah, getting married isn't necessarily a happy occasion, but divorce definitely is. What's wrong with me celebrating?"

Emily nodded enthusiastically, lifting her delicate chin and saying to Philip, "That's right, so what?"

At Emily's enthusiastic support, Lyra kissed Emily in her arms, her eyes smiling as she said, "I even ordered a cake for Lyra, didn't I?"

Lifting her head from Lyra's arms, Emily said with a grin, "Yes, it's the Little Prince's rose, fragrant like Lyra."

Sophia saw it was about time.

She reminded them, "Let's go, the food will get cold."

As she led James and Michael inside, she talked with Emily, "Emily, bring Lyra in."

After Sophia and the others went in, Joe had his people guard the restaurant entrance.

He said meaningfully, "Don't let any dogs in."

Kaitlyn was furious, but to maintain her image, she could only smile bitterly through gritted teeth. She wanted to find some warmth and care from Philip, but only saw Philip's gaze following Lyra.

The warm, atmospheric street lamp outside the restaurant shone on him, casting a lonely shadow on the ground.

She voiced a guess she herself couldn't accept: "Philip, have you fallen in love with Lyra?"

"Don't overthink it." Philip loosened his clenched fist and turned to look down at her.

"Let's go, I'll take you somewhere else to eat. There's a restaurant with good steak, I'll take you to try it."

Philip took the lead and walked forward, while Kaitlyn stood frozen behind him.

Before coming, Kaitlyn had told him she didn't want to eat steak, but now he was saying he'd take her for steak—clearly, after seeing Lyra, his mind wasn't on her anymore.

"Philip, are we still having the wedding the day after tomorrow?" Kaitlyn hurried to catch up.

Philip answered, "Yes."

Inside the restaurant, Lyra looked at the row of men lined up, completely confused.

She turned to look at Sophia, who shrugged and said, "This wasn't my idea."

Sophia looked at Emily in Lyra's arms, who had a look of wanting praise, and sighed slightly. She really didn't know which step went wrong recently to give Emily such 'progressive' ideas.

"It was me, Lyra."

Emily counted on her fingers and said, "These are all super handsome, super amazing bodyguards. I had them dance for you and peel grapes!"

Lyra: "?"

Lyra suddenly remembered a movie she had watched with Emily before, which had exactly this kind of scene.

Lyra said hesitantly, "But Emily, isn't this too many people?"

Emily looked back at the eighteen carefully selected bodyguards with good looks and physiques.

She blinked innocently and said, "So what? Lyra, you're so beautiful, what's wrong with having a few more?"

Looking at Emily's matter-of-fact, innocent expression, Lyra smiled and gave her two big kisses.

"Emily, you're so good to me!"
