Chapter 32
The day that we had been planning, excited and so anxious for had finally arrived. It was our wedding day and I was so anxious and nervous. We were getting dressed at my parent's house since tradition was that the groom should not see the bride before the wedding.
Kim being my made of honour, took it as her job to help me get dressed. My hair was already fixed in an elegant updo adorned with little silver hair jewels and my makeup was a natural light look. Kim practically put on every piece of clothing including the dress on me. She was the one who slipped in the pair of dangling earrings in my ear and put on my necklace. Chrissy was the sweetest angel who decided to help me with my shoes.
In order to capture the memory, I had agreed on having the preparation before the wedding filmed. I wanted to be able to look back at the video years to come. Dad was the one who hurried us out of the house because we couldn't seem to be ready even after we were all dressed. Aliyah and Kim were the ones fussing over their makeup, Joanna and Lexi were fussing over their hair. Lexi was also fussing over the dress while I was fussing over practically everything. I wanted to be sure I looked my best. Mom and Dad finally got us out of the house and into the cars. Kim, Chrissy and I rode with dad while Lexi, Aliyah and Joanna rode with mom.
By the time we had reached the venue where the wedding was supposed to take place, I couldn't stop shaking. We had decided to have the wedding at a little resort right near the beach and then we'd just move to the reception area which was one of the halls at the resort.
"You're nervous." Kim stated with a little laugh.
"I am freaking out Kim." I let out a chuckle. "I forgot that practically all of my family and friends and Sean's were invited."
"It about to be time sweetheart." Dad said to me with a smile. "Are you ready?"
"Not really, but it's too late to chicken out now right."
I was so anxious all the while right up until dad walked me down aisle. Approval and joy was evident on Sean's when he met me part way right and we both walked up to the alter. My insides were trembling as the pastor did the wedding ceremony, vows were said, and Sean and I were officially pronounced man and wife.
I was so happy when the wedding ceremony was over and it was time to move on to the reception. It meant that I was officially Mrs.Mercier. And I could hide a bit now from being the center of attention- in the spotlight. All the times that I went to weddings, I had no idea that this was how the bride and groom felt. Standing up there with literally everyone from my family and friends as well as from Sean's, sitting in the audience just watching you, it was nerve wracking. The reception was twice as much fun as the wedding ceremony. All the different speeches and congratulations, dancing and everything else was pure fun. The reception area was gorgeous with the pink and green decoration that was used for the theme.
The bridal party was absolutely beautiful. Sean's best man was his brother- Elvis- who wore a green vest along with green tie and white shirt with black slacks and jacket. The groomsmen were his friends Zach, Jeffrey and his cousin Kiran who wore pink vest and tie. Sean had settled for a simple three piece gray suit but he looked dashing all the same.
"Are you happy?" Sean asked as we were wrapped in each other's arms for our dance of the evening.
"Yeah, I am happy." I smiled at him. "More than anything. Are you happy?"
"More than you can imagine." Sean responded.
Today was definitely without a doubt, one of the happiest days of my life.

After our wedding, Sean took a week off from work so that we could go on our honeymoon. Even though it was only a few days, I still believed that a week long honeymoon is better than no honeymoon whatsoever. We also had a great time on our relatively short honeymoon. Sean and I went to the Caribbean- Jamaica. It was an absolutely breathtaking and wonderful island. Most of our week was spent in Ocho Rios where we visited the different resorts and beaches. We went to the dolphin coves, mystic mountain, Dunn's River falls, resorts and other places. It was an experience that I would love to have once again.
By the weekend, we flew back to Los Angeles, but I was sick out of this world. Sean thought that maybe it was something I caught while in Jamaica, or as a result of trying different and new cuisines but I did not think so. I had to tell him that I was having some issues like this for over a month, almost two months now. When I told him my symptoms, he practically went white as snow. I didn't understand why he reacted that way until he made me do a pregnancy test. Of course I told him that I wasn't pregnant, I was still having my monthly cycle, I was on the pill and I already did a pregnancy test. Just like the one Sean made me do, the tests before also said that it was negative. I told him about the pills and how they have been making me sick so I have decided that I was going to stop taking them. Sean agreed with me getting off the pill. I was feeling much better after about a week of not being on the pill, which proved that I was allergic or something to oral contraceptives.
It wasn't long after Sean suggested trying a different method of contraceptive. I wasn't up for the idea of any of what he suggested. I had only stopped taking the pill for a week and I felt better, I wanted to wait a while before I jumped right back into trying another contraceptive.
I was able to find out something Sean and I never really discussed before. My refusal to readily agree to try another method of contraceptive right away almost led to an argument between Sean and I. It was through that, I learned that Sean didn't want anymore kids. This wasn't a topic that Sean and I had discussed before but I certainly wished that we had talked about it before we had gotten married.
Sean was serious about not wanting anymore kids. When I asked him why, he responded that he was getting older and just didn't want anymore. I realized that this new discovery was going to cause problems between us. He already had two kids, so he was alright with not having anymore. However, I was still young, and even though I wasn't exactly ready to become a mother just yet, I wanted children of my own one day. I wasn't in agreement this time with him. He should have told me this from the beginning, even though I could have brought up the conversation as well.
The disagreement literally caused tension between us. It was really frustrating because we had only gotten married for a month as a newly wed family. We should be overjoyed instead we were already having issues. All this issue that we've been having made me extremely emotional and upset most of the time and I started feeling sick once again. Instead of letting Sean know about it, I just decided to go see another doctor instead. I thought that it would be better to see a doctor who wasn't my husband.
