Chapter 31 - Craig

**Sheldon's P.O.V.**

Once Devil has his fun killing anyone who dared to cross our path, we return home. I believe he killed seven people, but I wasn't paying much attention. I was thinking about what we need to do to stop Hailey and the Blue Moon pack. I tried mindlinking Clark, but he never responded. It seems like he isn't even there to receive a mindlink, which is strange. He's always available whenever I need him.

I shift and walk toward the packhouse naked. I couldn't care less who sees me. Most of the women have already seen me up close and personal. When I reach the front door, I notice a box sitting there. What could this be? I haven't sent any more men, so it can't be from Blue Moon.

I see how wrong I am when I read the writing on top. Sheldy Weldy. The Saga Continues. I pull the lid off and yell in anger. It's filled with what's left of Clark. I only know it's him because his face, which is torn off, is lying on top of everything else. People come running to see what I'm yelling about.

"How did someone get all the way to the door without being noticed?" I scream at my guards. They all look around in confusion.

"We've been at our stations. No one has driven up to make a delivery." The lead guard says. I know he's too scared of me to lie, so how did it get here?

"Fine. Be prepared tomorrow, we go to Blue Moon. I'll get that little bitch myself. In the meantime, bring any unmated female eighteen or older to my room now." Everyone looks around at each other in shock, and I glare at them. "Do I need to repeat myself?"

Everyone scatters, and I go upstairs to shower. I need blood and screams. Devil had his killing fun; now it's time for me to have my breaking fun. I've never done more than one at a time. I figure I'll let the others watch so they know what's going to happen to them. When I get out of the shower, I don't bother with clothes. What's the point? I'm getting ready to get all bloody again. I expect to see several young women waiting for me when I walk out, but there's no one. Where are my women?

*"I demanded that all women who are unmated be brought to me immediately. Where are they?"* I mindlink the omega who does my bidding.

*"Sir, we're still searching. There don't seem to be any more who are eighteen or older in the pack."* What? Have I killed that many? Well, there's only one option then.

*"Bring me the seventeen-year-olds then."* I mindlink back. Yes, this will be good. They're almost eighteen, so they'll have a woman's body and still be untouched. I can already smell the blood and hear the screams.

*"Sir, are you sure?"* The omega dares to ask me. On second thought, there might not be many that age.

*"Your right it won't be enough. Bring me the sixteen-year-olds, too. My patience is wearing thin. I want them here in ten minutes or less."* I can feel his displeasure, but he knows better than to argue. The first few girls are shoved into my room a few minutes later. They're crying, and I think I can hear their parents yelling somewhere in the packhouse. I stand up and crack my neck. They're perfect.

"So, who wants to be first?"

I shove the last crying girl into the alpha's bedroom and feel sick. I have been doing this for too long and am tired of it. I don't think anyone even knows my name. They just call me omega. Yet they would all know if I was suddenly gone. There are other omegas here, but I seem to be the one Sheldon calls on the most.

I can hear the screams from inside the room, and tears run down my face. Sheldon did the same thing to my daughter two years ago. She had just met her mate from another pack and was on her way out when Sheldon stopped her. He didn't kill her, but he broke her so badly that her mate rejected her, and she killed herself. My mate blamed me for not stopping him. When she ran to Sheldon and tried to stab him, he snapped her neck. He has made me the one to bring him virgins ever since that day.

I've had enough. I feel powerless to do anything as an omega, but I can't do this anymore. I decide to take a chance and leave. If Sheldon or one of his men finds out and kills me, then so be it. Death would be welcome after this nightmare. I only pack a backpack and nothing else. If someone asks where I'm going, I'll tell them Sheldon is sending me out for something. They'll be too scared to question him.

It's late, and I figure it's best to walk down the driveway so if someone sees me, they don't think I'm sneaking around. I get to the end of the driveway and stop. Where should I go? Brent and Tony went to Blue Moon and have been accepted. I wonder if I could be so lucky. I guess it's worth a shot. When I get about a mile down the road, I step into the forest and remove my clothes so I can shift. I'll get there a lot faster as a wolf.

I run most of the night and make it to the Blue Moon pack just before dawn. I shift and put my clothes on before getting all the way to their lands. It's probably best if I try to mindlink Brent and Tony first.

*"Hello, Brent, Tony. Can you hear me?"* I ask weakly. It's strictly forbidden in Devil's Moon for an omega to mindlink anyone that outranks them unless it's an emergency. Well, this is an emergency. Not only do I want out of that pack, I want to warn them that Sheldon is coming today. Maybe that news will allow me to stay. I don't care if they make me the lowest of servants; I just don't want to go back.

*"Who is this?"* Brent asks, but I can feel Tony there as well.

*"Th...this is Craig. An omega from Devil's Moon. I have something important I need to tell the alpha."* I'm stumbling over my words as I speak. What if Dante is just as bad as Sheldon or worse?

*"How do we know you're not here to spy for Sheldon? You could be mindlinking him now. Aren't you the one who gives him the girls he kills? He killed my daughter because of you."* Tony is screaming at me through mindlink, but his daughter was the one I didn't give him. Susie reminded me too much of my daughter. I couldn't hurt her.

*"No, Tony, I swear I didn't give Susie to Sheldon. He saw her walking and took her himself. She reminded me too much of my Dina, who Sheldon broke two years ago. He's moved on to younger girls now. He's killed so many I can't keep count. I can't do this anymore. Whether he kills me or you kill me, I don't care; I'm done. What's left of my spirit is all that brought me here. I would rather die than go back to Sheldon."* I'm almost ready to accept my fate when I don't get a response, but then Brent mindlinks me.

*"Alpha Dante says to come to the packhouse, and he'll meet with you."* I sigh in relief. Hopefully, he'll hear me out. I walk up the long driveway and see wolves on both sides, watching me. They don't growl, but their eyes tell me I better not make one wrong move. When I reach the packhouse, I see Brent and Tony. They each have a woman in their arms. I guess they finally met their mates. Thank goodness Sheldon didn't get a chance to touch them. I also see who I'm suspecting is the alpha and beta standing with two women who look similar to the one next to Tony. I walk up to them slowly and look down at the ground. It's disrespectful for an omega to look a higher-ranked wolf in the eyes.

"You don't need to look down. I want to see your eyes while you tell me why you're here." Dante says. I slowly look up, and rather than seeing the evil I always see on Sheldon's face, I see kindness mixed with concern.

"Thank you for your time, alpha. I am here for two reasons. First, I want to warn you that Sheldon is preparing his men to come here today. Honestly, I don't know what men because he has no more warriors, so I think he'll be bringing the guards and any others he can force to come." Dante nods at me.

"Thank you for the warning. What was the other thing you wanted?" He asks. I notice the woman beside him tilts her head slightly as she studies me. She must be the keeper we've heard so much about. She's beautiful.

"I, uh, I don't want to go back to Devil's Moon. If you allow me to stay here, I would be happy to be the lowest of servants. I would even sleep outside as my wolf. I just can't go back there." I speak the truth as I watch the alpha and luna. They look like they're mindlinking.

"We don't have servants in this pack. We have ranks, but we still treat each person as equals. Our omegas are treated with the same respect as me and my luna. We will let you stay, but if you try to betray us, then you will be killed. I don't give second chances when it comes to the safety of my pack." I can't believe it. Dante is letting me stay.

"Thank you, alpha," I say. I'm almost in tears. It's been a long time since someone has shown me any kindness.

*"Omega, where are you? I need this mess in my room cleaned. We're leaving in an hour, and I would like one more before we go. Get a girl for me now."* I shut off the connection and look back toward the alpha.

"Sheldon is looking for me. He said they plan to leave in an hour." I'm stunned when I see the four couples smile. They certainly don't act like a pack preparing to be attacked. The luna looks at me, and I see her blue eyes shine.

"Good, we'll be ready for him."
