Chapter 138 Emily is a Little Rich Woman
The top-floor restaurant at Liberty Tower.
When Benjamin arrived, William was already waiting in the private room.
Both were outstanding men, but Port City and Empire City were far apart. Benjamin had first met William at Sophia's wedding.
The second time was when he came to Empire City to discuss a collaboration.
Today was their third meeting.
Both men knew about each other's relationship with Sophia.
Unlike Benjamin, who had known about him seven years ago, William only learned of his existence this year after having someone investigate Sophia's past.
Men are rational creatures. Even with this connection between them, they could still shake hands and happily collaborate on projects.
"Mr. Smith, here's to a pleasant cooperation between Redwood Technology Co., Ltd. and Peace Group."

Another week passed.
On Saturday morning, Lucas had made plans with friends to go racing and left early.
After breakfast, the children practiced their handwriting for a while, then played with puzzles on the carpet in the playroom.
Emily handed over puzzle pieces while James and Michael worked together to assemble them. The three siblings worked in perfect harmony.
They had been working on this 2,000-piece puzzle for many days and currently had just over 300 pieces left to complete.
Sophia sat with them, keeping them company.
As soon as they finished, Michael ran over with his bank card, grinning as he said, "Mommy, can I treat you, James, and Emily to dinner today?"
Though puzzled, Sophia didn't want to disappoint the child.
Holding Emily in her arms, she said, "Sure. Emily, when James treats us to dinner, what should we say?"
Emily looked up, "Thank you, James."
Michael rubbed his head shyly, saying repeatedly, "You're welcome, you're welcome."
James also ran over and said, "Mommy, I have a card too. I can also treat you all to dinner, to Emily's favorite seafood feast."
Sophia patted both James and Michael on the head, "You're both wonderful."
Emily, in her arms, looked curiously at the cards in James and Michael's hands, thinking of her own piggy bank.
Black card = can have a big meal?
Emily's eyes lit up: 'She has those too! Lots and lots of them!'
Emily climbed down from Sophia's arms and ran to get her piggy bank.
Emily stretched out her little hand, "Mommy, here."
Her chubby little face had two dimples when she smiled. James and Michael were both curious about what was in the piggy bank.
With Emily's permission, they opened it, and over a dozen black cards fell out, along with beautiful gemstones.
Sophia was quite surprised, "Emily, where did these cards come from?"
She immediately thought of Emily's two godmothers, Lyra and Harper. They definitely had a hand in this, and the remaining cards were most likely from her senior colleagues at the lab.
"Lyra, Harper... Uncle Lucas... Mr. Watson..."
Emily cheerfully began counting on her fingers, and after finishing, didn't forget to tell Sophia, "For Mommy, big meal!"
Sophia was exasperated. These people really...
When she called, Lyra said nonchalantly, "I'm so rich, what's wrong with giving Emily a little something?"
"Oh, by the way, I've been at a jewelry exhibition abroad recently and found a necklace for Emily. I'll have my bodyguard deliver it in a few days. Put it on Emily for me."
Sophia's instinct told her that the necklace Lyra mentioned was definitely not ordinary.
Seeing the photo she sent right after, she thought to herself, "Just as I expected."
A 180-carat heart-shaped sapphire set in platinum, surrounded by 108 diamonds.
Sophia said, "Ms. Cole, do you remember Emily isn't even two years old yet?"
Lyra replied lavishly, "So what if she's not two yet? My goddaughter deserves the best love in the world."
"Alright, I've got to go. Time to get back to work and make money for Emily." She hurriedly hung up and dove into the next round of shooting work.
After calling everyone else, they all basically said the same thing.
Regardless, she kept their love for Emily in her heart and would find other ways to return the favor later.
Emily saw her making calls on the sofa and obediently climbed onto her lap.
Sophia looked at Emily's quiet, well-behaved appearance and smiled. Emily didn't even know she was now a little rich girl.
Emily's pigtails bounced as she tugged at Sophia's clothes, her big watery eyes full of anticipation.
"Mommy."
James and Michael also came over, awaiting her response.
Sophia smiled and nodded, "Okay, we'll go out for a big dinner tonight."
The children cheered happily, already thinking about which matching sibling outfits to wear.
Hidden Feast private restaurant.
Sophia got out of the car holding Emily and said to James and Michael behind her, "Get out slowly."
"Okay, Mommy." James and Michael got out efficiently.
She had brought the children to Hidden Feast before. It was Sophia's personal dining business.
The private room had been arranged in advance.
Emily said, "Mommy, down."
Emily climbed down from Sophia's arms and walked inside holding James and Michael's hands.
There were over thirty independent private rooms here, with a peaceful environment, perfect for business discussions and romantic dates.
When the restaurant manager saw her arrive, he immediately came over to personally escort them to the room with the best view, which was Sophia's regular room whenever she came, not open to other guests.
The winding path to the private room was quite long.
James noticed Emily stop and stopped too, asking puzzled, "What's wrong, Emily?"
Emily wiggled her feet and pouted pitifully, "Feet hurt."
Emily was wearing silver crystal shoes covered with sparkling little diamonds, and her favorite part was the satin bow in front, with a diamond of about 20 carats in the center that shone brilliantly under the lights.
This was a custom-made Children's Day gift from Lyra abroad.
Though James didn't quite understand why Emily liked these shoes, it didn't affect his love for Emily.
He squatted down and said, "Emily, let me carry you on my back, okay?"
Emily's eyes lit up as she said happily, "Okay!"
She moved her crossbody bag to the back so it wouldn't bother James, and reached out to hug his neck.
Seeing this, Sophia quickly went over to support Emily's body, "Emily, let Mommy hold you."
James hooked his hands behind Emily's legs, clasped them together, and stood up.
He turned to reassure Sophia, "Mommy, look, I can do it. Emily is very light, not heavy at all."
Emily hugged James's neck, looking up at Sophia with her clean little face and smiling.
Michael, standing to the side, reached out to protect Emily from behind, saying earnestly, "Mommy, I'll protect Emily too!"
"Mommy, I've been eating more lately. I'm really strong and capable now."
Sophia praised both James and Michael, "You're both good brothers who care for Emily."
"James, walk slowly. If you get tired, let me hold Emily."
James nodded, held Emily tight, and continued walking forward. Michael followed behind, constantly protecting Emily.
Watching this harmonious scene of siblings before her,Sophia felt warmth flooding her heart.
But just as they turned the corner, before the smile had left her face, she saw Benjamin.
In well-tailored black pants and white shirt, wearing a khaki-colored long trench coat over it, with his long hair half-tied up looking more casual, and paired with gold-framed glasses on his nose, he had the air of a refined scholar.
Benjamin softly called her name, "Sophia, what a coincidence."
Sophia fell silent.
Really just a coincidence? She didn't quite believe it.
In the private room, Benjamin greeted the children very gently.
Michael looked at Sophia, then at Benjamin, and sneakily took out his smartwatch to snap a photo, sending it to William who was still working overtime at the company.
William, who had just finished reviewing several proposals and was resting with his eyes closed, opened his phone when he heard the special notification sound he'd set for James and Michael.
Michael: [Daddy, handsome guy! Danger! Danger!]
