Chapter - 65: Coming Clean With Alpha Zed
(Faedra's POV).
“You keep staring like the lobsters would bite. It's just lobster. It has been cooked on fire, Faedra.” Zed complained for the umpteenth time. I burst out into a squeal of laughter before holding it down to the sides of my belly; it was beginning to hurt
He picked me up at the house earlier today. I believed it would be awkward between us, but it seemed worse at home in Castor, Shade and Sheila. I needed to pick one, and I chose to stay with Zed.
Although I once turned him down and I hardly saw the way he did change anything, I was still head over heels for the twins, and I could not hide my feelings for them.
I made it known to Zed, who didn't bother me a bit. I didn't understand it; he had given me everything I wanted, never pushed me around, and got down the spot, I needed him the most; he was always around. He never walked all around me; everything I wanted he had given to me, and there I went. Above all, a lot just happened. I still had fucked up feelings for the twins, and I just couldn't find myself feeling that at all for Zed.
“Okay, you know what? Let's change the plate... I'll order something else for you, let's swap out food,” he added in, and a pout formed on my lips.
“I'll eat it; I heard it tastes good; it's just the crabs. They've got hooky things, and the lobsters won't stop staring at me. I complained while laughter scaled zed lips. At first, I stared at him, completely perplexed, but then I keyed into his laughter, too unstable to control how enchanting and contagious his laughter was.
“They are crabs; they thrive and like that. You know what? Let's head on to the beach you will have some rice up there; all I know is you'll feel the tree; I need your help; I messed up a bit of those times of yours.'' Zed added in again, and we both stood from the table. He ignited the engine of the car, and soon we were on the road headed towards the beach.
I almost believed things going down south between the both of us, but it seemed to be nothing but plain ass lies on my end. So far, he has been funny, cracked jokes, and laughed a whole lot at intervals; I almost forgot the harsh reality things were.
This was why it was better to be friends. I was awkward at first, but he lifted my spirits. He wasn't imposing anything on me, he certainly had not spoken a thing about the feelings he had for me, unlike shade and castor, who would have it into my ears as they acted off the next day.
I shook my head, not wanting to draw more problems from my past or current situation. It was my vacation. A two-day rest from them had I decided at the moment to spend it wisely and how I deemed it fit.

“I'll get you something to eat; you can take a stroll, and I'll catch up with you, but please don't go near the crabs; these ones actually bite,. '' he teased with a laugh, and a giggle escaped my throat.
“Whatever, Zed, I wasn't scared!” I yelled behind him, but he kept on at his laughter, headed to grab some food for me.
The sun was down and the breeze made things better. The cold wind of the day was blowing slowly against my body, and I walked by the side of the sea, my legs feeling the warmth as it reeled through me up my spine and every inch of my body.
But then I tensed up again; I could never be too careful. Here I was feeling the best, almost forgetting that I had a near-death experience a few days ago.
Life has its bits, and I was not to end up dead all because of some conspiracy, besides the boys, in love with me or not, toying around with me or not.
I had seen how nasty things got when it came to my safety; I didn't want anyone hurt, nor did I want Zed to get himself into trouble because of me as well.
Zed drew closer to me with a smile on his face. He had two drinks in coconut shells, and an extra one which had rice in it.
"Take your seat up there till you are done eating,” he asked, and I nodded before stepping up onto the beach. My eyes pinned, against the vast space of the sea, travelling down until its line blended along with that of the sky.
“It's beautiful, isn't it?” Zed asked, and I nodded with a smile. His eyes lingered on my lips a little before he finally averted his gaze.
“You're beautiful, Faedra, beautiful like the sea. Calm like these waves.” He added in, and laughter scaled my throat.
“Now you're teasing me? Your quotes... Alpha Zed. Shakespeare.” I teased, and we both burst into another round of laughter till It finally died down.
“Can I ask you a question, Zed?" I asked out of the blue. His eyes slowly moved onto mine.
“Sure, what's wrong?” He asked slowly, and I swallowed down the rice, which I had chugged down my throat.
“There is a little bit of an issue; the problem at the end of it... I wouldn't be harboring anything, but why do you think someone would want me dead?” I asked, my heart killing off the beats in my chest while he sighed and glanced in my direction, a smile still on his face.
“Don't think too much about it; I'll find out the truth on the matter. I have my best men working, but the person was just too good. As a matter of fact, I had been thinking, I see, we were on the run from people; it would be them; I mean, they've been chasing after you for a really long time. Same with Shade and Castor, they found you, so maybe this person found you as well.” he explained.
“I'm not sure, Zed; whoever has been after me may want a lot of things... but not my death; I'm still more useful to them alive than dead. I know it's someone else, but who?” I asked while Zed and I both stared at each other in silence.
“Is there something else you are keeping from me Faedra?” Zed asked taking me by surprise.
A frown etched even wider on my face while I listened to his words, I wasn't sure what it was that made him so keen on his words.
“you didn't ask me about who I truly was zed, and if you had asked, I would have spoken to you about it” I explained bluntly but his confused look still remained plastered to his face. “I am Alpha Liddell's daughter...” I lied. Deep within me I knew it was nothing but lies.
“I was raised by him but he always treated me badly, I was weak unlike everybody else so I was abused physically, emotionally and mentally, although I ran from home at the beginning my father has sought after me, I had no choice, I could not just return home, I had gotten pregnant for the twins already, and he would not want me dead if anything he wants me to return home, married off to someone else.. But shade and castor, they are my cousins.” I explained bluntly to see who remained stunned staring at me.
