Axel’s P.O.V.
The Hospital
I wake to a bright room, blinking my eyes to try and get them to focus. Opening my eyes and looking around the room, I noticed that I am in a hospital room and to my left stands Rickardo.
“What happened?” I asked him.
“You guys were ambushed at the docks by Janet and what looked to be a gang. You buddy were shot in the shoulder. Heard she wanted you dead.” He said to me.
“Yeah, she said if she couldn’t have me Jaycee or any other woman can’t either, then she shot me.” I explained to him.
“Ace and I think there my be a rat within the new recruits.”
“Is Jaycee ok, she didn’t find her, right?” I asked siting up, even though it shouldn’t be y first question due to the fact that she is my cousin Ace’s fiancé, but I can’t stop caring or loving her, not yet anyway.
“Yes, Stepahn, Garett and Ace went to the house. He is planning to come see you as soon as he knows Jaycee’s alright.” He says.
“Good!” I say leaning into the pillows behind my back and head. Relief washes over me and I can see Ricardo realizes too.
“You need to get over her, if not for your sake then do it for them.” Ricardo says softly to me in a comforting way.
“I know it’s simply hard to do man, I am trying though. Why do you think I turned Ace away when he asked fo the two of them to move into our apartment? I would be able to move on if she was there 24/7.” I say to him looking him right in his eyes, so he knows that I am being honest with him.
“I understand, and you are actually doing a good job of being there for her and not hitting on her.” He says with a chuckle.
“I know, but her happiness means more to me even if that means that I am not the one making her happy.” I explained to him exactly how I am feeling. “I will always be there for her.” I added.
“I know and even though it’s hard for you I appreciate it and I know she does as well. He reassured me that my actions are not out of vain. The door opens at this point in our conversation and in walks Ace.
“How you feeling cuz?” He asked me.
“Not bad. How’s the girls?” I asked because I am also concerned for my sister since she too was in the house with Jaycee a the time of Janet’s attack.
“ Their fine, Jaycee took really good care of Carmella. You have to get her used to your life man, I mean she is going to your wife, and your lifestyle scares the shit out of her. Stephan said that when the floor opened up and he called for them She was holding on to Jaycee’s hand for dare life.” Ace explains to Ricardo the sight that was seen when the whole thing was over and done with.
“What happened to Janet?” I asked the ultimate question. They both look at each then to me. “What?” I asked.
“She got away, but not before Viper was able to shoot her in her leg. The two guys with Viper were able to however kill the two that were with her. “I already checked the hospital and she didn’t come here, but I was told how her father was called home with an emergency.” Ricardo says.
“To help her with her wound none the less.” I say disgusted with the whole thing. Why can’t she just move on and leave Jaycee and I alone? “So does anyone know when I can leave this hell whole, I mean it was just a damn graze.” I say not wanting to stay here where her father works, it will give her easy excess to me, look what almost happened to Jaycee while she was here. “Hey, I think we should really think about finding a different hospital.” I say to them.
“Were just waiting n a nurse to give you your discharge papers, and as for a different hospital, I am actually thinking about hiring a doctor just to take care of us and our members. I just have to figure out which of the five warehouses I want to add a small hospital to.” Ricardo answers me. The nurse finally comes in, I sign the discharge papers and Ace takes me home. As we are driving along I can see Ace is deep in thought.
“What’s going on in that head of yours?” I asked him.
“Just wondering if your going to be able to help us move into our apartment tomorrow or not, also all us guys are expected to go get the tux on Saturday.”
“Oh, I’ll be there for both. I think you still have stuff to pack at he apartment, if you want to come in and pack them up, there are some boxes in the hall closet that you were using while you were here.”
“Yeah, I can do that. There shouldn’t be much to pack.” He says as we pull into the underground garage. We go into the apartment after I unlock the door and he heads straight for the closet and then his old room, which is now Carlos’, wait where is Carlos?
“Hey Ace, where’s Carlos. Was he at the house when you were there, is she still there?” I asked. Ace comes out of the room with two boxes putting them by the front door he then turns around to answer me.
“He was shot in the arm and so was another guard, a third guard was shot in the leg, hey were taken to the hospital, not sure if it’s the one we were just at, I reckon Ricardo asked around before he left. I just got two more.” He tells me as he heads back to his old room. Carlos then walks in the door.
“Just a graze.” He says as he takes a seat on the couch.
“Me too.” I tell him. “Are you and Viper still able to guard the girls on Saturday?” I asked him.
“Yeah and I heard we are also helping them move tomorrow too.” Carlos says as Ace comes into the room with two more boxes.
“That’s it. Carlos how you feeling?” Ace asked as he walks past the four boxes and to the door.
“Fine and yes, I will be able to do guard duty.” He answers before Ace can ask and walks towards his bedroom. Ace leaves and then I head to bed too. (I wonder how tomorrow will go?)
