Chapter 15 TO FLORIDA
After Mahina ran away from the organization. She went to Dora’s flower shop. She didn’t say anything to Dora. All she did was to water the plants and cut off the weeds. Dora could see that she was pained, but she didn’t say anything she just watched her silently. Somehow Mahina always ended up telling Dora her feelings. So she just knew that, if the pain was too much for Mahina to handle she would tell her.
Dora grew impatient as she waited for Mahina to tell her what happened but she didn’t pressurize her. Dora sat in a corner reading her book while keeping an eye on Mahina, When Mahina stood up abruptly and went out of the flower shop. Dora stood up and followed her after quickly locking up the flower store. She wondered what could be going through her friend’s mind. She was worry stricken. The silence was getting too much. Mahina walked on the scanty streets in silence lost to her thoughts. Dora trailed after her in silence. She entered one of those local alcohol kiosk in the streets and ordered for whisky. Dora sat opposite her silently, but Mahina was quick to notice her presence. She raised her eyes to look at Dora as she gulped down a glass of whisky and spoke.
Dora! Let’s leave this country... You said, you had some surviving relatives in Mexico, right?
“Yes!... but why?” Dora felt uneasy. She was scared for her friend
“I can’t continue here anymore.” Mahina expressed sadly
“What happened?” Dora placed her hands gently on Mahina’s cheeks and wiped the tears falling gently on her cheeks.
“I don’t know where to start? I just feel that; the whole world is against me. Perhaps this is a sign for me to leave this country. Nothing good has ever happened to me here. It’s always one misery after another.” More tears rolled down from Mahina’s eyes
“What happened though?” Dora was becoming more concerned with the suspense. She was restless.
“To be honest, it’s not about what happened, it’s about what is going to happen. I am scared Dora! I have never been this scared before! I feel like something terrible is coming my way... yet I can’t explain it.” Dora quickly gave Mahina a warm hug and said’;
“I am here for you and you have nothing to be worried about my dear... I will book our flight tickets right away” They continued taking their drinks in silence. Dora was worried for her friend. She could see that Mahina has made up her mind not to stay in NY city again. So no matter what she says it wouldn’t make a difference. All she could do was to be there and support her friend.
Ford barged into Alba’s massive mansion angered. He found Alba seated by the fire place staring at the blazing flames and smiling. Alba shot him a smug face. He was unbothered’;
“Alba what the fuck is wrong with you?” Ford started ranting.
For heaven’s sake what has that young lady done to you? She is not your everyday play thing. I could sense it too; she is different just like you suspected. Alba that girl is innocent… stay far from her…”
“Pffft she is not so innocent as you think. She is a cunning woman that much I learnt today… in fact I dare to say if she is innocent then I will accept being called a demon”
“Then you better accept it because I am certain that without a doubt she is innocent unlike your other toys…” Alba glared at him and said;
“Watch how you speak to me...you know what I can do right?”
“Heck the whole Island of Anum knows what you can do, but that poor, human girl doesn’t. Be honest with me! What do you want that girl for?
“I need a new toy I am tired of all the all old ones” Ford looked at Alba with a straight face. Nothing about Alba ever surprises him again, as he knew him to be conceited and a cryptic guy. Always trying to figure the reason behind people’s choices.
“And you think... she is the right one!” Ford asked
“Never been this sure before of anything”. Alba answered Nonchalantly.
“Fine!” Ford replied angrily. He thought to himself from the depths of his heart what to do with Alba; ‘I will make sure she is the last girl you would ever play with...’ Ford walked out of the mansion angrily.
Mahina and Dora spent the night parking their things. When it was 7; am Dora called a cab to pick them up. when the cab arrived, they packed all their luggage’s into the car. They both looked at their apartment one last time before they left. Mahina felt sad that her friend had to leave her flower store behind all because of her. Still she was determined to make it up to her friend someday. It was a long silent drive as they passed all their favorite spots to the airport.
“I am sorry Dora! I know how much you loved NY city and I am very much aware of all the beautiful memories we have made together here. I am sorry that I always find a way to turn your beautiful world upside down. Never the less… thank you Dora for being my best friend. a friend who is more than a family to me. I promise you I will make it up to you…” Dora wiped her teary eyes and embraced Mahina warmly:
“You always do Hina! I love you, bestie.”
Mahina and Dora arrived at the airport. They walked into the reception and started the processes to get their tickets. They finished all the documentation and they were led to the airplane. As they entered into the plane Dora went to sit on her seat comfortably. Whereas Mahina felt that there was something wrong with the plane. It was quite scanty with people. There were only about three passengers in the plane. Something didn’t feel right. She stood up and stopped one of the flight attendants and asked’;
“Excuse me miss, I am not sure I and my friend boarded the right plane.” Mahina was worry stricken
“This flight is to Mexico, isn’t that where you are headed to?” She asked. The flight attendant tried to reassure her.
“Yes! But it just feels like we are on the wrong plane” Dora yelled at Mahina from her seat’;
“Will you stop being Paranoid already!” Dora closed her eyes to sleep agitated by Mahina’s paranoia.
Mahina quietly went back to her seat. She sat down quietly and continued looking around suspiciously. When Alba suddenly stood up and frightened her’;
“Boo!” Mahina jumped from her seat in fright. She was about to fall when Alba grip her waist with his hand. The duo gazed into each other’s eyes, for a long while. Her heart was thumping against her ribcage. She wanted to run and hide, but there was no escape for her. Mahina couldn’t say why but she got lost in his sea green eyes. It felt as if there was something she was supposed to find in his eyes as she looked into them. Alba’s eyes slowly left her eyes to her lips. He wanted to taste them again. Her sexy, soft luscious lips. They were tempting him. Alba had kissed many girls, but non ever felt like Mahina’s. They were the softest most intoxicating lips; he had ever indulged in. He wanted more. It was never enough for him, the more he kissed her the more he wanted to kiss her again and again.
All he wanted at that moment that he was close to her was to kiss her. With his arms wrapped around her back. He drew her in close to his body. He brushed his nose against hers ever so tenderly. They exchange their breath and his mind became clouded with lust. He landed his lips on hers hungrily and ravaged her lips with intense kisses. Swirling his tongue round hers. He gently moved his hands to her back and then gradually to her head, he felt her silky hair in his hands as he kissed her some more.
Dora, Ford, Arlo and Axel couldn’t take their eyes away from the duo. They all stood up, to look when the duo started talking. They were confused with what was happening. The guys were confused because it was unlike Alba to kiss a girl so passionately. He never begs a lady for any form of affection instead it was always the other way round. But with this girl, Alba was different. Dora on the other hand could see that her friend was helpless in the arms of this man. He dominated her friend, who hates the idea of any man coming close to her ever since her break up with Finn. Dora wagged her head at the realization of her friend’s sudden desire to leave town. It was because she was afraid of this man.
Mahina placed her slender hands on his chest and gradually pushed him away. Looking into his eyes she said;
“Would you stop kissing me already!... what is wrong with you and kissing me every time we meet?” Mahina complained
“I told you that you can’t run away from me! Didn’t I?” Alba reminded her in a husky tone
“Why is that?” Mahina asked feeling agitated
“Because you belong to me! Whether you like it or not” he answered her nonchalantly.
“I don’t belong to anyone!” she answered him with strong resolve in her voice and gesture. Alba smiled and raised his gaze to her;
“You are being watched, there is no escape from me.” He spoke to her with authority.
“If you are here, where is this plane actually heading to?” unshaken by his voice, she asked.
“To Florida” Mahina was obviously fuming by then contemptuously. Alba smiled at how her cheeks were crimson.
He bent down and whispered in her ears’;
“If you really care for your friend... you will do as I say obediently, if not your friend will be a goner. I have friends from all around waiting for my orders to do with your friend as they so wish. Don’t tempt me girl!”
Mahina didn’t argue further. She quietly went back to her seat and sat down. ‘what is a girl like me supposed to do when placed in a situation like this one.’ Shaking her head sideways she buried her face in her palm. As she awaited what was to come.
