Chapter 103 Chapter 103
Chapter 103 Chapter 103
Aaron's POV
Immediately Mrs Corazon held her chest and passed out on the floor, I rushed out of the house to prevent myself from being seen or accused by anyone.
I wanted to disclose everything with the woman, but the damn woman passed out even before I could start.
My hands pressed lightly on the steering wheel, with the thoughts of Bella escaping me.
Where could she have gone to?
Did she find any evidence to incriminate me?
Lately, I received some information from Sasha that Agatha was actually the one who helped Bella to escape from the hospital, and that was why I had come to visit her, and right in time, her darling Mom happened to be around.
This was not going to be over until I said it's over. Agatha had messed with the wrong person by having the thoughts that she could step on my toes.
I picked up my phone and dialed Bea's line.
“H-Hello...M-Mr Walker?” Her voice came from the receiver.
“Let's start, Bea. I can't wait any longer,” I replied.
“But... Mr Walker... I can't sell the company's shares outside. It's against the rules,” She stuttered with a shivering tone, and I sneered.
“I thought we've talked about this Bea? You know what I'm capable of doing, and your lovely sister can disappear from the earth with just the snap of my fingers.”
“No, Sir!”
“Remember, I took her from her school... I could have easily gotten rid of her, but I gave her another chance. How do you see that, Bea?” I muttered as a grin crept up on my face.
“Don't...I will do anything you ask for, and...”
“Then get me the fucking shares! You have all the data and basis! Don't make me get angry, Bea!” I snapped at her over the phone.
“Y-Yes, Sir... I will try my best,”
“Don't just try your best! I need active results!”
“Y-Yes, Mr Walker...”
Shit.
I didn't hesitate to hang up as I ignited the engine and drove away speedily.
Suddenly, my phone started to ring, and it was a call from one of my boys.
“Any news?” I asked after I inserted my ear-pod, my eyes still on the road.
“We couldn't find her in time, Boss. With the active checkpoints, Bella has been confirmed to have travelled out of the country.” He said.
Shock refused to stop wracking down my spine as I screeched to a stop beside the road. “What?”
“I'm sorry, but we did our best to find and stop her, Mr Walker, but we were too late. A man actually booked her a flight and drove her to the airport, according to the info we've gathered from the checkpoints.” He said again.
“A man? Stop apologizing for your incompetency, and tell me who the hell is the man that booked her flight?!” I snapped at him, anger surging through me.
Bella has been cheating on me?
She had always had a sideman to fend for her... Perhaps that was why she was trying to sell my properties. For her and her incompetent man.
goddammit.
“Mr Landon Sloan, Boss.”
My jaw fell open, astounded. “Mr Landon?”
“Yes, Boss. This is the correct info we got. It doesn't only look like he helped her out, but it also seems like she had been in his shelter during the time of her absence at your-”
The conversation was cut short as I hung up, and resumed my drive. Throughout the ride, I tended to focus, but I was blank as the thoughts of Bella finally leaving the country with our unborn child clutched me hard.
Why was I feeling this way?
I should be happy that she had made my plans easy for me by leaving the country. I should be happy that she wouldn't be a pain anymore in the ass for me.
But Mr Landon... That only meant that Agatha really took her in. That bitch kept her and sheltered her while I was searching the nooks and crannies of the city, and now she had to escape from my wrath.
She fucking ran away with our baby.. I cursed inwardly. That was a mistake... I clearly didn't have a baby with her. That was a pure mistake.
“Dammit,”
Soon, I pulled to a halt in front of my house, and the next thing I did was to scurry in and head for the cellar to get a bottle of whiskey. I ignored the maids and kept drinking to a stupor until I had enough.
“What are you doing?” I heard a familiar voice and footsteps approaching my direction from behind.
Sasha.
I turned to her with drowsy eyes, and even though my vision wasn't so blurry, I could hardly see her.
“I should be asking you that... What do you want?” I retorted with a question, and she smiled.
“You look wasted with those empty bottles you've had. Mind if I help you?” She asked.
I scoffed. “She left...” I swallowed the lump in my throat, and continued. “She fucking left.”
I saw Sasha's brows creased as she splayed her arms. “What does she have to do with you? She left, and she only made our plans easy. You should be thankful that she didn't get any evidence to pin on you.” Sasha replied.
“Yes, she didn't have any evidence to pin on me, but again, she left. She shouldn't have left!” I smashed the bottle in my hold before I could stop myself.
“What has come over you, Aaron? Since when did you start getting hurt that she would be no more?” I heard Sasha's voice, but I ignored her, and started heading for my room.
“I'm asking a question, don't ignore me!”
“I owe you no explanation, Sasha. Let me be!”
“So you're not going to listen to whatever I have to say?”
“I don't have to. Let's shift this discussion until tomorrow, Sasha. Goodnight.”
I groaned after I was woken up by a strong migraine, which caused me to stay up all night until morning.
Dressed for activities, a sharp thought of visiting Eric struck me. We hadn't met, and I was sure he wasn't aware that I was out of prison for quite some time.
“Tell the maids to clean this place up, Sasha.” I ordered as I stood up and left the dinning room that morning.
“Where are you going?” She countered.
Angrily, I halted in tracks and turned to her. “What's with the questions? Don't forget, you are in my house, so I get to do what I want!”
“Yes, I'm aware of that. But I'm just worried about you and your safety. Don't be too sure that the police aren't on your trails with how carelessly you've been going out lately.” She replied.
“What do you expect me to do? Sit and watch the TV all day?”
“You don't...”
“That's it, Sasha. I've heard enough of you, and if you can't stand it anymore, then you can make use of the door. I have other important things to fix.” I rebutted, and walked away without another thought.
Has anyone mentioned that being in prison makes one to look unhealthy? I guessed not because Eric was the opposite of what I'd expected.
He looked more handsome, and had grown little beards on his jawline, he looked like the healthiest person in there, and I wouldn't deny the fact that it was beyond my expectations.
Seriously, were the corps favoring him because he was a Sloan?
“If I had known you were the one who's come to visit me, I wouldn't have shown up.” He said when he got to our table.
I cleared my throat with a chuckle. “I know you wouldn't show up, that's why I kept it a secret.” I replied.
“Um... So, why are you here? To mock? Laugh? Or what?” He retorted.
“Jeez, relax. Where should I begin from?” I grinned knowingly, and he scoffed. “You didn't tell me you were receiving favours from the corps while in here, Eric. You've grown more than I had seen you last time.” I said with a pretentious smile.
“You wish. If you're here to beat around the bush, then I might leave because I'm not in for your silly play...” He made to stand up and leave when I said again.
“I wasn't beating around the bush.”
“Don't you want to hear what has been happening to your company?” I added. At the mention of company, he gawked at me with a new expression.
“What do you mean?”
“Glad I have your attention again. So the thing is that...” I trailed off, staring at him intently. Fuck, I didn't miss the look of curiosity on his face.
I got Eric Sloan wrapped around my fingers.
“I've always known you were mischievous, but I never expected it to get to this level of trailing off, Aaron. What the fuck do you have to say?”
“I don't know. Why don't you ask your sister about it?” With that being said, it was my turn to stand up and then I left... I left without glancing back at him.
A smirk lingered on my lips victoriously. I've got him where I wanted, and I knew how restless he would be, knowing the little hint I've given him about his company was far from good.
