335- What the Fire Hid
POV Seraphine Valerian:
I ran into the left tunnel, following my instincts. It narrowed a bit, but enough to pass without crouching. Gasping, sensing something wrong. A strange smell, of poop. Or something very dirty.
I stopped for a second, not knowing how long I’d been there, if I’d made any progress. Or where the odor was coming from. What if an animal was nearby?
I raised the candle, and that’s when my scream echoed. Hanging above me, some bats were swaying upside down and flapped their wings at the light. They flew towards me, and terror engulfed me as I turned and ran back the way I came.
I lost my mind, shaking myself, screaming when they hit my head. I ran, and the candle slipped from my hand, extinguishing on the ground. I was swallowed by darkness, terrified, beside myself with fear.
Unable to see anything anymore, I didn’t go back for the candle, wanting only to save myself from the horrible creatures. I still heard the flapping of wings and sped up, my nails breaking against the wall, until I lost my balance and collided with the rock.
My shoulder hurt, and I fell to my knees. Even with the lycra pants, I felt one scrape and burn. I barely cared, only thinking about the bats. I stood up, felt around, ran more, bumping into things.
Finally, the noise of the animals stopped, and I leaned against the rock, struggling to calm down. I would go back to the fork and take the right path. I just needed to breathe and see the place.
I was trembling so much that when I lifted my blouse and grabbed the matchbox, it slipped through my fingers and fell to the ground.
“Shit! Damn it!”
Panic almost swallowed me whole, there in total darkness, afraid the bats would return or attack me. What if there was a vampire, too?
“Ah...”
I crouched down, running my hand over the floor, searching for the box. That’s when I heard a different sound and froze.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Rhythmic beats, echoing towards me. I blinked, blind, biting my lips to keep from screaming. What was that?
I moved my fingers slowly. Leaves, dampness, a little dirt. No matches at my feet. I started to stand up, still leaning against the wall. Behind me, the bats. Ahead, the measured sound. Thud. Thud. Thud.
Were they footsteps? Beats on the wall?
I needed to act, make a choice, almost wetting myself with sheer terror. Tears filled my eyes. A sob escaped, and knowing I would be found by the approaching animal, I prepared to run towards the known. The bats.
“Ahhhhhhhhhh...”
I screamed like a madwoman when I was grabbed by something huge, cornered.
“Caught the runaway!”
I froze, on the verge of a heart attack. His voice jolted me, immediately followed by his perfume. Viktor. It was him pinning me against the wall.
I screamed, thrashed, furious. A hoarse laugh followed in the darkness, and my wrists were easily secured above my head by just one of his hands. His huge, muscular body kept me captive.
“Let me go...” I demanded, fear and rage turning me cold. “Let me go, Viktor!”
“Now that the game is getting good?” he said near my ear and inhaled the scent of my hair.
I shuddered, breathless, voiceless. I became acutely aware of his strong thigh between my legs, his chest pressing against me, his virile, warm aroma dominating my nerve endings. The fact that I couldn’t see anything made my other senses sharper.
“You thought you could run from me?”
“I... I will always try...”
“Next time, you might encounter a real beast. Maybe a big, black wolf. He won’t be as calm as I am.”
“You’re not calm. Let me go.”
“You haven’t convinced me yet, gypsy.”
I licked my dry lips, my belly twisting as his lips traced my face. He grunted softly, never stopping his sniffing. His hips pressed against mine, and then something began to grow. Fast, hard, destroying my reasoning.
I gasped at the powerful, heavy erection against my belly. I felt weak, unsteady, when his rough, wet tongue licked from my chin to my lips.
I fell. I fell endlessly into overwhelming, volatile sensations, opening my mouth, needing so much more that it seemed I would die if he didn’t give it to me.
“Fuck...”
He snarled, and then his mouth was on mine, taking, kissing, invading.
I moaned deliriously, receiving his hungry tongue, the voracious kiss. I pressed against him, trembling all over, dripping with excitement and desire. Viktor released my wrists and grabbed me, lifting me off the ground, while I grabbed him back.
The taste, the saliva, the delight... flowing inside me, intoxicating me in that mad, seductive vortex. I held onto his neck, opened my legs, and welcomed him between them.
He squeezed me against the wall and devoured me ravenously, sucking my tongue, snarling again.
His cock pressed, rubbing against the most sensitive part of my body. I dripped, sticky, running my hands over his shoulders and hair, crossing my ankles behind him, undulating with every movement.
I whimpered when his large hands passed over my breasts, leaving my nipples hard, begging for more. And that mouth... that mouth throwing me into a scalding delirium, creating needs I never thought possible.
I crackled with pleasure, my cunt on fire, my mind spinning.
Until it all stopped, and I found myself lost, dizzy.
Viktor pulled away suddenly, grabbing me under my arms and setting me on the ground. He retreated with absurd speed, and I swayed, my weak legs barely holding me.
“Viktor...” I didn’t understand anything, drugged, hearing him breathe heavily near me. “What...”
He said nothing for a few seconds, and I reached out my hand, until I saw his eyes. Two golden pools in the dark, like lit points. I froze.
“Let’s get the hell out of here!”
He grabbed my arm and started pulling me behind him. Confused, trembling, I felt his absence. It was a painful hunger, tearing me up inside. And it disoriented me.
I stumbled, shaken and weak from the violently interrupted lust. He snarled louder and picked me up as if I weighed nothing, throwing me over his shoulder. He ran so fast I screamed, trying to hold on, confused by how his eyes could see through all the blackness that enveloped us.
He didn’t stop. Not even when he kicked the old gate far away and headed towards the castle.
