Look Forward to it
Alea's POV
My hands were tied from beneath my head and my head dangled downwards. It was like life had been sucked out of me.
I opened my eyes, slowly and in pain. It took some minutes before I remembered what had happened to me and how I might have ended up here.
Dera.
She had knocked me down in Alucard's room and must have brought me into this place that looked like an underground basement.
Talk of the devil. Dera entered through the door, smirking at me.
“Hey little sister, guess you weren't expecting this?” She said, moving closer, not fearing what I could do to her if she came too close.
I didn't give a response but just stared at her. If I was to summon the shadows then she'd be done for. Or if I was to summon my energy to the core, then she'd be doomed.
I'm the Phantom Queen and she should have known better than to cross me.
“Thinking of ways to deal with your only surviving cousin?” She asked, not surprised, but amused.
“Guess you figured it out quite well” I chuckled.
“Too bad. You won't be able to use your power here. I fed you some things while you were asleep” That shocked me as I swallowed trying to figure out what had been shoved through my throat but couldn't find an answer to that.
It made me panic. I tried using my power to break free from the chains they had used to tie my hands but it didn't work.
The shadows couldn't come out either.
“Now I know you are a cunning bitch, Dera. Who do you report to? Who do you work for?” I asked, my gaze darkening like I was commanding her to give a response to that question.
She smirked, closing in on the little space between us.
“Who else? Alucard. The one who would soon take this world for herself” She said with a smug smile and I couldn't help but laugh. She looked at me, a shocking expression on her face.
“You really are a fool” I laughed more loudly and I guessed that pissed her off.
“What did Alucard promise you? Wealth? Protection? Some treasures money can't buy?” I held back a laugh, not wanting to piss her off any further else I might have to watch her slit my throat open while she killed me slowly.
“Shut the crap, Azura. There will be a banquet happening in two days. Alucard will use you to lure the demon wolf king out and I will be rewarded with half her empire for bringing you to her” Dera said, caressing my face and I jerked away from her.
“And you believe her? You believe she will give all those to you just because you brought me to her? Half her empire is worth betraying the people you've known since you were kids? You are pathetic, Dera” I said to her, my gaze laced with venom.
She yanked my hair, clearly moved by anger.
“You are in no position to judge or lecture me, Azura. You are in a pit of hell ready to fall into a death trap yet you still lecture someone else? You are more pathetic” she said, trying to get to me with that. The hell? Was she expecting me to keep shut and reflect on my life because of what she had said?
“Do whatever you want with me, Dera. Just do it well to make sure you won't regret it” I gritted and she smiled.
“You will be here for two days, Azura. No food, no water. On the banquet day, we will come get you and you will lead us to get the Obsidian Heart out. Stay strong till then, you can't die until I get my rewards” she said, patted my shoulder and walked out, her whole face plastered with a smug smile.
I chuckled as she walked out.
Fool.
She really didn't think I'm as foolish as she is, did she?
It had been a failed mission for her since the beginning. Since the very first day.
I smiled to myself remembering the day Dera had come to the refugee camp.
The first thing my wolf sniffled when she came near me was the scent on her. The very same scent that covered all of Alucard's fortress, it made me suspicious of her and even my wolf didn't stop roaring at me that she didn't trust her.
The fact that she's very skilled in martial arts didn't only prove that she learned it to protect herself, it revealed the fact that she was working under an organization. Sneaking out, sending messages and receiving messages from a phoenix bird, it revealed the fact that she was a heinous spy.
She made it just too obvious.
It had been just two days, but I followed her everywhere, trying to gain info on her. The fact that she took me to the market made me realize that she wanted me to hear about the demon wolf king so I could act on it.
Then I knew that she worked with Alucard and that Alucard wanted my help while luring the demon wolf king out.
I played along. No—we all played along as I had informed the elders, and the rest of the refugee camp. The plan we marked out in front of Dera wasn't the real plan, then everyone already knows she wasn't a friend but an enemy.
She was the only one in the dark while the rest of us had the real plan marked out. Of course I would be risking my life, I always had but this move we made would mean killing four birds with a stone.
Because I'm here, I will be able to expose Dera, I will be able to prevent Alucard from releasing the demon wolf king, I will be able to get Alucard herself, and I will be able to claim Kairo back for myself.
The banquet day? Of course, I would wait. I would survive because the day would mean a lot to me and there would be a lot of shows.
Dera. Alucard.
Look forward to it.
