Chapter 28

I took a bath after Sabrina left, This is all so much to process. I only started this journey so that I could help save my father. Possibly my whole family. Now I know so many things about my family that I could have never imagined to start with. I don’t know what to do and I feel so lost. I missed my brother. I wish I could talk to him about all this to try and understand it. Or even one of my old teachers. I washed up and got all the dirt and blood off of me and got out of the bath. One of the maids had come in and dropped off a pair of leggings and a long sleeve shirt. I got dressed and laid on the bed for a moment before I grabbed my crystal to catch up with Aster. 

**Neero’s POV** 

I finished cleaning up in mine and Sabrina’s room and got changed. Then I started walking to my office and ran into Sabrina in the hall. “And what is the verdict on the bedroom?” I asked. She smiled so big I thought it might never go away. “She has magic indeed and her room is beautiful!” She sounded so happy. It’s been a while since we have had any newcomers and our population since retreating to ourselves is not what it once was. “We will have to set some training up for her and try some things, ultimately if she has our blood she needs to be eased into this. She’s already had a lot thrown at her already and her first priority is her family. Try not to bring it up too much so she has time to process.” I said. I didn’t want her to reject her ancestors because she felt she was forced into it or didn’t have another choice. Sabrina nodded and walked with me to my office. 

We were almost to my office when we heard talking just around the corner so we slowed down to try and see who it was. “What are you talking about Gray? All of those wolves including the one in human form were talking. I was just talking back.” I’m sure that’s immyria and Gray given the conversation. Then the voices continued, “Princess, the only one talking was the one in human form. Wolves don’t talk. They can’t.” Gray said. “Keep this to yourself for now, I’ll figure it out somehow. I don’t know how but… Look I heard Neero in my head and that’s how I knew where he was when we needed him. Now you’re telling me that only one person was talking when I was clearly talking to more than one and I don’t know what to think.” The princess finished and sounded really frustrated. Sabrina and I continued to walk to my office.

“Do you remember that book about the high royals and their abilities, Sabs? Do you remember where we left it?” I asked my mate in my head. She stayed quiet as well but responded through our mind connection, “I think I remember, it’s in the underground library. I’ll get it after our meeting with them in our office.” She replied. “You don’t think with the ability to hear 2 different races she could be-” I cut her off because I could hear the princess and Gray coming through the door. “I don’t know but we need to consider all options at this point. We’ll go through it tonight.” I told her, then welcomed in Immyria and Gray and motioned for them to sit on the couch inside my office next to my desk. I keep my office relatively small for comfort. I don’t want one that echos when people talk and something that is easy to have people close together.

My mate spoke as soon as they sat down, “How was the second healing session, Gray?” She asked him. He sounded much better after getting the second one. “It feels much better and doesn’t hurt as much. The healers said I would need about two to three more treatments before they would allow me to leave.” Gray finished with amusement in his voice towards the end. Immyria was the next to speak, “Thanks again for helping him. For helping us both. I don’t like to admit when I need help but we both needed it.” She finished and I started talking, “Of course. We’ve been trying to hunt down that pack and capture them for over a month now. They moved into that area of the forest and have been killing all the local life. But everytime we think we have them they just disappear again and pop up in a different area.” I finished and they all nodded their heads.

“You wanted us to meet here after getting cleaned up, Neero?” Immyria asked. I nodded and started, “I asked you both to come here to make sure we’ve talked about everything and make sure we are all on the same page.” Everyone nodded. “Now with everyone caught up about the kingdoms, the poison you spoke about, I’ve heard about it before. Cases like that are starting to pop up all over the realm. We’ve been able to get samples of blood from the dead victims, queen Aster is right though. Half the poison is not a part of this realm. What is from our realm are multiple types of venom from reptiles. What is not is the plant half. We do not know what type of plant this is but we do know what realm it comes from. It’s the same realm we believe my nephew is currently in.” I stopped there for a moment. Though we’ve known for a long time which realm he was taken to, there’s millions of people to sift through and we haven’t been able to figure out much to be able to find him. I continued, “While we know where he is, we can’t find him in it. It’s as big as our world but millions more people. We;ve had a portal open for some of our spies to go through and get to know this world and try to find him. The problem is, magic doesn’t work there. Once you cross the barrier all abilities are gone. And none of the people we have sent though have been able to lessen the area search either.”

My mate felt the pain of my missing nephew so she continued, “We have a relative idea of what he should look like, but there are so many people who look similar. And without magic we can’t track him using Neero’s blood. This world is very different from ours, and the people are exceptionally different and not at all friendly.” I let out a sigh once she finished. Even I tried to find him for almost a year and I had no luck. Immyria looked at me directly. “This is where your part of the deal comes in isn’t it? You can get me to where I need to go but in exchange you need my help to find your nephew.” I nodded and said, “Maybe the witch queen can help you with that?”
