Chapter 133
After saying that, Lucille intended to get up and put on some clothes, but she wasn’t fully sober yet.
Originally in the bathtub, she was drunk and asleep, it was Mylee carrying her out and the fall that hurt and woke her up a bit, but her feet were still unsteady, she leaned on the bathtub and as soon as she exerted force, she fell back to the ground, at the same time, Mylee’s exclamation came from behind, “Madam, don’t move!”
Lucille didn’t know what was happening, turned back, saw Mylee’s hands covered in blood, her voice and hands trembling, “Madam, you… you’re bleeding a lot, you’re hurt, where does it hurt?”
Don’t move just yet…”
Lucille looked down to find her towel had slipped, stained crimson with blood…
When she fell earlier, the excruciating pain was at the back of her head. Had she been bleeding there?
She touched the spot, fingers coming away damp.
Pulling her hand back, she saw it coated in red…
“Ma’am!”
Mylee gasped.
Yet Lucille remained eerily calm, even through the haze of alcohol. “Call property management. Send a female security guard up.”
“Right away!”
Mylee grabbed her phone, scrolling through recent calls. Seeing Cedrick’s name, her heart ached fiercely for Lucille.
Meanwhile in the KTV room, after Mylee hung up, Harlan eyed Cedrick and Maricela thoughtfully. With a deliberate swipe right, he deleted the call record.
A smug smirk touched his lips. Thank goodness Maricela knew Cedrick’s passcode and told

him–otherwise he couldn’t have erased it!
Hmph! Cedrick deserved true happiness. Both he and Maricela had suffered far too much these years!
Mylee hurt her foot and hand. Her foot got twisted, the ankle swollen like a bun, couldn’t walk. Her arm broke when she hit the ground, no wonder she couldn’t hold her phone steady.
Lucille had a head injury, got stitches, nothing else wrong, just a bit dizzy, maybe from the blood loss besides the drinking.
Lucille worried if she could take a long flight after the stitches.
The doctor didn’t give a clear answer, just asked about the flight time. Counting, it was over ten days away, and since the wound wasn’t big, he said to see how it heals then.
Lucille and Mylee stayed in separate rooms, no one to care for them. The nurse asked about family, Lucille didn’t hesitate, asked the nurse to hire two helpers.
Lucille felt dizzy but still handled everything step by step. Once all was settled, she couldn’t hold on, fell into a deep sleep.
This sleep was heavy and long.
Nurses or doctors came by now and then, making noise. Normally, she’d wake up, but this time, Lucille slept through it all, heard nothing.
Mylee next door worried about her, kept sending helpers to check. The helpers always said: still sleeping.
Mylee got frantic, but the doctor said she was fine, nothing wrong.
Mylee wondered, if nothing’s wrong, why sleep so much?
What annoyed Mylee more: both of them in the hospital, and Cedrick hadn’t called at all?
Even if Lucille slept too deep to hear the phone, her own phone never rang!
She’d called Cedrick that night!
Her calling meant trouble, and Cedrick didn’t call back…
Cedrick did call, but it was the next afternoon.

Lucille just woke up then, missed breakfast and lunch, groggily heard her phone ring in the drawer, woke her up.
She asked a helper to get the phone, caller ID: Cedrick.
She hesitated, answered anyway, Cedrick’s voice came through, “Lucille?”
“Yeah.”
Cedrick paused, “I’ve got a party this afternoon, coming home late.”
Strange, Cedrick never called about being late before, why today?
