The Waterborn Luna

“As the rushing water takes me downstream, I feel myself slipping into darkness. I manage to grab onto a pointed rock after being hurled about, which cuts my hand. I use all of my strength which I’ve seemed to gather since falling into the river to pull myself to the opposite side I was originally. A sense of relief fills me, and I stay where I am, unable to move. I feel myself starting to slip into an unconscious state. Just before I pass out, I move my head to the right, and see a large pair of eyes, the irises lined in a golden colour, staring at me.” Desperate to find out why she is the last to survive a human ending virus, Aliana DeMuir, sets out to find her purpose in life. After years of searching for somewhere to settle down, she finds friendship which keeps her at bay. The thought of a forever home however keeps playing on her mind, so she heads out once again to find the place her heart yearns for. However, what she doesn't realize, is there's a war coming, and it's coming for her.
