Chapter 176: Your good days are over
Edward POV 

"All of you fall back!" the voice came from outside and the men immediately disappeared the way they came. Hearing that voice, a wry smile made its way on my face as the voice was Archie's. It seems that my calculations are all wrong as they are even more determined to take revenge on me than consolidate their powers, which means that they have arrived even before I get the news. 

It made me realise that it must have everything to do with Vlad's departure and also the reason why they can find this place without much stress. It was as if I had been abandoned in a cage waiting for their arrival. My strong, unshakeable base, for the first time, appears like a cage to me. 

Soon, the face of an extremely handsome male appeared at the entrance as it made its way inside, a step at a time with a mocking smile on his lips. "Edward, long time no see. How have you been?" he taunted but I didn't reply as I was thinking of ways to escape this encirclement. The fact that he is here shows that the other six are here as well. "No words? It's like you didn't want to meet me, but sadly I'm already here. Don't panic yet; you are not in hell as we didn't die from your attack three years ago, but you will be there very soon," he chuckled, and I snorted. "Even if I have no way to escape the event of you, I can still kill you before the others come," I said and immediately fired; as if he had been prepared, he immediately dodged like a flash and hid behind a pillar. 

"You seem to never have aged as is still as capable of before, but sadly, I'm not that kid from years back anymore", he said. And as we spoke, those men started streaming inside once more. As I wanted to start where I stopped, Archie immediately shot and intercepted me, making me face me.

Those men met with my men all over the place, and the gunshot started once more. "What? The other six abandoned only you here? You guys are not as close as I thought," I taunted, but he snorted. "You don't have to stress your old brain as Eliam is just outside the entrance keeping guard to settle any ants that will be so naive to swarm here from outside to say you" he said and my mood turned sole once more as many of my men are already on the way when they heard the alert. This is my country, and my men are like sands. That was why I'm still confident, but it appeared like they were also prepared. At least with Eliam out there, it will be one-sided slaughter. It seems he didn't die.

"Oh? You guys are really prepared but do you think you alone can contend with me? Naive" I said while slowly stepping out from the pillar I was hiding on to move to the next with the intention to get closer to him. "Naive? No, I will call it overestimation as I'm overestimating your old bone capability," he said and rushed out from his own pillar to shoot me, but I immediately hid on the one closer to me while greeting his shot with mine as well, which he successfully dodged. 

"Let me make it clear to your old bone ear that you have no means of escape as Luca and Asher are in front of the main entrance. Eliam and I are here whilst Jake and Adam are just coming back from the fake place that wasn't really an entrance and they will soon join us here, you have no means of escape at all" he said and chuckled "I forgot to add, that Ace is with Asher too, old man, your good days are up" he said, although I became more nervous but I didn't show it.

Normal, there are three entrances to the base but it seems like they didn't find the last one. Thinking of that I couldn't help but ask "What about Vlad? His turtle self dare not come with you after showing you guys the way?" I said and he snorted "Which Vlad? Ace just sent him away just to avoid some pity when we kill you. As for how we find your cage? It's all thanks to Asher wonderful skills" he said and I sighed. Alas, all of them have grown to this extent; with this Asher skill, no base in the world could hide from them once they are determined to find them.

Although they didn't find the last base but they would not have given me time to rush away from it at all, and once the others arrived and joined forces with them it would be more dangerous so I wasn't really taking the last base as hope at all. We continued to dive and manoeuvre, shooting each other at every chance we got, trying to kill ourselves which every chance we got. His skills and fastness really made me scared; if the others were as strong as him, then it would surely be my death. I breathed in, trying to calm myself even if it was a little.

The gunshots on the other side were starting to decrease, but then many helicopters and bulletproof buses came sounding, and once more, the shooting over there intensity. Here, my men were dying in numbers as they couldn't even contend with the opponents at all, but I wasn't worried nor cared about their deaths as what I was after was my own survival first. Cars sounded on this entrance too and the people ourselves started another gun fire. I didn't dare to think how much Eliam slaughters their pitiful self.

After a lot of near-death between me and Archie "Son, let's negotiate, it hasn't come to this stage yet, remember, I'm your father" I said and he snorted "Your son Archie died three years ago in a bombed down castle. Have you forgotten so soon?" he retorted coldly.
