Chapter 51 Blood Moon Rising

Chapter 51 Blood Moon Rising

The ground buckled beneath Tiara’s feet without warning.

She gasped as pain speared through her skull, dropping her to one knee. The world tilted, sound warping into a distant echo as silver light burst behind her eyes.

“Tiara!” voices shouted, SilverShield wolves rushing toward her but they never reached her.

The vision took her whole.

She stood beneath a sky split open by fire and shadow. The moon loomed massive and close, soaked in blood-red light, its glow dripping like liquid across the land. Wolves lay scattered across a battlefield that stretched beyond sight. Alphas, wolves, innocents, some kneeling, some fallen, some burning. And at the center of it all…

Tiara saw herself.

Not as she was now but crowned in light and blood, eyes blazing like twin suns. Power rolled off her in waves so strong it bent the world itself.

Then she saw Damien.

He stood opposite her, wounded, defiant, his Alpha aura flickering like a dying flame. Between them, a chasm split the earth, filled with shadows that screamed her name.

“One must fall,” a voice whispered in an ancient, vast, feminine voice.

The Moon Goddess.

“For balance to be restored, blood must answer blood.”

Tiara shook her head violently. “No,” she whispered. “There has to be another way.”

The Moon Goddess stepped from the crimson light, her form both beautiful and terrifying, made of moonlight, bone, and sorrow. Her eyes held endless nights.

“You were born to break cycles, the Goddess said softly. But even breakers must pay a price.”

The vision shattered.

Tiara screamed as she snapped back into her body, collapsing fully this time. Hands caught her, strong, familiar.

“Tiara. Tiara, look at me!”

Damien.

Her vision swam as she clutched his arm, breath coming in sharp gasps. The moonlight above them had changed, it was no longer silver.

Red.

The Blood Moon had begun to rise.

“I saw it,” Tiara whispered hoarsely. “The prophecy… it’s not symbolic. It’s literal.”

Damien’s jaw tightened, his grip firm but gentle. “Tell me.”

She swallowed hard. “The Moon Goddess says balance demands sacrifice. An Alpha for an Alpha.”

Silence stretched between them, thick and suffocating.

Damien forced a steady breath. “Then she’s wrong.”

Tiara looked up at him, silver eyes shining with fear she refused to let anyone else see. “What if she isn’t?”

Before he could answer, a sharp pulse tore through the bond, very cold, invasive.

Damien stiffened.

Tiara felt it too.

Betrayal.

Far from the battlefield, Damien stood in another place in his mind, a council chamber lit by torchlight and lies. His trusted allies packs who had sworn loyalty to SilverShield stood in quiet clusters.

And they were lying.

Damien’s wolf snarled as fragments snapped into place. Missing scouts. Delayed reinforcements. Information that should never have leaked.

A conspiracy.

Not outside. Within.

He pulled away from Tiara slowly, forcing calm into his voice. “Something’s wrong with our allies. Three packs, or four. They’ve been feeding information to someone.”

Tiara pushed herself upright despite the lingering dizziness. “NightFang?”

Damien shook his head grimly. “Worse. The Moon Council. My father.”

Her hands curled into fists. “So while we fight monsters in the dark, the knife is already at our backs.”

“Yes,” he said quietly. “And they’re waiting for the Blood Moon to strike.”

Above them, the moon climbed higher, crimson light washing over the land. Wolves across the territory lifted their heads uneasily, instincts screaming.

Tiara pressed a hand to her chest as her bond with Damien flared painfully. The pull between them intensified with raw, desperate, almost unbearable.

“Damien…” Her voice trembled despite her effort. “If the prophecy is true…”

He stepped closer, cutting her off. “Don’t finish that sentence.”

She met his gaze. “You heard what the Goddess said.”

“I don’t care,” he snapped, anger flashing through his restraint. “I will not let some ancient prophecy decide that one of us has to die to keep the world comfortable.”

Emotion surged through her, sharp and aching. “This isn’t about comfort. It’s about balance.”

“Then the world needs to learn a new balance,” he said fiercely. “One where we don’t sacrifice the people we love.”

Her throat tightened. For a moment, she let herself lean into him, forehead resting against his chest as the Blood Moon bathed them in red light.

Around them, SilverShield wolves gathered silently, sensing the shift. Fear rippled through the pack but so did resolve. They watched Tiara, waiting.

She straightened slowly, drawing strength from their eyes, their faith.

“I won’t run from this,” she said, voice steady now. “If the Moon Goddess wants a test, I’ll face it. But I won’t walk into it blind.”

Damien nodded once. “Then we expose the traitors. We control the battlefield. And we force the prophecy to bend.”

A distant howl echoed long, low, filled with dark triumph.

“NightFang.”

Tiara looked toward the horizon. Under the Blood Moon, shadows moved where they shouldn’t. Power gathered like a storm holding its breath.

Her wolf stirred, ancient and resolute.

“If sacrifice is demanded,” it whispered, “ let it be chosen not taken.”

The crimson moon reached its peak, flooding the land in blood-red light.

And across
the battlefield, the Blood Moon marked the beginning of something that could no longer be stopped.

The prophecy had begun.
