Chapter 45: Chosen Power

Dolores and Ellie walk into the Great Hall, brushing past females with nothing more than a thin piece of fabric hanging over their breast and a small patch covering the place between their thighs, held together with silver string wrapped around their middle and between their ass cheeks.

Stepping over discarded food that any of the starving Pack members in the village would kill to eat, Dolores and Ellie walked through the center of the Hall, holding their heads high and their shoulders pinned back. Dolores's blue-tinted dress hugged her curves, and the skirt slit ran up her leg, revealing her dagger lay around her sculpted thigh.

Dolores's hair flowed down her back and one side of her head, allowing the opposite side of her face to show her fine striking features. Her dress dipped into a low V but left unwanted eyes guessing what lay beneath her garment. She looked like the moon goddess herself.

Ellie followed her lead, mirroring her with an amber gown that flowed where Dolores's dress clung, hiding her youngling figure. The guest gawked as the two Princess walked past them, some males even pushing the females draped over them to the ground. Dolores heard a male ask who they were, and her blood began to boil when she realized many if not all knew who they were.

Stopping short of the obese Alpha, Dolores watched as his tiny eyes widened, dropping the turkey leg from his mouth. Dolores knew he never thought a once rogue would actually look like an eligible Princess of Kreqin. The corner of Dolores's mouth kicks up, and the Alpha quickly hinds his shock with drunken anger.

"How can you get here without an invitation!" He angrily hiccups, taking another gulp of the putrid liquid in his goblet.

"Ah, so you did, deliberately not invite me." Dolores quipped. "And here I thought the invitation was lost like the King's orders." Dolores narrowed her eyes at her once Alpha, her tone becoming majestic and full of power. "How dare you not invite me. As if I would need an invitation. I am Princess Dolores. I do not answer to the likes of you."

Dolores raised her chin as the once Alpha Jack fell back into the chair behind him, his repulsing body shaking with fear and confusion coating his eyes, and Dolores saw his aura turn from blue to yellow as her blood danced to power vibrating through her.

Dolores stood still, listening as the stunned guest began to question her status.

"The Princess? Princess Dolores?" A male asked

"The Dolores, that was a rogue and became a Princess?" another question.

"She can't be." stated a barely dressed female.

Dolores turned her sights on the harlot, and the female cowered under Dolores' stare. The crowd stirred as the truth of Dolores' identity was finally revealed.

I...did...not.." Jack stammered. "...mean to not send you an invitation, Princess Dolores. My Beta must have forgotten. Please, please sit!"

"And what of my sister Princess Ellie?"

"Yes, yes, Princess Ellie, what a beautiful lady...please come sit." He quickly added, clapping his swollen hands for a maid. "Pour wine for Princesses!"

Dolores and Ellie sat but refused to drink the wine poured for them. Neither was fool enough to believe the wine wasn't drugged or even poisoned. Dolores lifted her glass to Jack, a silent gesture to carry on with his gathering. Clumsily he ordered the musicians to begin playing and pushed the female entertainment out onto the floor to dance and flirt with the males.

A sweaty finger glided down Dolores's bare arm, and she turned to see Colin Miller seated next to her. The Beta's son and one of her childhood tormentors. He flicks his eyebrows up and down, and Dolores uses all her willpower not to toss the untrustworthy wine in his face.

"To think that the ugly duckling would become such a beautiful swan." Colin mused. "You really do look like a Princess now, Dolores." He swept two of his fingers back and forth along her arm as he slowly spoke: "A ravishing Princess. I must have a dance with you.."

"Looks like a Princess...now? I was born a Princess!" Dolores snapped.

Colin halted his unwanted touches, stunned by Dolores's cold authority. "Uh, yes, yes, a princess—"

"You wish to dance with me?"

"Yes, please." Colin eagerly answers, stumbling as he stands from his seat.

"Look at you!" Dolores sneers. "You reek of alcohol and have lipstick stains on the collar of your tunic. You don't deserve a dance with me. Go dance with the maids!" Dolores shouts, loud enough for the guest to hear.

Shame painted Colin's face as the entity of the gathering looked at him. Dolores smirks as Colin backs away slowly. A deafening roar fills the Hall as Jack yells his irritation.

"How dare you!"

Dolores stands facing the so-called Alpha of the Grey Tail Pack. "How dare I? How dare you shout at me!"

Whatever lingering fear that had remained within Dolores faded as the pompous Alpha flared his nostrils at her, the crowd around them narrowing their eyes. Lava coated her veins and her chosen power, the power of her bloodline sang through her.

"I can have you imprisoned by just the disrespect you have shown me, a member of the Royal Family," She proclaimed, her tone an icy blade. "but you have committed worse crimes than that. You have used the Pack's money and power for your own personal enjoyment. No patrols! No care for the pups that run the streets of your village! Only feasts and more feasts—you do not deserve to be the Alpha of this Pack! So in the name of Dolores Razamas, I declare that you and your Beta will be stripped of your titles and become nothing more than Omega!"

The Hall shook with Dolores decree, and the sky outside cracked with the sound of Dragon thunder. The no longer Alpha Jack opened his beefy mouth to protest but could not speak. The transfer of power had begun, and Dolores watched as he realized he was no longer the Grey Tail Pack Alpha.

Dolores said nothing as she turned from the crying swine of a male and left the Great Hall with Ellie on her heels. Ellie squealed her delight the second they exited the banquet.

"Oh. My. Goddess!" You were like a Queen!" Ellie squeaked, practically jumping up and down beside Dolores.

Dolores blushed. Her legs began to go weak as the fear drowned out by anger flooded back.

"You did wonderful, my sweet. Now get home so I can show exactly how proud I am of you." Jasper's muted words were dipping with wicked amusement in her head.

"I guess this means you're the Grey Tail Pack's new Alpha Lo." Ellie casually says as they walk back to their manor. "Who are you going to make your Beta?"

Dolores bits at the thumbnail. "I guess I'll make Brock the Beta. He is the leader of the Silent Maw Pack survivors."

"I think that is a wise decision, Lo. You can learn and gain experience running a Pack here, but you won't always be the Alpha to this small Pack. Where Ellie can grow and learn beside you, since she is a Princess, she can take your place one day, gaining her own power." Jasper silently states within Dolores's mind.

"I think that's a great pick!" Ellie unknowingly interrupts Jasper, spinning in the muddy street, not caring about the speckles of mud now on her dress. "He will also know the best ways to set up a patrol around the borders."

"Yes, and he and the other Silent Maw survivors already have a relationship with some of the pups roaming the Pack. They can begin training them all and any other willing wolves." Dolores answered, surprising even herself how easily her commands came. "They Pack will probably be reluctant since they still see me as a rogue..."

"Not after tonight they won't!" Ellie exclaimed. "They may still be reluctant, but no one will dare call you a rogue ever again."

Dolores forced a laugh. "If only that were true."

"It is!" Ellie demanded. "You didn't see what I saw, what everyone saw and felt. There isn't a wolf in that Hall that doesn't recognize your power!"

Dolores linked her arm through her younger sisters, bringing her close, saying nothing as they made their way out of the village to their isolated manor. Her mother had a candle burning in the front windows, and Dolores felt the pleasant feeling of coming home.

Ellie unlinked their arms and dashed to the front door, their two quiet escorts following after her. Dolores shook her head at her rambunctious younger sister. With her hand on the doorknob, Dolores closed her eyes.

"But if Ellie becomes Alpha here, then where will I go if I am not Alpha?" Dolores wordlessly questioned. "Back to the Wizard Society with you?"

Jasper's devilish smile flashed in her mind's eye. "As pleasing as that sounds, my sweet, You will become the Alpha Queen of the Kreqin Werewolf Kingdom."
