Chapter 54: Meeting with the council

Chapter 54: Meeting with the council
When Jack and Matt returned, Sasha was eager to tell them about my idea. Honestly, I couldn't think of why they haven't thought of it themselves. It is rather obvious.

Jack listened eagerly to what Sasha said. " Just ask Allie. It was all her idea." She gestures to me.

" Is it true? Did you think of this brilliant plan?" He said with a surprising tone in his voice.

" Yes." he lurks closer, his gaze sternly on me.

" You are going to be a wonderful Luna." He barely finished the sentence when his lips smacked on mine. The kiss stopped as fast as it began.

" Matt, arrange a gathering with the council, we must tell them of this brilliant idea. You will be coming along so that you can explain to them about your brilliant idea." I can feel my soul leaving my body. I wasn't expecting to speak to the council myself.

" But, I can't talk to them. I get nervous talking to people, damn, I get nervous just by being in a room full of people." He gives me a comforting smile while stroking my cheek gently.

"Don't worry, I will be there every step of the way, besides, my father is one of the council members and so am I, so there will be at least two familiar faces you know." I nod, but still feel a knot in my throat.

There goes my plans for seeing Uncle Buck and popping by at the store.

Matt mind-linked everyone from the council to meet us at the pack haul. I am a little skeptical of going back to the wolf city, after what happened on the night of the festival. I guess I just have to suck it up and push through. after all, when I become the Luna, I would have to learn to be in uncomfortable situations and deal with them.

Sasha helped me pack an overnight bag because we would be staying over at Jack's parents at the mansion. There was no need to pack clothes for him because he had plenty of clothes in his old room at the mansion.

When everything was packed and ready, we were off to the city. The road to the wolf city was bumpy and felt like forever. My bladder already felt like it was going to explode.

" Are you okay dear? You look a little uncomfortable?" Jack asked, placing a hand on my lap.

" Yesss!, actually, no. My bladder feels like it's going to explode." Matt and Sasha burst out laughing.

" I am glad my discomfort pleases you guys!" I throw back.

"We're sorry, Allie. It was just so funny in the moment." Sasha gives a failed attempt at an apology.

"Don't worry. We will be at the border of the city in no time, and then it will be the uncomfortable carriage ride all the way to the mansion" I let out a sigh.

I cross my legs and bite down hard to hold it in. Jack starts a conversation, and I realize that he is trying to distract me. Matt was right, In just a few short moments, we were at the border.

" That is it, I can't hold it anymore." I jumped out of the car and ran into the forest, Jack not so far behind me. When I finally found a bush big enough to cover my entire body, I squatted down and let go. " Oh God!" I moaned with relief.

" Never heard someone being so relieved to take a number one," Jack said from the other side of the bush.

" Well, that someone probably wasn't pregnant." I throw back and he chuckles.

Jack walked to the car with me. When we approached, we noticed that our belongings were already transferred to a carriage and Sasha and Matt were already waiting in the carriage for us.

" Feel a bit better? " Matt mocked.

" Much better. Thank you for asking." I give him my biggest smile. Sasha giggled.

When we finally got to the mansion, I noticed the security was increased there as well. I don't bother asking because I already know it is meant for the rogues.

Like before, The servants opened the carriage door for us and we approached the mansion door, two more guards at the door opened the door for us, bowing their heads at Jack. Jack bowed in return and thanked them. Inside, I remember the night we all got dressed for the festival. Sasha really outdid herself with my dress. I loved that dress.

Jack takes me by the hand leading me down a hall to a door on the right. He knocked three times on the door when I heard his father's voice on the other side." Come in." We did as he said and went inside.

" My God, look who decided to return home." The King said while opening his arms for me to hug him. My heart fills with joy and I embrace in his warm hug.

" How have you been my dear?" He asked with a smile that could light up an entire room. Jack definitely got his father's looks.

" I am just wonderful, now that I am back home. I have missed everyone so much."

" We missed you just as much, wait till your mother-in-law finds out that you have returned. She couldn't stop talking about your little pampering trip from last time. She always wanted a daughter with whom she could do all her shenanigans with.

" I would gladly accompany her on her shenanigans," I reply. He smiles, pulling me in for a second hug.

" I assume that the two of you have sorted out your little hiccup now that you are back."

" Yes, we have father, but that isn't the reason why we are here today. Allie came up with a brilliant plan about the rogues.

I stood aside while I listened to Jack explain to his father about my idea. His dad stays quiet, listening intently while stroking his beard. I don't know whether it is a good or bad thing. He is the King after all, and he is the one who makes the big decisions about all wolf packs.

After what felt like the longest few minutes of my life, Jack's dad finally spoke.

" I don't know why we haven't thought about it before, but it is a brilliant idea. We should arrange a meeting with the council immediately."

" I already arranged a meeting. It is in an hour." Jack's dad smiles.

" Well, why are we waiting around here? Let's get going." Jack's dad opens the door gesturing for us to go.

We all gathered outside waiting for the carriage to arrive. Jack mind-liked Matt and he was with us in no time along with Sasha. We all climb into the carriage on our way to the council meeting. On our way there the nerves started to work their way to me and my pulms started to sweat. I have never spoken to people in a council before, heck, I have never spoken to people in a big group before. I freeze up and my throat closes up.

" We are here," Matt says, snapping me out of my anxiety. We got here so fast. It felt like we just left the mansion.

Matt climbs out first, holding the door open. Sasha follows right behind him and so does Jack's dad. He holds a hand to me and I take it politely. He must have noticed my sweaty palms as he gave me a broad smile.

" Don't worry my child. We will be there with you. We might not be by your side, but we will be in the same room as you. No matter what the other council members say, just remember that we are on your side every step of the way and I have the final say in the matter." I smile and nod. But, it doesn't usher away the ball of nerves I feel building up inside me.

Jack hooks my arm in his and gestures for me to walk toward the lobby. Matt and Sasha are right behind us, Shadowing our every move.

Inside, Jack leans down placing a kiss on the forehead. " Be strong my sweet Allie. Just remember, you are setting a new future for us and our children as well. Every rogue wolf will know that their future was determined by a human Luna." Hearing him say that brings me courage. Knowing that my child would one day know that his or her mother did something great, even though she was just a human. Bringing humans, rogues and werewolves together.

Jack and his dad disappear through a big wooden door, leaving me with Matt and Sasha. I sigh. Matt places a hand on my shoulder. Don't worry. Everything will be okay. You will see. Sasha and I will be by your side every step of the way" He tries to comfort me. I take a deep breath, somewhat more relaxed knowing that they would be by my side.

The big wooden door opens and a woman with blonde long hair tied in a sleek bun comes out.

" They are ready for you now." She gestures for me to go in. I look to Matt for approval, and he nods.
