I clapped mockingly and laughed at the tops of my voice before snapping at him, “Fanny Luis, you are more horrible than failure. That is my bargaining power, your naughty daughter couldn’t sell your cars at their worth. I bargained and bought them at my price and you show your ugly face here demanding for a refund, uh?”
Melissa rolled her eyes at me and nagged, “I never knew the young man that came to buy it was one of your securities. There he is.” she pointed at one of my security personnel.
My jaw sagged as I shot a menacing stare at Melissa and then at Fanny Luis, “Come to think of it are you so broke that you now sell your properties. Lisa Bake’s medical bills are half a million dollars. Isn’t it shameful that a whole Fanny Luis, the richest man in Rio Hondo can’t afford half a million dollars, uh?”
He shut his eyes briefly and lowered his gaze in shame before his lips curled in peril, “If you hadn’t sealed my company and retrieved the oil and gas contract I wouldn’t be here demanding for a refund over my cars you cheaply bought…”
“Keep shut you poverty-stricken, old fool!” I cursed and caught the pitiable looks on the face of Melissa who had already started shedding tears. “Your company, the Fanny Group had already gone bankrupt before I retrieved the contract.” I advanced forward to Fanny Luis, “I don’t know what you want from me Fanny Luis. If I could remember the last time I checked I was your divorced son-in-law. You, your daughter and your cancer-eaten Lisa Bake wrote me off and rejected me.”
Fanny Luis interposed me, “Please the world richest man. I have not come so you could recall my short comings. You have what belongs to me. My cars are not worth two hundred thousand dollars. If you can buy them at the exact price, I wouldn’t have to pester you with Lisa’s medical bills as a matter of fact we would have enough to survive with..”
Through clenched teeth and dimmed eyes I sounded, “Okay, fine, I don’t need your cars anymore.” I opened my palms, “Refund my two hundred thousand dollars and I will return your cars this minute.”
Fanny Luis lowered his gaze bit his lower lip and began to fondle with his fingers. Melissa did same and fondled with the hem of her dress. For a moment a hush of silence hung over us as my palms remained open and stretched out.
“Heh Fanny Luis,” I snapped, “Didn’t you hear my demand? Get me my two hundred thousand and I will return your cars to you!”
Fanny didn’t seem like one that would raise his gaze any moment. He lowered his gaze as though he was searching for something on the ground. His lips couldn’t stop trembling within his jaw.
Melissa spoke on his behalf, “The truth is that we have exhausted every penny on us, my sweetie…”
Hastily I interposed her, “May thunder strike that mouth you used to call me sweetie! I don’t need any emotional entanglement form you anymore! I know you have been reading the news. You have seen what I am up to. Whenever you want to speak go straight to the point and don’t call me pet names. You would leave me with no option than to order my security to bundle you out of this premises if you should ever call me sweetie! Sweetie my ass!” I barked.
She molded her arms and bowed , “Apologies, Brian Patrick, or better put Mike Don. I would never call you my sweetie any more…”
Fanny Luis interrupted her, “Please don’t pick offense the world richest man. She never intended to call you pet names. All she is trying to say is that we have spent every dime on us. Lisa Bake’s medical bills have sucked the last cent on us…”
I interjected by stamping my feet on the ground, “How the hell is it my business, uh” Fanny Luis! You have come to take back your cars and I am demanding you refund me. It is mere two hundred thousand dollars. The shoe on my feet is worth one million dollars, so that is supposed to be a chicken feed to you…”
Fanny cast a stare upon my feet to behold my oxford before he said, “I was coming to that, the world richest man. Since we don’t have any dime on us, there may not be need for a refund. Yes, all you need do is give us more money that measure up to the worth of the cars and we will be gone.”
“I pointed at my head, “You have gone naught, Fanny. Are you this dumb, uh? You were once a billionaire but right now you are thinking like a pauper who would never be rich again and I know you can never be rich again. I don’t want your cheap cars anymore. All I want is my money.” I pointed at the fleet of cars at the garage, “There are your cars.” I opened my palms once again, “Give me my money.”
Like a kid Melissa broke down in tears while Fanny sobbed quietly by the corner, “We can’t afford that amount right now, the world richest man. You can keep the cars, but please help us with granny’s medical bills. She is dying…” she was interrupted by her sobbing as tears surged down her cheeks.
I sighed put on my sunshades and about to turn to have a walk, Melissa scuttled hastily to my side, grabbed my feet and lamented.
“Please Brian Patrick,” she sounded more informal and wet my trousers and shoes with her warm tears, “My granny needs your help. Let go of what we did to you. Forgive us. I know we are bunch of ass. We don’t deserve your favor, but please find a place in your heart and give us a second chance to enjoy your kind gesture. Please you are our last hope…”
I hissed, pulled my leg off her grip and walked into the elevator, “I don’t forgive. I revenge!” I groaned.
“Please Brian Patrick…!” she wept and fell on the ground…
