Chapter 87 Where did she go?
THIRD PERSON'S POV
“Are you sure this is a good decision? It's not long since I returned. I am a bit jittery,” Felicia commented as she saw the car nearing the council chambers where they had arrived for the annual celebration.
Dylan didn't say anything; he just kept looking out the window.
He didn't want to come to the celebration either. Such useless parties with no motive were not his thing, but for some reason, he hoped that when Ronaldo arrived, he would bring Angelica with him.
After all, the girl knew they were werewolves, and she was no longer human.
His heart skipped a beat just at the thought of seeing her again.
They knew Angelica left in a fit of anger, but they hadn't thought she would leave picking up their calls. Because Ericson was still angry, he forbade him from calling Ronaldo to talk to her.
He said she was just throwing a tantrum and wanted them to beg her to return. And as alphas, they shouldn't let her have that kind of power over them.
Those words sounded a bit wrong to him. Though they were alphas, they were her mates, too.
He knew Angelica was inwrong when she targeted Felicia like that, but Ericsson crossed a line when he raised his hand at her.
Dylan sighed.
“Everything would be fine. Don't worry. I won't let anyone harm you,” Ericson grabbed Felicia's hand between his before kissing the back of it.
Zishan, who was driving the car, looked at the interaction from the rearview mirror and couldn't help but purse his lips.
Maybe the rumors going inside the pack were indeed true. Something was definitely wrong with their alphas.
They knew and saw their relationship with Felicia before, too. She was their sister, but now their actions were turning to that of a lover, an obsessed lover, and everyone could sense it.
They agreed that the alphas wanted to make up for the past, but was acting like this going to make things right?
What about their Luna Angelica? Last time she had left, the alphas had gone crazy looking for her, but this time it was almost as if her absence didn't bother them at all.
And that was definitely alarming. For a mate not to worry about his mate wasn't something appreciative.
Everyone in the pack, especially in the close circle of the Alphas, was starting to get worried about them.
It wasn't just duties; they were withdrawing from others, too. Something like this had never happened and was really uncalled for.
It was almost as if Felicia could read his thoughts; she immediately looked up, catching the man off guard.
Caught staring, Zishan lost his control for a second and swayed the car to the left.
“What's the matter? Are you incapable of driving properly now?” Ericson immediately raised his voice.
“I am sorry, Alpha. There was an animal. I'll drive more carefully,” Zishan said and swallowed hard.
He didn't know if he was just imagining, but it almost looked like he saw Felicia smirking in the mirror before she looked at Dylan.
“Why are you so irritated, Ericson? He didn't do it purposefully. He is about beta. Stop acting like you hired a driver,” Dylan commented, and Ericson scoffed in return.
“Your softness is going to cost us something big one day,” He said.
Dylan wanted to rebuke, but he thought against it immediately when Felicia placed her hand on his shoulders.
“Let's not fight over something so trivial,” She said, and Dylan nodded, his head bobbing up and down on its own, almost as if his body had a mind of its own.
It surprised him, and though his brows furrowed, he didn't say anything.
“We are here, sir,” Zishan said meekly before stopping the car, getting out, and opening the door for his alphas one by one.
Ericson stepped out before turning to hold his hand out for Felicia.
The council head, who heard the alphas of the Blood Martial Pack were there, walked out, his stance confident before he bowed to them.
“Alpha Ericson, Alpha Dylan, Miss Felicia,” the council head said, and the council members who accompanied him followed suit.
“Call her Luna Felicia,” Ericson commented.
Everyone around froze for a second.
“If we are the Alphas, she is our sister and naturally should be called Luna, right?” Ericson reasoned.
The council head smiled and nodded.
“Pardon my mistake, sir. Please come inside." he said apologetically.
As soon as they did, he looked at Alpha Dylan.
“Do you have something to say?” Dylan didn't waste a second in recognizing the discomfort.
“Yes, sir. I should talk to you and Alpha Ericson alone,” he said.
Dylan looked at Ericson, who was attending to their sister, taking her to the food court, since the celebration had already started.
“You can tell me what it is,” Dylan said.
Though he was talking to the council head, his gaze kept drifting around as he looked for that one woman who stole his heart in that club, whom he was apologetic to because she failed to keep his promise of taking care of her forever.
“Sir, it's about a rogue attack that is being planned on your pack. Alpha Tyler gave us the tip. Here is the file,” the council head said and immediately gave him the file.
Dylan read through the report, and the more he read, the angrier he became.
Not only were they planning to attack the pack, but they were also conspiring with humans to take Angelica away?
How dare they?! Dylan's wolf stood furiously.
“This has to be some kind of joke. You got this report, and you are telling this only now.” Dylan raised his voice.
The chattering around the hall stopped immediately, and Ericsson turned to his brother. Without a delay, he walked to his brother.
“What's wrong, brother?” Ericson asked.
Dylan gave the file to his brother and was about to speak when he saw Ronaldo walking with his wife, Marlyn.
He immediately walked to where they were standing, his heart beating fast, wanting to see Angelica now more than ever after reading that report.
“It appears she didn't come with you? Why? You still don't want to expose her to the world she should be accustomed to?” Dylan asked Ronaldo.
The man narrowed his eyes.
“What are you talking about, Alpha Dylan?” Ronaldo asked.
“Alpha Dylan, how is my—” Marlyn started, but was interrupted by Ericson walking to them.
“They want to attack our pack and give Angelica to that Jarvin Morocco?” Ericson asked, furious with Angelica for the first time since she had left.
Jarvin Morocco? The name shocked Marlyn and Ronaldo immediately.
As far as they saw on the news, wasn't the man dead? That to be in a very peculiar and inhuman way? So what was this all about?
“Where is she? I know she is most afraid of this name. I want to tell her nothing would happen to her as long as I am alive." Dylan held Marlyn’s hand, an urgency in his eyes that surprised Angelica's parents.
“Why are you asking us that? Don't you know where she is? And since we are on the subject, could you explain why you didn't bring her to the celebration? This was an awesome opportunity to announce the rescheduling of your marriage with your mate,” Marlyn said.
Ericson furrowed his brows. He looked at his brother, who had a little panicked expression now.
“I think there's a misunderstanding. Didn't Angelica go to your place a few days ago?” Dylan asked to confirm.
Marlyn immediately sensed something was wrong. Her motherly instincts kicked in, and she stepped forward, looking straight into Dylan's eyes.
“What nonsense are you spouting, Alpha Dylan? She never came to our house. In fact, she hasn't been answering her calls. We thought she was just taking her time adjusting to the new member in her family. But you don't even know where she is? Where is my daughter, Alpha Dylan?” Marlyn asked.
Dylan stumbled back at the realization, his lips trembling as his wolf roared in pain.
Angelica never turned to her parents after leaving the pack. If she wasn't with them, where was she? And with this attack scheduled…
“I need to find her. It's all my fault. I should've never raised my hand on her,” Ericson shook his head as the severity of the matter dawned upon him.
“We both should,” Dylan whispered.
They were about to leave when Felicia stopped them.
“I thought you guys said she was just throwing a tantrum. If you go and search for her, won't it be like giving in to what she wants you guys to do? She is a human; must she act so unreasonably? It's pathetic,” Felicia said.
Her words immediately made Ericson pause and look at her.
“You are right. She is doing this only for attention. I keep forgetting that,” Ericson said.
Dylan looked at his brother, who changed his mind so quickly and didn't know what to say. He wanted to go and look for his mate, but it was as if his body was forbidding him to listen to his own command. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't move.
“How dare you spout such nonsense? Her mother is standing right here,” Marlyn asked with a raised voice.
“I am sorry, Mrs. Marlyn, but you should've taught her well,” Felicia said, blinking her eyes innocently.
Marlyn looked at Ronaldo, who was just standing there, looking at Felicia as if she could do nothing wrong. She shook her head.
Impossible. How could he act like that and not defend his mate and wife? Maybe her daughter was right. Something was definitely wrong with this girl. And she needed to find it soon, but before that, she needed to find her daughter.
