Chapter 47 I will do it myself

Chapter 47 I will do it myself

Calix

Calix walked furiously inside the small room she and her friends were in. She paused, took a drag off her cigarette, and puffed the smoke into the air.
"How the hell did she get back to school? I wanted her gone. I wanted her never to return to school. All of a sudden, she returns. How was that possible? How did she get back? Who got her in?"
Her hands balled into tight fists like she was ready to punch anything that got in her way.
"She must have some power behind her. Someone doing all that work," Archer suggested. Calix gave her a straight gaze, making the girl look anywhere else but at her.
"I don't want to hear anything. That wretched grandmother of hers can't possibly do anything. She has no money nor power to do that."
"On a serious note, I don't know why you hate that girl so much. She did nothing wrong. Her friend did," Quinox said as she took a drag of her own cigarette.
Calix stared at her like she was actually considering what she said, but that didn't mean anything.
"When I see her, I see her friend. Which means she has to take the consequences of her friend's actions. I don't care who crosses me."
"You know what, it's useless talking to you all. I'm leaving."
Without further ado, she stepped out of their location—an uncompleted building that was not far from school. It was where they always gathered to do business that was not supposed to be in the public eye, and one of those things was smoking. Such information couldn't get out, especially given who she was: a daughter from the presidential household. Not just anyone, but the president's granddaughter.
She sent a quick text to her driver. Since the school could not expel Naomi, she would tell her grandfather to get her out of the way before she did it herself. It was not going to be messy if she did it herself.
She stepped out of the car when they reached home. She marched towards the front door and almost bumped into Julian, who was rushing down the stairs with a cup of coffee in his hands.
"You could have knocked my drink down," he eyed her, taking a sip from the drink. "What’s it with you? Why do you have that murder look on your face?"
"If Polivan doesn't do anything about my concerns right now, then I will definitely murder someone."
She tried to walk past him, but Julian got a hold of her blue backpack and pulled her back.
"It's obvious that you have been smoking. He is your grandfather and you have no right to call him anything but his name. Give him some respect."
Calix raised her brows as she took in Julian. He had always been that cool brother, but sometimes he turned out to be so annoying. If he were not her brother, she would have done something drastic to him a long ago, especially that time he almost got her friends locked up, saying that they had been the ones who introduced her to smoking.
The one who got her into it was no more. And Zara was the cause of it. Yeah, Naomi’s friend was the cause of it. Torino would still be alive if Zara hadn't dragged him to Kyn. Before that, she had heard rumors of them dating. She loved him too much to even care about such rumors.
"And it's obvious that fresh air has not been getting to your skin due to the tight long sleeves you wear every day. You should try short sleeves sometimes, too."
A little flicker beamed in Julian's eyes; he shook his head and left.
Sleeves. No. He was not going to get rid of them. Only he knew what was underneath them.
Without getting out of her school uniform, she stomped into her grandfather's office. The man was the country's president with a lot of responsibilities on his table. He could be busy with some project or meeting right now, but she didn't care. She wanted her needs to be met. She didn't care under what kind of situations they would be met.
She pushed the door open to her grandfather and two other men whom she didn't quite recognize. He met a lot of people every day.
"There's something I need to talk to you about, Pa."
He raised his hands to the men that were in the room. They stepped outside. The almost seventy-year-old man with all-gray hair leaned back in his chair, signaling for her to go on.
"There is this kid in my school that I want gone. Expelled, probably stopped from attending any school in this country. I want it to happen immediately."
"What did she do?"
Calix stepped back, hesitating for a moment.
"She just annoys me. I already got her expelled but she came back again. Someone got her in. I want her gone for good. Let her fade."
"You got her expelled because she annoys you? Because you have the authority doesn't mean you can do however you like. You don't get people punished for something like that."
Okay, this was not what she came for. She needed immediate action, not this long talk.
"And besides, who is this student?"
A sly smile crossed her face. She was finally getting there. She knew he was not going to let her down.
"Some Naomi Allister."
He looked at her... "Naomi Allister."
"Yes. Her." She studied the look on his face. It was like he was trying to recall the name or where he had heard about it.
"Not every one of your requests shall be granted. So, nothing is going to happen to her. And I don't want to hear that you did something to her or any other student. You can now leave my office."
Calix had to look around the office, expecting he was talking to someone else that was in the room, except it was just the two of them.
"No, Grandpa, you can't do that. She has to leave. She..."
"Out of my office right now, Calix. I don't want to have this conversation again with you."
"No. Why don't you always grant my requests? You would have done it if it was Julian, right? You always ignore me."
She said it while making her way to the door. What was so hard for him to grant her that request? Naomi was a nobody and didn't deserve anything, not even a place. It was one request, yet he denied her.
He would have definitely done that if it was Julian. She didn't think she would come to that conclusion one day, but she could see it now. Julian was more favored than she was. Why? He would do anything for him, but not her. Why was it like that?
It was the same thing between their mothers, though she never grew up to know Julian's mother. It must be the reason why her mother left to go start her life somewhere else. She would have gone to Julian, but she knew it would hit a dead end, just like with her grandpa.
She would do things her own way. This wouldn't have happened if Zara had stayed out of her way, if she didn't get involved with Torin. She wouldn't be going this insane if Naomi didn't remind her of Zara, thereby bringing back all the memories.
The next day, she drove herself to school without her driver. When she parked, she went directly to Mr. Rex's office. This was the only means she had left. If she couldn't get her out of the school the second time, then she would make everyone Naomi loved turn against her. In that light, she would be frustrated and leave school on her own terms.
That was lame, but she had no other choice. She would look for other means if this one didn't work out. Once in front of the office, she knocked on the door. But no one opened. She tried again and even kicked, but no one opened.
"I know you must be hiding in there. Open the damn door and let me in. We need to talk."
"I'm sorry, but he traveled and will not be back for a while."
A male student who had been standing close by drew closer to let her know.
"He is definitely going to come back, then."
With that, she walked back to her car. She had no interest in attending lectures today. It was just going to be a set of repeated points. She had no time for that. She had better things to do, and that was looking into who got Naomi back to school, because she knew that her old, weak grandmother could not afford it.
"Hey, Archer. I want you to check Naomi’s background for me and send me the details," she sent a voice note to Archer.
Archer was tech-savvy and could get information in no time.
"Sure, babe. I will get that for you."
Whoever got her back to school was going to pay for it—even with their life.
