Chapter 45

Chapter 45

"Yeah, I know."

About him loving me—even if Michael didn't say it, I'd know.

I knew it from my past life.

I really treasure this chance to start over. At least it allows me to respond to someone who truly loves me.

In the morning, what woke me before the sunlight was Michael's warm embrace.

I groggily opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was Michael's eyes.

He held me in his arms, staring at me without blinking, like he'd been awake for a while.

Seeing I was awake, he carefully brushed the hair from my forehead and asked gently, "You're up? Did you sleep well?"

Honestly, this night sleeping in Michael's arms was the most peaceful sleep I'd had since coming to the Johnson Villa.

Maybe it was because he was beside me that I felt that long-lost sense of security.

I snuggled closer into his embrace, unconsciously acting cute. "Yeah. I slept well."

Feeling my initiative, Michael seemed slightly dazed, then chuckled softly. "Nancy, you're so adorable."

As he spoke, his warm breath brushed past my ear, sending a tingling sensation through me.

I turned on my side to look at him, couldn't help reaching out to touch his chest, my voice getting softer. "Really?"

I slowly moved closer to his face, looking at his lightly pressed thin lips, my breathing catching for a second. "Michael."

Michael pulled me into his arms and cupped my face with both hands.

His lashes were thick and long, his deep eyes holding a unique tenderness, as if in this moment, he belonged only to me.

Michael's gaze was somewhat hazy as he leaned closer, using his prominent nose to nuzzle against mine, rubbing slowly.

This unique intimacy made my body go weak.

"Nancy, can I kiss you?"

Sunlight streamed in from the window, falling on Michael's face.

He spoke in a low voice, his dark gaze uncontrollably falling on my lips.

"Close your eyes. I'm going to kiss you now."

I obediently closed my eyes.

The next second, I felt my lips being captured by his, moist lips rubbing against my mouth.

In just a moment, I instinctively parted my lips, feeling his uniquely hot breath.

The back of my head was gently cradled by him, his palm broad and large, steadily holding me, guiding me to respond to him.

His soft tongue slipped in, licked around my mouth, then reluctantly left my lips.

The sweetness of living with Michael almost completely enveloped and drowned me.

My face was completely flushed, but he appropriately ended the kiss. "It's getting late. I'll go make you breakfast."

Michael's expression was normal, as if nothing had just happened.

Though I felt a bit reluctant, I didn't try to keep him.

Michael went downstairs to prepare breakfast while I got up to wash up.

We were just like a normal married couple.

Being with him more and more made me feel that marriage wasn't a bad thing.

When I finished washing up and came downstairs, Michael was still busy in the kitchen wearing an apron.

Hearing my footsteps, Michael looked back at me. "Nancy, have a seat. Breakfast will be ready soon."

I sat down on the sofa, planning to check my phone for a bit.

As soon as I unlocked my phone, a bunch of messages popped up.

And these messages were all from the same person.

I hadn't expected John to be so persistent.

Even after I'd rejected him countless times, he kept sending me harassing texts.

Looking at the same old lines, I just felt annoyed.

I wasn't planning to reply to John.

The best way to deal with someone like him was to not respond.

Otherwise, knowing John's narcissistic personality, he'd definitely think I was playing hard to get.

I didn't want to bring unnecessary trouble on myself.

With a cold expression, I was about to delete all these junk messages.

"What's this? He's bothering you again?" Michael suddenly hugged me from behind, pressing against my back, reaching out to brush aside my loose hair, then bit my neck as if punishing me.

I openly handed my phone to Michael, explaining, "He's harassing me. I didn't reply and don't plan to."

Michael's voice carried accusation as he spoke with dissatisfaction. "Why won't he leave you alone?"

As he spoke, he held me even tighter, as if only this way would I truly belong to him.

I turned around and actively burrowed into his embrace. "I have nothing to do with him. No matter how many times, the person I choose will only be you."

I raised my hand to hook around his neck, my soft chest pressing directly against him.

Michael's Adam's apple moved slightly, his eyes gradually deepening.

"Michael..." I leaned on his shoulder and actively kissed his lips.

Michael was a bit jealous and deliberately pulled back a little, making my kiss miss.

Looking at my pink lips, his heart stirred.

I looked into his eyes, my gaze full of tender affection.

I directly cupped his face, not letting him retreat again, and kissed him once more.

Our tongues touched, and he moved first, licking my tongue back and forth.

I felt like an electric current passed through me, the stimulation making my lips tingle.

Michael's breathing gradually grew heavier as he flipped over and pressed me down on the sofa.

One of Michael's hands supported me while the other explored forward, caressing the soft flesh on my chest through my clothes.

He deliberately pushed my soft mounds together toward the center.

Two fingers simultaneously rubbed both nipples through the fabric.

I felt like my whole body was on fire, my body trembling uncontrollably.

He pressed me completely beneath him, and I could even feel his hardness pressing between my legs through our clothes.

Even with clothes as a barrier, I could still feel that scorching heat.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

Both Michael and I froze at the same time, our bodies stiffening involuntarily.

"Michael... someone's at the door." I twisted my body, pushing him away trying to sit up.

But Michael had no intention of stopping, directly pressing me back down on the sofa, speaking in a hoarse voice. "Ignore it. Let's continue."

Michael's hands were on my waist, his whole face buried in my collarbone.

I couldn't help gasping, still pushing him with my hands.

"We can't... what if it's your parents."

What little reason I had left told me we couldn't continue.

Michael ignored me, even pressing me tighter with more force, his burning lips wandering on my skin, his breath spilling entirely on my neck.

I felt my whole body going soft from his kisses.

Michael panted against me, the nasal tone in his breathing even heavier than before.

Without giving me a chance to react, his hand slipped in from under my hem.

His fingertips played freely with the cherries on my chest.

Waves of tingling came from my chest, my body going soft.

I bit my lower lip, trying as hard as possible to control myself from making strange sounds. "That's enough, Michael. We can't mess around anymore."

The doorbell kept ringing, even becoming more urgent.

Michael's next move was also forced to stop by this urgent ringing.
