CHAPTER 185 - SOUL FRAGMENTS

“Hybrid?” Morgana called my attention, handing me an Orcs necklace and kneeling in front of me. “During the unsuccessful extraction, Elara managed to pull a small fragment of his dark soul, trapping it in the stone. I believe her idea was to save some part of him.”

Holding the stone in the palm of my hand, I observed its transparency and the light moving within. I closed my eyes, squeezing them in my hands, hoping to feel a small fragment of his presence.

“Don't lose hope!” The reclusive witch stood up, nodding towards Selena, who was screaming in distress. “She needs us.”

I nodded, standing up and going to my friend. I sat beside her, enveloping her in my arms in a tight embrace.

“I'm so sorry,” I said in a hushed tone, allowing our pain and tears to mix.

“Why didn't she step back? Didn't she cast a spell against him?” Selena moved out of my arms to confront me. “Why didn't she defend herself?”

“She wanted to get close enough to the pup to extract a fragment of his soul without the Shadow King noticing... Unfortunately, it cost her life!” The Lycan king growled, standing and staring at us.

“I fear that, with what we witnessed here today, it's only a matter of time until darkness overtakes our world,” Selena sighed, trying to compose herself. “We need to bring Conan back and attempt the ritual again!”

“We will!” I growled determinedly. “We'll bring him back. That… wasn't my son.”

“First, let's bury our people and release their brave souls,” Oliver spoke, hands-on Selena's shoulders. “Your mother deserves the ancestral passage ritual; let's take the body back to the witches' city.”

She nodded, crying more, embracing the beta, who seemed surprised by the witch's reaction.

“Come, Luna...” Harvey lifted me in his arms, descending from the mountaintop. “You're badly hurt.”

“It's not my wounds that hurt...” I laid my head on his shoulders, crying.

“I know it's not...” He whispered in my ear. “I have an idea of where Conan might have gone. Heal yourself, and we'll set out to find him.”

“To where?” I lifted my head from his chest, delicately touching his face.

“There's a place known as the gateway to the underworld. If the Shadow King is dominating our pup's soul, that's where he'll go!” The Alpha growled, entering the healing river with me. “However, I believe all our enemies will be concentrated there; they probably already know about our plan to fragment the Shadow King's soul.”

“I don't care about the army of darkness, be it hundreds; we'll slaughter them all and free our son!” I declared, clenching my fists with determination.

“Hunf, maybe this battle will be the toughest yet...” Harvey commented, leaning against the river's edge and tilting his head back, gazing at the sky.

“What worries you?” I approached, our bodies coming together, feeling the magical water unite our skins, forming scars over the exposed wounds. “Do you think we won't make it?”

The Lycan king turned his face, tilting his head to look at me. His gaze was deep, the intense blue shimmering in shades of gray, weighing what he would say. He caressed my face, pulling me closer to his body between his legs.

“Human, if I'm lost, I want you to continue with the pack. Be the strong Luna you've become, the one I trained.” He maintained the contact, brushing his lips against mine. “And don't you dare let another wolf touch you!”

I laughed at his comment.

“Don't expect me to be a widow without lovers forever, right?” I joked, becoming serious afterward. “Don't say those things; it's not like you to think you'll die... You're an Alpha with a powerful beast inside you, and...”

I bit my lips, making him follow the movements. Lifting my chin, Harvey approached, pressing our mouths together in a gentle but dominant kiss. I sighed; it was always like this; his touches took me to an inexplicable ecstasy. Biting my lower lip, he pulled away.

“And?” The Alpha squinted his eyes, trying to decipher my thoughts.

“I don't want to live a life without you...” I confessed, making him smile. “I think you were right. What you want, indeed, you conquer!”

“Sophie, our connection goes beyond this life. Don't be foolish… In case we're not on the same plane, my soul will always accompany me and wait for the right moment to be back by my side.” Harvey brushed his fangs against my neck, making me shiver.

“Stop talking like that; it's even scary for you...” I held his face in my hands, assessing his perfect features. “What's happening that you don't want to tell me?”

“I've always trained you to survive; it's to keep going even without me.” He growled impatiently, the alpha taking my lips again. His kiss was fierce and needy.

Tearing the remaining shreds of clothing, he turned me forcefully, with dominance. Biting my shoulders and back, he supported my buttocks, opening a bit to the side and giving me space to delve even deeper. I moaned in desire, shivering with each thrust, digging my claws into the small grass growing around the lake. Harvey ran his hand through my hair, pulling my head back, growling with delight.

“But never forget who you belong to, my she-wolf!” The alpha bit my shoulder with force, leaving his mark. I growled in response, pushing my hips back in search of more of him. “You better hold on tight...”

I looked over my shoulders, seeing him smile boldly. His intensity had increased; my claws sank into the earth, supporting my body in place. With his free hand, he descended my stomach, reaching my intimacy, caressing the most sensitive spot, teasing provocatively.

“Alpha...” I moaned, feeling the climax approaching.

Turning me to face him, he licked his finger and returned to my delicate point. I shivered, grabbing his strong arms and squeezing. With his hand, Harvey pressed me down, making me lie on the foliage, fondling my breasts while not ceasing to stimulate my intimacy with his finger. I bit my lips in excitement; his eyes sparkled with delight at the sight, deepening one finger and then the other. He smiled with each moan that escaped between my fangs.

Throwing his body forward, Harvey plunged inside, in gentle movements that gradually increased in intensity.
