Chapter 41 The Last Time as a Substitute

Chapter 41 The Last Time as a Substitute
After finishing the call, she hung up directly.
...
Dominic finished work and drove all the way back to the Harrington family.
"Dominic, why are you back so early tonight?" The old lady greeted him.
Dominic looked inside but didn't see that gentle figure. "Mom, where's Kylie?"
"Kylie? Isn't she still at her parents' house? She hasn't come back."
She hasn't come back?
But she sent him such a message last night, and he thought she had already returned.
Without her fragrance, he always couldn't fall asleep.
He didn’t sleep last night either.
Dominic took out his phone and sent a text message to Kylie: "Why haven't you come back?"
At this time, Kylie in the Bennett family was startled when receiving this text message. Ava promised it would be fine. Why hasn’t she gone back yet?
Kylie dialed Ava's mobile number directly.
But it didn’t connect; instead there was an icy mechanical tone saying “Sorry, the phone you have dialed is turned off.”
Ava actually turned off her phone?
Why did she turn it off?
What should Dominic do now?
Kylie quickly replied: "Honey, something came up here. I'll rush over as soon as possible."
However, half an hour passed and then one hour passed; Ava’s phone was still switched off status.
Kylie became anxious like ants on a hot pot. At this moment Ava turned on her phone again and answered the call.
"Ava! What are you doing? Why did you turn your phone off? Do you know how long my honey has been waiting for me?" Kylie questioned.
"Kylie! Where is my gemstone ring? Give me my gemstone ring," said Ava.
"Gemstone ring..."
"Kylie, I thought what happened earlier was enough for you to understand. This game is under my control! If you don't give me the gemstone ring, I won't go and accompany Dominic!" Ava said.
Kylie was caught in a dilemma and felt extremely angry.
"Kylie, where is my gemstone ring? I can wait for you, but I'm afraid Dominic can’t," Ava continued.
Kylie almost exploded with anger. "Okay, Ava. Tomorrow I'll give you the gemstone ring. But tonight you must go and accompany my honey; otherwise we will both die together!"
Kylie proposed another exchange condition.
Ava didn't want to go anymore. Last night he humiliated her so blatantly that she hated him to the extreme; she didn't want to be his substitute again.
But now she had no choice but to nod her head: "Okay, I'll go. But Kylie, this is the last time."
Tonight would be her last time as a substitute!
...
The Harrington family.
Dominic finished showering and waited for Kylie.
After waiting for a long time, finally came the voice of the old lady from outside: "Kylie! You're back! Have you eaten yet? Let someone heat up some food for you."
Dominic walked out and saw that slender figure.
Ava had come back; now being pulled affectionately by the old lady. She lost her mother at an early age; although she had only spent a short period of time with the old lady it made her feel like experiencing maternal warmth once again.
"No need mom, I've already eaten."
The old lady immediately took out an emerald green jade bracelet and put it on Ava's delicate wrist: "This is Mommy's gift to you."
"Mommy...I cannot accept this," said Ava.
This jade bracelet looked like a family heirloom - very precious. Ava felt guilty; she thought of herself as a fraud, deceiving the old lady's feelings.
She was not the old lady's daughter-in-law but an impostor.
"Take it, take it Kylie. This is passed down to my daughter-in-law. From now on this will be your home. If anyone bullies you, tell Dominic; if Dominic bullies you, tell Mommy - then no one in this world can bully you!" The old lady smiled.
Ava felt warm inside and for the first time envied Kylie.
This jade bracelet should belong to Kylie.
When Kylie comes over again, she would be the real daughter-in-law of the old lady.
After that night she probably wouldn't come here anymore; when she becomes Ava again, even if she sees her again the old lady won’t recognize her.
For now Ava temporarily accepted it and took out an aromatherapy bottle to give to the old lady.
