Tasmanian Devils

**James**

Thirty-two highly trained lycans were staring at me to hear my plan. I had observed all the movement that was happening on the ground to enter the castle.

The logic was to take the group of humans who would enter early in the morning to take turns working and enter the employee areas. We would be divided into two groups: one that would hold back the workers who were on their way and another that would take the place of those who were leaving.

Caspian and I would be free to find Vicky and get her out of there as quickly as possible, the others would try to ally themselves with Marcelo's wizards, help avenge the queen, since they had been defamed and make the safe removal of everyone, ensuring that the vampires were neutralized.

It seemed ambitious, but we had all been trained for this, some for years. I needed to smell my mate, because Tunder would lead me to her, wherever she was in that castle.

I told Vicky that I would block her and that I would be with her soon. “Thank you.” That’s what she said. I wanted to say many things, but that wasn’t the time. Defeating the humans was easy. Dominique, the vampire who was our trainer, knew the way to the dungeon. There was a small door that led to a staircase. We went up and I began to smell the smell of coffee and vanilla, the smell of my companion. We came across a large golden door. It was above the dungeon and below the main hall, as Dominique had described.

Tunder was agitated. We had to open the door with explosives and entered a large hall with black velvet curtains and several beds shaped like boxes. We started the boxes. If there was a vampire, they would be staked in the heart. If it was a wizard, we would break the chains, freeing them. I ran to the bed where she was.

“Vicky, I’m going to open it. Be careful.”

Caspian and I broke the lid of the tomb-box. Caspian broke the chain that bound her feet and I picked her up. She was scared, but she smiled at me. Her eyes filled with tears along with mine. I wanted to kiss her, but it wasn't the right thing to do, I couldn't help but smell her hair.

"Brother, let's get her out of here," Caspian shouted.

Marcelo approached us. We need her here." "No," I said categorically.

"James, please, we have a good plan, we need to execute it."

I could lose her there in two ways: dying in that castle or hating myself for contradicting her again and not taking into consideration what she wanted. Both would make me lose her for good.

"What do you want to do, Vicky? Don't think about what others want you to do. What do you want? And think that you may be sealing our end with your decision, but I will accept whatever you choose."

She looked at me in disbelief. It seemed like he didn't expect this from me. Or at least he knew how much this was costing me.

" I want to stay and fight until the end. But I want you to save yourselves. You, James, think about Liz. Go home, please."

" No. If you stay, I'll stay. If the world were ending, I'd want to be by your side."

Marcelo took the floor:

"If we can reach the main hall, the witches will ally with me. I'll kill Wladimir and Vicky will poison Jean. We'll all go back home."

"If anything happens to her, I'll kill you. Am I clear?"

" Her safety is also important to me. She'll only be safe with her father dead, believe me. I had to lose my mother to understand that."

"I saw sincerity in him. Although I didn't like his intimacy with my mate."

We followed our commander's orders. The vampire Dominique led us along the way. We took the hall. We just didn't expect to interrupt a meeting of the Supernatural Council. The witches of the Queen's Coven hugged Marcelo. I could see the lycan king, Darius, escorted by the alpha of alphas, Carlos, and two more royal guards.

"What's going on here?" - The king of the Fairies, who was presiding over the session, gave the floor to Marcelo.

" We were prisoners underground. We were taken by surprise and chained in tombs. An unfriendly reception for a prince, can you explain that, Nosferatu?"

"Some mistake by my guards, I was informed that strangers were invading, I didn't know the prince was in the group."

"But, we announced that Marcelo was arriving for an audience". - Morgan, my mother's soul brother wizard, protested.

" Silence!" - Serenius, the king of the fairies, shouted. "If you, Marcelo, are alright, we should continue our session and give the verdict quickly. Our intention here is to punish the murderer of the witch queen. Let's get this over with."

"Who is accused?" - Marcelo asked.

"Prince Dimitri." - Serenius said.

"That's a lie." - My companion shouted and even though she was right, I didn't like seeing her defending that vampire..

" Who is this?" - Serenius was irritated.

"This is my daughter, your majesty. I would like to have her by my side."

Vicky

His words made me feel repulsed. I looked at Marcelo. This was the chance to follow through with our plan. I would have to make Jean believe that I was his friend.

“How peculiar, I didn’t know you had a daughter, Jean. She’s not legitimate, is she?”

“No, Serenius, but as far as I know, that’s not a crime,” Jean replied.

“Come closer, witch.” The fairy king called me.

“My name is Victoria and I’m a werewolf.” I walked over to where the wizards were.

James followed me until I reached Jean, but was prevented from getting close. He growled.

“Commander Hermes, control your lycans, this is a non-negotiable rule, no member of royalty can be threatened.” Serenius reprimanded.

“Forgive me, your majesty, they are companions.” The commander of the Tasmanian Devils replied.

“Commander Hermes, control your lycans, this is a non-negotiable rule, no member of royalty can be threatened.” — It is also a non-negotiable rule that murder is prohibited for sovereigns, and I demand my right to revenge. I want to present my accusation against the Vampire King.

" This is an affront to my house." - Wladimir was harsh.

"I need to hear the complaint anyway." - Serenius let Marcelo speak.

" I want to challenge him in this arena."

"This will be easy and quick". - Wladimir approached.

Marcelo looked at me. He connected with me mentally. It was good that no one knew we could do this.

James didn't take his eyes off me. I know he would do whatever he could to defend me. And I was prepared for some surprise attack from Jean, but I tried to play the role of a daughter in need of affection.

"Âme, get ready!" — I heard Marcelo in my head.

Jean watched with delight, the blame falling all over Wladimir.

"Can't you see that I killed my own son, when I found out what he had done? I did it to honor the rules of this council. What greater proof of innocence could I give?"

"Serenius, I lost my dear wife, but Dimitri paid with his life. There was justice." — Jean pretended to defend Wladimir.

"I'm not convinced it was Dimitri." — Marcelo raised his sword.

Wladimir went for him. I pretended to be fragile and ran into Jean's arms. He hugged me, but his eyes remained on the duel in front of him. I pulled out the dagger that Marcelo had enchanted with poison and stuck it in Jean's jugular. The potion would act quickly. He fell, startled, and struggled on the ground.

Marcelo made a distracting move, the sword hit Wladimir, but it was the sun stone, which Marcelo had hidden, that paralyzed him. The vampire began to melt.

"Arrest these two," Serenius shouted.

Marcelo and I gathered in front of the arena, James and Caspian, and the Tasmanian Devils surrounded us for our protection.

"Witches, the real killer of our queen is Jean. I accused the vampire just to create a distraction. This man is uncontrollably ambitious."

Everyone got excited. While they were arguing, Dario said:

" And for having agreed to the farce and having accused my Tasmanian Devils unjustly, I ask for Wladimir to be imprisoned for a century."

" A member of the vampire royalty must agree." - Serenius asked.

" I agree! " - Valeska said. - "I am the eldest daughter of Dimitri's death. I am Valeska Nosferatu. And, yes, Dimitri was innocent."

"Bring Jean and Wladimir here." - ordered the fairy king.

The two disrespected the rules of this council. Therefore, they have lost their seats in this supernatural circle and their positions will be replaced by Marcelo and Valeska.

Jean struggles, one last time. I feel his hateful gaze on me. But I have no regrets. His head falls to the side, he is dead. And, at that very moment, I feel an explosion inside my chest. I faint.
