“Who… who are you…” Jaxon let go of Monica’s hair, feeling weak all over. He thought they were debt collectors and immediately said, “I’ll pay you back. I can pay you back right away, I…”
Before he could finish, another car sped over and stopped at the entrance. Lucille got out, limping, but ran frantically towards them, shouting, “Grandma–Grandma-”
Jaxon still didn’t understand the situation and pointed at Lucille, shouting, “That’s my daughter! Her husband is very rich! Grab her! If you grab her, you’ll get…”
He hadn’t even finished the word “money” when the man in the lead suddenly threw a punch, hitting him square in the jaw.
He was sent flying by the punch, crashing hard onto the warehouse floor.
A metallic, sweet taste quickly filled his mouth. He spat, and two of his teeth came out.
The absolute power made him tremble with fear. “Who… who the hell are you?”
Robert completely ignored him because Lucille had already rushed in, heading for that broken bed.
What a scene this was!
Robert had never seen such a cruel sight. His grandmother was as thin as a withered piece of wood, lying there completely still. Her face and body were covered in spilled rice congee, and the moldy blanket and padded floor mattress were soaked in excrement.
“Beat him mercilessly!”
Rage burned in Robert’s eyes. A monster like that deserved to die ten times over!
Edwin remained rational, whispering instructions, “Watch how hard you hit him. Don’t kill him!”
But just barely leave him breathing!
At fifty years old, Edwin had never seen someone so heartless and cruel. Even though the old woman was no relation to him, his heart ached for her.
Lucille was on the verge of a breakdown. Her beloved grandmother, tortured into this state!

“Grandma, Grandma, I’m sorry. Lucille is late…” She fought back her grief, trying to help her grandmother up.
Her grandmother was fading, delirious, just barely hanging on by a thread. She vaguely heard Lucille’s voice, and her eyes cleared slightly.
When she felt herself being moved, she realized that her Lucille had really come…
But, she was so filthy now, how could she let Lucille touch her?
Her withered body suddenly found a burst of strength. “Don’t, go away… Lucille… don’t come closer, filthy… Grandma’s filthy…”
Lucille almost burst into tears. “You’re not filthy, Grandma. Grandma’s not filthy…”
“I’ll do it.”
Robert bent down and lifted his grandmother right into his arms.
Grandma grew even more panicked. “Who is it, who is it… Don’t hold Grandma, listen to me, put Grandma down, Grandma’s filthy…”
If Grandma had any strength left, she would have struggled and jumped down no matter what, but she had absolutely none now, only anxiety and fear. “Is that Cedrick?
Cedrick, don’t touch Grandma. Put me down, Grandma is too filthy…”
Robert was already at the door, carrying his grandmother with long strides.
Lucille followed behind, her heart sinking when she heard those words. Cedrick, Cedrick, Grandma, it’s not Cedrick…
“Grandma, it’s…”
Lucille was just about to say it was her cousin Robert when she was cut off by someone who rushed over.
“Grandma!
It’s Cedrick!
Cedrick is here!”
Cedrick tried to take Grandma directly from Robert’s arms, “Let me, put her in my car!”
But Robert ignored him, carrying Grandma past him, almost running towards his own car.

“Lucille…”
Cedrick wanted to talk to Lucille, but she ignored him too.
The police arrived, sirens wailing.

Edwin explained to the police, “The old lady is in critical condition. Let the two kids take her to the hospital first. I’ve recorded a video of what’s inside. I’ll go with you to the local police station. Also, that inhuman bastard is already in there.”
Cedrick stood at the warehouse entrance, one moment wanting to go to the hospital with Lucille, the next seeing Jaxon and wanting to beat him to a pulp. He hesitated between the two, then realized everyone was moving, and no one was paying him any attention.
