Chapter 118 118
Chapter 118 118
London’s POV
I was conscious that she was sitting very close to me, and she was wound very tightly. And that was not a very good thing with Sandy. She was like a bomb that would go off any time like that.
The classes for the day went on, and she did not say anything to me. She was not exactly a chatterbox, but we spoke most of the time. Random talks. And then she feeds me information about vampires that I was not exactly very interested in, but I listen to anyway.
All the feelings that I have repressed over the years have come rushing to the surface again and this time around, it’s bubbling up like it would explode anytime soon if I don’t do anything to curb it.
She was literally driving me crazy. We’ve been having sex every single day for weeks now, and I can’t even seem to stop it if I wanted to. She was in my head, and that was not a very good thing for me.
My meeting with Kimberly earlier today was not because I wanted to bully her. In all honesty, I was tired of doing all of that. I just wanted to have something different. Clear my head. Something to challenge me, and the last time I raced with her, she had me on my toes. And that’s what I want again this time around. There was no way in hell that I could do this myself.
Every one of my waking and walking moments was filled with Sandy. She was always in my space, and it was not even in this kind of weird way that disturbed me. It was just there. And I can’t seem to bring back the hate I had for her. They say there is a thin line between love and hate. And I feel like if I’m not very careful, I would snap that line and there wouldn’t be anything else to hate.
I’ve started to notice things about her that I did not want to admit to myself. How beautiful she looked, I mean, she’s always been beautiful, there was no denying that. Even when I stayed away from her like a plague, that was like undisputed. But now, after the first time that we had sex, I’ve come to see her in a different light. And I think it was all part of her elaborate plan to drag me into her trap.
I’ve always known how she felt about me. She never hid it away from me, and it was always there and blatant. But I never thought that I would find myself in the same situation. I can’t think of doing anything without having Sandy in on it.
It's worse that she can read my mind. It’s hard to keep my emotions together if she knows what passes through my mind every time. I think she knows how I feel about her, and she capitalizes on that.
She’s obsessed with me.
And God help me, I think I am with her, too.
Maybe it’s always been like that, and mine only had hate masked over it because I couldn’t come around to admitting it.
And I don’t know why it’s easy for me to admit it now. But then, one thing I was sure of was the fact that it could be because she fed me her blood one time like this. The time Julian had beaten me to a pulp, and I did not wake up. Then, I had woken up with a blood stain on my lips and her sitting in the corner of my room, and I knew what had happened. And that was like the beginning of a dilemma.
“Your head is very loud. Keep a lid on it.” I heard her from beside me, and I snapped back to the present.
I looked around, and everyone was standing and carrying their bags. The day had ended. Okay. That was fast. Or maybe I had not concentrated on anything throughout the day.
“Not my fault if you can’t keep your nose out of my business,” I replied lazily. I carried my bag and attempted to leave when I felt her drag my arm.
“I’m coming over to your place tonight.” She said, ignoring what just happened and jumping to another topic entirely. She does that a lot.
“You don’t have to. I’m going back to the house today.” I meant my father’s mansion and not my apartment. I stared at her intently, seeing the way the expression on her face changed. It was very funny to me.
“What? Why is that?” She asked me, with worry flashing across her face and leaving as fast as it came. “What does he want?”
One thing we share and agree on is the mutual hate for my father.
“Don’t know yet. He called. So, I have to answer.”
“I’m coming with you.” She said as a matter of fact.
“No, you’re not,” I said with the same energy. I don’t want him to see us together. He knows her. Her family is prominent. But my father was a manipulative bastard. Who knows what he would do?
“You can’t tell me what to do.” She said, stepping out of the class, and I walked closely behind her.
“Well, this is my business, and you don’t have to get your head in it,” I said with a sting to it. I wanted it to hurt so she would leave me alone. But knowing her, nothing really gets to her.
“Well, this is my own decision.”
We finally got to her car.
“You’re not coming, Sandy. If this is supposed to be because of sex, I can come over to your place later in the night if it’s possible. But you won’t come. And that’s final.” I said with a tone that I feel like she would not be able to disagree with.
She looked at me for a while.
“You know if I want to make you do it, I will.” She said slowly, not breaking eye contact with me.
“And you know what will happen if you compel me. You know how much I hate it. And this shit is ending if you do.” Her eyes widened a fraction, but I caught it. She kept quiet for a while, then, without another word, she got into her car and zoomed off.
Driving recklessly.
I ran my hands through my hair as I walked to my bike. I have no idea why my father would call me to the house. But I knew it was not for a good cause. He needed something. I was sure of that.
By the time I got back to the house, my emotions were heightened, and I was quite nervous, too. The man scared me. Coming from years of abuse, both physically and emotionally.
He was around, which was surprising. I thought I would see him in the evening.
“Young master.” The housekeeper greeted me as soon as I entered the house, and I nodded at her. The house was silent. I’ve not been here for weeks.
“Where is my father?” I asked, feeling my throat get dry at the mention of his name.
In the real sense, I did not display any emotion. My face was cold and impassive. But within me, I was feeling like I would combust if I were left in the same space with the man.
“In his study.” Three simple words, and I knew what to do.
I took the stairs up to the place, and it was like the time when he would ask me to remove all of my clothes and come to his office. I knew what would happen to me those times. I still carry the scars on my body.
I knocked twice when I got to the door and opened it without waiting for him to answer.
“Good day, father.” I greeted him coldly and stood in front of him with my hands behind my back. He was sitting down behind his very large oak table, his glasses notched low on his nose.
“I see you have been busy.” He said. His voice sent chills down my spine. The man was creepy in all the things he did. But I just looked at him without giving anything away. Because if I did, he would feed on that. And I wanted to leave this place as soon as possible. I was thinking about spending the night after, but I knew I wanted to get out of this place.
“You called for me,” I said.
He stood up from his chair and started to walk towards me. His height used to intimidate me when I was younger. But I’m a little taller than him now. But he was huge.
He stood a few feet away from me.
“It’s been set. You will be marrying the daughter of a business associate after school. Your engagement ceremony date has been set. I’ll communicate it to you later.”
And just like that, my whole world tilted around its axis.
