Chapter - 62: Poisoned?
(Faedra's POV).
I paced about slowly in my room before finally allowing my gaze to be fixed against that of the windows. The breeze blew slightly against my face while I heaved a louder sigh. My eyes moved down to my belly, and I ran my hands over feeling a little bit unsettled.
My bump had begun growing and my hormones were all I've the place, I was getting more restless, or perhaps it could be because I had not seen the sunlight for a couple of days.
It'd been days, and I had been sure enough to keep to myself. I hardly stepped a foot out of my room, and neither did they bother coming to me. Sheila had been sure to avoid me as well; matter of fact, she has no longer tendered to my duties ever since the incident. However, Zeds Beta had been around most time, helping with anything else I needed to do.
It made me feel way worse than I might have expected. The whole talk of being mated with him was way too far-fetched; I wasn't sure what the truth was, and I wouldn't lie about it either; he had never been hard on me and had been the nicest of every single soul I had known all through my life.
He certainly would not lie about a thing as such to me either, but I still made no sense; I couldn't feel the bond, and I wasn't sure I wanted to feel it either. I saw Zed in the light of a mere friend and nothing else; whatever it was that had been winding me up for a whole lot of times, it was necessary for me to be keyed into it.
I preferred us being friends and nothing more than the whole talk of being mated was only going to complicate things readily available for any other new scene that could be caused. I preferred things as they had been while I kept myself, not running into Shade or Castor.
I wondered what made me change. I wasn't feeling unnecessarily sorry for them; the feelings I had for them seemed jinxed; perhaps it had to do with not running into them, as we had all avoided one another for days.
What had I been thinking? I really must have lost my mind for a moment, thinking I had feelings for them. What was there to like about them? From the very moment I met with them, it had been nothing but pure torture, and I was no longer interested in them.
They both made my life a living hell at any chance they simply got, and I had been a fool for thinking there could be anything sensible between us.
I took a deep breath before pushing forward on my feet. I needed some air. I couldn't remain cooped up in my room all along. I needed some air. I needed to face reality, whether I felt like it or not.
However, I had no idea where I was headed until I finally set foot right by their door. It was halfway opened, and I could hear muffled moans from it.
A gasp escaped my lips, so I stared deeper into the little space left. It had been Castors and Shades room; it made no sense.
But my heart rate increased. I swallowed hard and stuck to my feet hastily, my heart skipping bears and nearly jumped off my chest in sight of him. It had been Sheila and Shade kissing.
Like their lives depended on it with all the attention.
However, a louder gasp escaped my lungs as I ran into someone. It happened to be Zed; he had a wide smile on his face, and I heard footsteps as well.
It had been shade, and Sheila, sweat broke off from my forehead for fear of getting caught. I felt guilty for sneaking up on them, and even worse, I felt hurt by the scene I had witnessed.
I believed I had gotten over them, but I was wrong.
Shade and Sheila soon ran towards me. staring at both Zed and me intensely. I tensed up, scared to be caught, but Zed remained calm as he wrapped his arms around my shoulders, turning face-to-face with them.
“Well, you all seem to be home,” Zed added slowly, while a frown formed on Shade's face as he stared at me intently.
“What's going on here?” He asked, and I tensed up yet again, blood pumping fast in my veins, scared that I had been done and screwed over.
“I came to take Faedra out on a date with me, but it seemed like you all were out at the wrong time.” Zed lied, breaking my side immediately, and he seemed to have understood I was in trouble.
“I don't understand; you seem a little suspicious.” Shade retorted; he didn't seem to be convinced by Zed's words, but then he should, he had heard someone snooping around where I was sweating terribly like I had stolen something and easily selling myself off to guilt.
“What's this about?” Shade asked again, his voice low and cold yet menacing, while Zed let a stiff breeze through his lips.
“I don't see anything wrong or huge of a deal going out on a date with Faedra..” Zed responded, raking my eyes again.
“Yes, it probably sounds like a good idea; she shouldn't be cooped up in the house for so long,” Sheila added in hastily, and I knew she was merely sending me off on purpose, all because of her terrible intentions.
I worked my lips as if to speak and was quick to close them shut when I felt Zed's palm Tap lightly against my back, slowly.
“You know what? It'd be better this way; I really should be. I was thinking of using this as an opportunity to find out who had poisoned Faedra.” Zed blurted out, and my gaze widened while I glanced in his direction.
What was he saying?
What had he meant?I was poisoned?
