Chapter 40: That Woman, Logan's Mistress!

Chapter 40: That Woman, Logan's Mistress!
"Is it snowing?" Sophia walked under the largest Christmas tree standing in the square and looked up as white specks slowly drifted down from the night sky. She reached out to catch the snowflakes on her palm; they melted upon contact with her warmth.
"Yes, it's snowing," William stood beside her, his hands in the pockets of his overcoat, his head tilted back, creating a perfect curve from his jawline to his Adam's apple.
Couples around them began to embrace and kiss, and Sophia felt a wave of awkwardness, surrounded as they were by such intimacy, with a minor present!
"Ahem, let's go, grab something to eat," Sophia coughed lightly to mask her embarrassment and led William away from the scene.
They ended up at a KFC.
The restaurant was bustling with children running around, and it was quite lively. Every customer received a cute Santa hat with deer ears that twinkled and lit up.
Then, Sophia looked at William, who wore the adorable headband with his usual poker face, and couldn't help but laugh.
William looked at her indifferently, "Is it funny?"
"Hahaha! No, it's not funny, it's just very cute," Sophia laughed heartily, especially when she saw Tristan and the two bodyguards forced to wear them, looking utterly defeated, she laughed even more.
William propped his chin and stared at her intently.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Sophia had her fill of laughter and only then noticed that William had been watching her the whole time.
William withdrew his gaze and casually said, "Nothing."
"Okay," Sophia focused on her burger, not paying much attention.
At that moment, a little boy dressed in a mini suit and leather shoes ran into the store, followed by a middle-aged man in a suit.
"Driver! I want this!"
"Young master, your mother said we can't eat this unhealthy food. Let's go."
"No! I want it!"
The little boy started to throw a tantrum. Sophia was the first to look over, and upon seeing the middle-aged man, her expression became strange.
William didn't pay attention to the two but noticed Sophia's unusual expression. He asked, "Is something wrong?"
"He—" Sophia was about to speak when the little boy suddenly spotted William, immediately got up from the ground, and ran to William, exclaiming, "Brother! Why are you here too? That's great, buy this for me!"
William ignored him and waved to Tristan.
Seeing this, Tristan quickly came over and took Austin to the middle-aged man. The man was stunned when he saw William and Sophia sitting together.
Wasn't that woman the one he had seen at William's house on 17 St. Laurent Street the last time he took his wife there?
Indeed, the wrong house was a ruse; this woman clearly lived with William. He had to hurry back and tell his wife!
So, after hastily buying Austin a children's meal, the middle-aged man left with Austin.
As Austin left with the man, he glanced at Sophia sitting with William.
He tilted his head in confusion but said nothing.
Sophia asked William, "Who is that child?"
William didn't speak, but Tristan coughed lightly at this moment, giving Sophia a meaningful look, then said, "That child is Austin Mason."
Sophia caught his hint, realizing that the little boy was Logan and Chloe's illegitimate child. She pretended as if nothing had happened and urged William to continue eating.
However, they hadn't eaten for long when Tristan approached again.
He whispered something in William's ear. William turned his head and looked at the roadside; a car was parked there with the window rolled down, revealing a face he knew all too well.
William frowned. He glanced at Sophia, who was still eating fries with ketchup, stood up, and said to her, "After you've eaten, the butler will take you back. I have something to attend to and may not be back early. Go to bed early."
"Where are you going?"
William turned to look outside the glass window, and Sophia followed his gaze, then understood, and said to William, "Okay, go ahead."
"Even if he sees you, I won't let him touch you," William said to her before leaving. Sophia paused, then couldn't help but smile.
This fool, he didn't know she had already met Logan.
"Okay, I trust you," Sophia made an encouraging gesture to him.
Before getting into the black car, William looked back at Sophia, who was waving at him through the glass window with a bright smile. She raised both hands and made a few gestures he somewhat understood. She smiled brilliantly, not at all like an adult, often more childish than him.
At this moment, Sophia appeared to him as a little girl.
William's lips curved involuntarily, his gaze tender and indulgent as he watched her, as if she were his treasure.
Inside the car, Logan observed every move of William. The look in William's eyes was all too familiar to Logan; it was the gaze one would have when looking at a beloved woman...
When Chloe learned that Logan had gone to see William as soon as he returned, she swept the carefully prepared candlelight dinner onto the floor in a fit of rage and locked herself in her room after venting.
She didn't expect Logan to come and coax her; in fact, since she had entered this family, Logan had never touched her.
Chloe was even prepared to fight with mistresses and lovers in the future. She was certain that Logan must have other women outside because he could resist touching her.
Humph! No matter what kind of woman he brings back later, in this house, she is the lady of the house!
"Madam!"
Chloe, who had locked herself in her room drinking, heard someone calling her. She was too lazy to respond and didn't want to open the door.
But the person knocking on the door had no intention of stopping, knocking and shouting, "Madam! I have something important to tell you, please open the door."
Chloe was annoyed and could only go to open the door. It was the middle-aged man, and as soon as he saw Chloe, he told her what he had seen between William and Sophia.
"You said that woman is with William?" Chloe narrowed her calculating eyes.
The middle-aged man nodded, "Yes, Tristan was there too, and it seems they are already very familiar with each other."
"Who is that woman exactly?" Chloe couldn't figure it out. If that woman and William were really that kind of relationship, Tristan wouldn't stand by and do nothing.
"Mommy! I saw it!"
Austin ran over excitedly at this moment, dancing with joy, and Chloe couldn't help but ask, "What did you see?"
"The angel sister in the painting!" His eyes were shining.
Chloe frowned, "What angel sister in the painting?"
Chloe had heard that Logan had a painting that he cherished, and no one was allowed to see it, not even her.
She later found out that Logan's facial scar was inflicted by the woman in the painting, and some people said that the woman in the painting was his ex-wife Emily.
If it was Emily, she wasn't curious, so she never thought of sneaking a peek.
"It's the sister with my brother, she looks like the angel sister in daddy's painting, I saw it!" Austin couldn't wait to share his discovery with everyone.
Chloe's face turned pale!
The woman in the painting wasn't Emily, but the woman living with William?
At this moment, Chloe suddenly thought of something and suddenly understood, she exclaimed in shock, "I understand, that woman is actually Logan's mistress!"
Chloe figured it all out; no wonder William wanted to come back, and Logan forgave him and let him return.
It turned out they had been in contact all along in secret, and that woman was the new stepmother he found for William!
Chloe was furious! She absolutely would not allow this to happen!
The middle-aged man wondered, "Madam, but the master's face was scarred by that woman, could she really be the master's mistress?"
"What do you know! You men, the more you can't get something, the more you want it. It must be that woman playing hard to get, deliberately hurting his face to make Logan remember her." Chloe became more and more angry, especially thinking about Sophia's attitude towards her.
No wonder she dared to be so arrogant, she was a lover!
"Damn it, I should have scratched that woman's face last time I saw her!"
The middle-aged man advised her, "Madam, you should calm down first, should we confirm the portrait first?"
This reminded Chloe, and she decisively said, "Go see it right away, if the person in the painting really looks exactly like that woman, I will never let her go!"
