Chapter 261
At this point, she didn’t want to live anymore…
Besides, she wasn’t going to live much longer.
Jaxon was forcing the porridge down her throat. Before, she could still manage to either swallow or spit it out, but with this bowl today, she didn’t even have the strength to swallow. The porridge he poured into her mouth just flowed right back out from the corners.
“I’m giving you food and you refuse to eat!
You old bitch!”
Jaxon slapped her across the face.
Grandma remained completely still. She couldn’t even make out the face of the monster in front of her–it was all a blur. But for some reason, Lucille’s face became exceptionally clear.
From learning to talk as a baby, to growing up and dancing for her, to getting injured in the car accident, and then, to her at the airport, saying, “Grandma, wait for me to come get you…”
A single tear trickled down from the corner of her eye.
Lucille, Grandma can’t wait for you any longer.
You promised Grandma you’d live a happy life.
In your next life, don’t be my granddaughter. I’m afraid I couldn’t give you a good father…
“Old Mrs. Radford hag!
Are you dying or what?”
Jaxon shoved his grandmother’s head hard.
The grandmother just stared blankly, her mouth half–open, with no reaction, her eyes slowly losing focus.
“Stop it. What if she’s really dying?”
Monica was scared and tried to stop him.

Jaxon looked at his mother on the bed, a moment of hesitation in his eyes, but it quickly turned vicious. “Mom, don’t blame me. If you had just given me the house sooner, it wouldn’t have come to this.”
Monica hesitated. “Well, the will is already made, so maybe…”
“Shut up!”
Jaxon said fiercely, “The will, the will, it only takes effect when she’s dead!
As long as she’s alive, things can change!”
“But… but…” Monica looked at her mother–in–law, who was barely breathing, and suddenly remembered how she had taken care of her after she gave birth to her two children, bringing chicken soup right to her.
“But what?”
Jaxon snapped, “She’s dying on her own. It has nothing to do with us. We were even kind enough to bring her food!”
Monica was trembling all over. She couldn’t even convince herself with that excuse.
Jaxon looked in disgust at his mother, covered in her own filth. “Mom, if you’re going to blame someone, blame Lucille. I could have taken you back home, let you pass on cleanly, but Lucille is looking for you. What if she finds you and saves you again?”
Hearing the name “Lucille,” the grandmother’s tears streamed down, but she couldn’t speak.
Jaxon thought for a moment and said to Monica, “I think it’ll be over in a day or two. We can’t keep her here. If someone finds her, they’ll investigate. You stay here and watch her. Once she stops breathing, take her back home, clean her up, and pretend she died of illness.
Hearing this, Monica started shaking uncontrollably. “I… I’m not staying here. Why… why don’t you stay here yourself?”
“You damn bitch!
You dare say no to me?”
Jaxon raised his fist to hit her again.
Monica covered her head and ran for her life. “No, I’m not staying here! If someone has to stay, you stay! She’s your mom, not my mom…”
No matter how much Jaxon cursed, she rushed for the door. Jaxon chased after her, and they

reached the door at almost the same time. As Monica opened the warehouse door, Jaxon grabbed her by the hair, but both of their faces turned deathly pale the moment the door opened.
Because standing outside was a group of big, burly men, some of them even foreigners.
They didn’t recognize the man in the lead at all.
