The Calculus of Nothing

The Calculus of Nothing
🔥 Deployment from the Golden Anchor
The Throne Room, having been briefly chilled by the Archangels’ presence, now roared with the heat of pure logistics. Lucifer was gone, having retreated to the deepest command layer of the Siphon Array, where the calculus of war was performed on the structure of spacetime itself.
Lillith stood on the high platform, overlooking the vast, newly unified Armory of the Anchor. Below, the legions of Mammon and Belial were being organized with terrifying speed. Astaroth's influence was evident in the fluid efficiency of the assembly—demons, usually chaotic and self-serving, were now moving with the terrifying precision of a machine.
Mammon, his form encased in gleaming black armor detailed with ancient, solidified gold, was overseeing the deployment of the 'Hellfire Forges'—mobile artillery platforms capable of projecting structured reality-energy.
“The supply routes are locked, Queen Lillith,” Mammon’s voice crackled over the command-link, his tone cold and purely professional. “Belial’s fast-attack units are in position to screen the vanguard. But I must voice my concern again: this target is too deep. We are committing our best forces to an untested strategy on the very fringe of collapse.”
Lillith watched a column of Belial's winged, obsidian-armored shock troops lift into the cavernous space.
“Your concern is logged, Duke Mammon,” she replied, her voice firm. “But the strategy is not untested. It is necessary. The fragment is stable, and it’s growing fast. If we allow it to mature, it will become a permanent, self-sustaining tear. Lucifer is giving us a narrow window to perform a precision strike. If you want to retain your wealth, you must protect the reality that contains it.”
🌌 The Void Target: The Scar of Existence
The holographic Siphon Array shifted, now showing a single, devastating target. It was designated $Target\\ Alpha$: a region of space near the upper celestial tiers where a Void Fragment had anchored itself to the fabric of existence. It was not a hole, but a scar—a swirling vortex of pure, energetic absence.
Lucifer’s voice, calm and utterly devoid of emotion, echoed into the Armory from the command center. “The Host’s strategy was containment. A failed effort to bind the fragment with light-energy. It acted as food. Our strategy is annihilation.”
The projection zoomed in. The Fragment was not fighting with heat or force; it was fighting with erasure. Anything that touched its perimeter simply ceased to have a physical or energetic signature.
“Mammon, your Forges must project a structured reality-field that mimics the Father’s original creation matrix,” Lucifer instructed. “It will be a temporary scaffold, a five-second window to give the assault units a surface to stand on. Belial, your legions use that window for a focused, deep strike. They must deliver the payload into the Fragment's core.”
“The payload, Morningstar?” Belial’s voice was a harsh, metallic rasp. “It’s a risk for even my best. What exactly are they delivering?”
“The Sarcophagus of Essence,” Lucifer stated. “It’s a prison matrix designed to instantly collapse and bind unstructured chaos. It was designed for the Elder Things—it should suffice for the Void. It requires a direct, zero-meter delivery into the Fragment’s energetic heart.”
💥 First Contact
The first wave of Mammon's support units—hulking, six-legged walkers—exited the Anchor’s reality portal and appeared on the scarred edge of existence. The view through the command sensor was jarring: they were standing on what looked like glass cracking over a chasm of night.
As they began to deploy their reality-fields, the Void Fragment reacted. It didn't launch an attack; it simply expanded.
The air—the very concept of 'space'—around the first five walkers violently collapsed. They didn't explode or burn. They were instantaneously unmade. There was no debris, no energy signature, and no trace of their presence left on the command log. They simply were not.
A wave of fear rippled through the command-link.
"The Fragment is learning our field harmonics!" Mammon shouted, his professional calm breaking. "It is collapsing the field structure before it can solidify!"
Lillith immediately stepped in, her hands flying across the Array’s controls. "Astaroth, override the structural sequence! Change the field's fundamental constants—give it an unstable reality signature. Make it look like a trap!"
Lucifer watched the data streams, his golden eyes burning with focus. “It is a pure predator, seeking only structure to feed on. Give it chaos, Lillith. Give it something it cannot parse.”
The next five Forges deployed their fields. This time, the protective scaffolding flickered erratically, composed of contradictory laws of physics—a deliberate, chaotic anomaly. The Void Fragment recoiled, unable to immediately absorb the impossible logic.
“Go, Belial!” Lillith commanded.
The first squadron of Belial's shock troops, led by his most ruthless general, plunged through the chaotic, temporary bridge of false reality. They flew straight toward the heart of the swirling blackness, carrying the precious, life-or-death payload.
The fate of reality was now riding on the speed, cunning, and cold discipline of Hell’s legions.
