Chapter 59: It won't hurt, it'll just be bad for you

Chapter 59: It won't hurt, it'll just be bad for you
William gazed at her with indescribable affection in his eyes.
There was so much hidden and suppressed in his eyes that he saw his own stupidity in the bottom of Sophia's eyes.
William took a deep breath before swallowing the words that came to his lips.
"What threat would Thomas pose to me?"
Sophia sighed in relief as she answered him, "That's something I can tell you."
Just as soon as the words left her mouth, Sophia suddenly paused, her expression growing more and more confused, and finally her brow wrinkled in a tangled frown as she muttered, "Strange, why can't I remember? Did you really hurt your brain?"
"What's wrong?" William asked with concern.
Sophia rubbed the back of her head, her little face scrunched up in a ball as she said, "I forgot what time it was."
"Time?"
"Yes, the time of your accident, I remember it was this year, but what month and what day it was, I forget, I don't even remember where it happened." Sophia suspected that she had been reading the paper too quickly and hadn't paid attention to the time.
But with her memory, there was no way she couldn't remember a single word, this was too strange.
Sophia forced forced herself to think of it, and the more she thought about it, the more her head hurt.
"Stop thinking!" William was busy stopping her.
Sophia gave up, she huffed, "It must be the wine, this loser, it's too much to drink!"
William was amused by her, he realized that she always had a way of tugging at his emotions.
"Thank you." William suddenly said to her.
Sophia was puzzled, "Thank you for what?"
"Nothing, just wanted to say thank you." William said, smiled, touched her head and said, "It's late, go back to sleep."
Sophia seemed to know what he thanked her for, so she smiled and said, "You're welcome, I should do it."
William gazed at her with attention, those eyes, as if he wanted to drown in her smile, the distance between them was so close, only a bottle of whisky separating them, that as soon as he lowered his head, he could touch her softest lips.
William wanted to, but he couldn't.
He took the lead and rose to his feet, not allowing himself to stare into her eyes any longer for fear that he would become engrossed and out of control.
Sophia didn't notice his abnormality, and after standing up after him, with the two of them standing so side by side, Sophia realized that he was already a head taller than her.
"How did you grow so tall?"
Sophia stood on her tiptoes and put her hand on top of her head, and compared with him, realizing that the top of her head was only up to the position of his neck, and if she stood flat, it would only be up to her shoulders.
It was clearly the same height before, and in the blink of an eye, she had to raise her head and look up at him.
William thought for a moment and explained, "Human height is genetically predominant, followed by environment, nutrition, and exercise, height is regulated by the body's growth hormone, which has a certain regularity, puberty-"
"Stop, stop!" Sophia interrupted him in time, "We all understand the theory, I'll just flirt with you, you should be proud at this time, or, flirt back."
"Like what?"
"Like - forget it, who teaches someone to flirt with themselves, go back to sleep." Sophia gave up decisively, packed up her stuff on the floor, and went back to bed.
William kept following her, Sophia was about to go into her room and he was still there, so she simply waved to him and said, "Good night, you go back to your room and sleep too."
"This is my room."
Sophia: "......"
She had definitely had too much wine!
The next morning, Sophia woke up at 6:00 a.m. She heard a commotion downstairs, went out of her room, and looked downstairs to see several cleaning aunts cleaning.
Sophia sleepily stretched out, into the bathroom to wash up well out of the time, passing through the kitchen, inadvertently saw a cleaning aunts inside, looking around, sneaky.
Sophia was busy hiding, not a moment later, the cleaning lady came out of the kitchen and left.
Sophia hugged her arms, pondering, she went into the kitchen, and before long, she came out.
At seven o'clock Mark came over with breakfast.
Breakfast was something William had instructed him to buy, a very famous teahouse, and he had waited in line for a long time to get it.
A few big bags full, Mark opened the packed lunch boxes one by one, and therefore didn't notice Sophia standing behind him, when Sophia made a sound, Mark was startled!
"Why don't you make any noise when you walk?" Mark accused her as soon as he turned his head.
Sophia smiled apologetically, "I didn't mean to scare you, I think you were concentrating too much."
"It's clearly you who walks without sound." Mark denied, scowling and not giving her a good look.
Sophia, however, didn't mind at all, or rather, she didn't care at all.
Afterglow glanced at the cleaning aunt not far behind her, Sophia bumped Mark's arm and lowered her voice to ask him, "Who hired these cleaning aunts?"
"Arranged by the housekeeping company, they come over once a week to clean, and since William usually doesn't have time to come back to stay, the house is basically in a state of idleness."
Sophia subconsciously said, "Didn't he come back last night?"
"It's not because of you." Mark said in a bad mood, looking at her with obvious resentment in his eyes.
Sophia sniffed and felt a hint of bad taste, this guy, why is he so hostile towards her?
Could it be - he likes William?
When he heard Sophia's words, Mark happened to be drinking his tea, so without any suspense, he sprayed!
"Ahem, what are you babbling about!" Mark choked and looked at her with an incredulous face.
Sophia shrugged, "Then why are you so hostile towards me? Making it seem like I stole your man."
"That's because I'm afraid you'll hurt my boss!" Mark was annoyed.
Sophia paused for a moment, she was about to say something when William came over, toweling his damp, crushed hair, with the heat of a freshly showered body, and stepped towards Sophia, the man's crisp, clean scent enveloping her.
"Who would hurt me?"
His voice carried a hint of a low rasp, and Sophia looked up, able to see the knot in his rolling throat due to his proximity.
Mark was at a loss for words for a moment, and just when he thought Sophia was going to tell William off, Sophia said something like, "It's not about hurting, it's just that it would be bad for you."
Sophia said and signaled a look at them, Mark subconsciously followed her gaze, a cleaning lady was polishing a vase.
Puzzled, Mark asked, "What's wrong with her?"
"I just saw her sneaking around the kitchen and then, picked this up in the trash." Sophia pulled it out of her pocket, a small black plastic part.
Mark picked it up and looked at it for half a second, but still couldn't tell what it was, "What's this thing that looks like a little lid? Swept out from somewhere?"
"A miniature monitor." William spoke up at this point.
The corner of Sophia's mouth hooked, "That's right, it's the parts left over from the installation of the monitor."
Mark's eyes instantly widened, a monitor? What did this cleaning lady mean by installing a monitor here?
"Tell them all to stop, just tell them that I'm a bit on the ball and want to talk to them." A huff crossed William's face and he flung his towel over the back of the chair and took a seat in the other one.
He didn't lash out, and he didn't say a single angry word the entire time, but the atmosphere just solidified in the flesh.
Mark didn't even dare to breathe a sigh of relief, and busily asked the cleaning aunts who were working to put down the work in their hands and all gather over.
