Alive or not

Alive or not
Alea's POV

Dera looked up from Alucard only to see me and my arms free. She widened her eyes in shock knowing Alucard didn't let me go.

“That's my family you talked about” I said, referring to the people who were now ruining the banquet.

Alucard was quick to strike me with her lightning and though I tried to duck, it sent me to the floor with blood getting coughed out of my mouth.

Before I regained my strength, Dera had moved to my side, holding me tight by the hands as Alucard used her power to create a binding chain which binded my hands together.

I tried to cut them off but couldn't and then she smirked.

“Try to get these off if you can” A smug smile on her face. “Now I will lead you to where the Obsidian Heart is buried and you will get it out in order to awaken the demon wolf king” She was using her spell, I could feel it. The Obsidian Heart was still working for her.

“Yes, I will” I replied and she smiled, glad that she's got things under control.

She didn't care about the people who were in the banquet or the havoc that was getting created there since the banquet was just a cover for the ritual anyways.

They led me to what seemed like an old basement which had hundreds of guards guiding it. It was just like I had seen in the map before I got locked up, the Obsidian Heart was somewhere close to here.

Dozens of doors were opened before we were able to gain entrance into where the Obsidian Heart was buried. Alucard signalled to some guards to open the golden lock leading to where the Obsidian Heart was buried and he did.

Then the guard dug out some stone garnet before moving aside for Alucard to give the next order.

“Now take the pot out” Alucard ordered me, and I walked to the dug-up ground. My eyes landed on the chamber pot which started showing bright light when I got there.

It recognized me as the descendant of the founder of the relic.

I moved my hand slowly to it and touched it. I tried to process it and realized that it didn't hurt me.

It confirmed that I was truly my mother's daughter.

I brought the pot out, with my hands still bonded together. Alucard came forward, trying to direct me to where I was to go but instead of following her orders any longer, I cast a spell under my breath and the chains binding my hand together disappeared into thin air.

Everyone was shocked and Alucard got ready to attack but she knew better than to attack me with the relic in my hand. She would be able to hurt me, but she would also be making the Obsidian Heart crash to the floor.

“You think your spell was working on me?” I asked and laughed. “I'm the Phantom Queen, not you” I made her understand and she backed away, finally getting scared of my authority.

“Guys?” I called and like shadows that had been lurking around in the air, Raven and Sage appeared with some other refugees.

Everything that had been happening had been part of the plan and I'm glad even Alucard was acting according to how we had presumed.

Raven's gaze locked onto Dera, staring at her with venom.

“Dera, you…..” He said, hurt by her betrayal. It made me recall how he had run into the Elder's meeting room to announce her comeback, he was surely glad that his younger cousin was back.

I broke the tension in the room when Dera couldn't utter a word nor give him an apologetic look of remorse.

“Do you still have more energy to fight, Alucard? Dera?” I asked and with the way Alucard gritted, I knew she had lost most of her powers because the Obsidian Heart was now in my hands.

Dera looked at me like she could kill me with those eyes but I didn't give a damn about her.

“Take them” I ordered and Sage and Raven moved to do it but the two people weren't willing to go with them so I binded their hands the same way Alucard had binded mine earlier.

I didn't lose any of my powers. Everything was just an act.

Alucard was led out by Sage who I knew would give her a hard time because of how she had treated him in the past, and Raven wanted to take Dera when she jerked his hands away, turning to face me.

“When are you killing us?” She asked and I chuckled. “Maybe not anytime soon. Depends on how things turn out between us” I gave her a smirk, walking away.

“Azura. Your mother” she said, making me lift my gaze to look at her once again. “You want to know more about her, don't you?” She said, eyes looking so serious I couldn't help but want her to continue.

“Alucard already told me about her. I doubt there's anything new you might have to tell me” I said, knowing she was stalling for time because she still can't believe she got caught that easily.

Truth be told, this happened too easily like I would have expected. Getting Alucard.

“She might have told you she's alive but did she tell you where she is?” She said and my eyes widened a bit.

“You….know where she is?” I asked, and almost immediately hated the fact that I almost fell for her lie.

“Get her out of here Raven, I won't fall for her lies” I said, getting annoyed.

“Anytime you are ready to see your mother. Then you can come to me. I guess you will at least keep me alive until then” She said before walking out without having to be dragged.

My gaze squinted as I thought about what she had said. She doesn't look like she'd be lying. Heck! I don't think she is, but another part of me didn't want to believe her. I believed she was just looking for something to hold on so as to keep her life.

But then again, I was curious about my mother. Is she alive, or not?
