Chapter 98 Chapter 98
Selena
“ Wake up, Ms Selena.” Svetlana's loud voice jolted me awake, shaking something deep inside. I opened my eyes slowly and groaned at the bright sunlight.
“Close the windows, Svetlana,” I murmured, my eyes hurting. I closed them back.
“Oh, I’m sorry, miss.” Hearing the sounds of her closing the curtains, I opened my eyes.
“This’s better.” My head hurts.
“You look so tired.”
My eyes snapped to Svetlana, her words slowly registering in my head. Heat crept to my face,
Last night was eventful. Once again, we had spent all night being intimate.
I must say Theodore wasn’t human. How could he have so much strength while I was falling apart with each thrust..
Svetlana coughed, and the heat spread all over my neck at being caught.
“What time is it?” I asked, avoiding her eyes.
“It’s past lunch time.”
“What!” I exclaimed, looking at her, then the wall clock. It was two already.
“Why didn’t you wake me?” I asked.
Now that I think about it, I was alone in the room. Theodore must have gone about his day. Probably working on his laptop somewhere. While I, his supposed assistant, do absolutely nothing.
“Boss asks not to wake you early. He also asked that I get you warm water to bathe. Seeing how everything is so peculiar, I guess—“”
“No Svetlana,” I cut her from her imagination. And she burst into a smile.
It has been four days since we have been here. Yes, I had brought Svetlana with us. And not just her, I also pursued Theodore to ask Zac here.
Zac arrived a day after us.
Svetlana and I have gotten close over the days together, and I was sure now, that it wasn’t just a crush she had towards Zac.
Zac on the other hand was hard to read.
Figured, for Theodore’s man, he should be stone-faced. But I noticed how much he cared for her. He was protective of her. And let’s not talk about the occasional stares I see from him.
And today was another day to continue my mission.
“I’ll shower now,” I said, coming down from the bed.
“I’ll arrange your bath.”
I nodded and she left.
I was getting used to it. Being Theodore’s. Being showered with gifts. Being pampered. It was foreign. But I wanted to let myself enjoy this. Who knows when it will be taken away soon?
Theodore would find someone else soon, and then forget about me. Then, I’ll be left alone to regret everything.
So I let myself submerge in everything.
“It’s ready!” Svetlana yelled from inside.
The car stopped in front of a large building. Clothes are displayed in the glass.
“Wow, we are shopping here,” Svetlana exclaimed.
I looked behind us, but there was no other car.
Since waking up, I haven’t seen Theo. I had wanted to check the little room, Svetlana said he was in, but Zac stopped me, saying he was occupied.
So here I was, looking behind me with the hope of seeing him.
“Miss, you kept looking behind you since we left home. You must be missing the boss.” Svetlana giggled.
I guess I was missing him. Since we came to Korea, he has always been around. Even when he was busy, I still got to see him.
But today, he won’t see me.
‘What were you thinking? I’m sure he doesn’t care about you that much.’
I rolled my eyes. The voice was back again. I don’t know when it started, but I noticed a while ago that I no longer hear the voice.
Well, I do now.
‘You have always pretended to be smart, but are you? He doesn’t have any reason to like and care for you. You are just going to be added to his past women.’
I shook my head, ignoring the voice, to look at the building.
“Let’s go in,” I said to Svetlana.
Svetlana pushed the door open and I almost gasped at the clothes mall. All luxurious.
“Wow, I’m glad to follow you, Miss Selena. Now I can enjoy this to the fullest.” Svetlana laughed, her eyes amused at every piece.
Last night before sleeping, Theodore had asked me to go shopping with Svetlana, and seeing her this morning, that confirmed I wasn’t dreaming.
Since he asked, I should, and maybe this would make up for him not seeing me this morning.
We moved along each session of beautiful dresses, but for some reason, none of them was appealing to me.
I sighed after we moved over another row.
“Hm,”
I turned sharply to the little cough. Svetlana turned too.
A lady in uniform, a smile on her lips as she stood before us. Her eyes zero in on us, analyzing.
She was judging.
Finally, she looked up, and her gaze met mine.
“Sorry madam, I’ve been noticing you for some minutes now. Are you lost?” She asked, though her voice carried a hint of rudeness, and she still smiled warmly.
I also faked a smile. “No, I’m looking for a dress.” I lifted my head, shoulder squared.
“Oh. I can see you have been doing it for some time now. If you don’t mind, I can take you to the cheaper building to get some dresses. Dresses here are really for important people who can purchase them.” She made a gesture with her hands for us to leave.
“What are you saying? Do you know who Ms is!” Svetlana yelled, and I turned to her, noticing everyone’s attention to us.
“Don’t say anything, Svetlana. It’s better if we don’t cause trouble for Theodore. ” I whispered to her, but she only frowned.
“If you are done, can you please leave now. Your presence is disrupting our customers.” The fake smile was gone.
“We’ll leave,” I answered, wanting to get hold of Svetlana's hand, but she just decided to be pissed off instead.
“Do you think we can’t afford,”
She reached for her bag and then pulled out a black card. It must belong to Theo. I close my eyes in disbelief.
The lady didn't look surprised; instead, she smiled. “Of course you can’t afford it, judging from your clothes. Now common people could create black cards.” She laughed, looking at the card like it was funny.
I could see Svetlana fuming in anger.
“Let me have it,” The lady moved closer to us and yanked the card away from her.
“Give it back!” Svetlana moved to follow her, but she missed a step and the next thing I saw was her falling forward.
“Svetlana….” I called after her and rushed to hold her.
“I don’t know why I’m being cursed, but leave now. I’ve called the security.”
It was embarrassing. I have worked in a mall once and I knew how unfair the workers were to poor people.
“We should just leave,” I said to Svetlana. “We can shop elsewhere."
“But the boss asked that we shop here.” She argued. Anger still in her eyes.
“We don’t have to, besides he isn’t here, s—“
“I’m here.”
